Prepare your ticket for this sexy ride to Fanime!

This year, we will take a look at public transit (as well as Yu-gi-oh jokes) in Gold Throbber!

Glitch the Digital Demon does one of his Hentai Review episodes (but uncensored!) Watch him skewer a hentai series, but with all the juicy bits left in. Plus skits and naughty games with prizes.  Ask him any ridiculous question you may have!   18+ (so get your fake IDs ready)

Friday May 27th, 10:00 PM - 12:00 AM in Panels Room 1.

so info on panels is now up (the submission form is yet to go up).
So looks like it will be via zoom although you can submit a pre-recorded video.

I'm just wondering what exactly is the format they want us to follow gonna be. Some cons will simply just host from the Twitch stream of the panelist while others want a pre-recorded video sent in advanced.

As well as what we are allowed to do and how to do it.

Serious Business / The downfall of PyronIkari.
« on: July 12, 2020, 09:32:43 PM »
The forum user of Pyronikari (aka Mikey Pham) used to be quite a pain here on the Fanime boards. Now it looks like his hidden crimes finally get exposed. He has been grooming and abusing young girls for years, and one of his victims has come forward.

He hasn't been on here since 2014 but only if I could time travel. I hope eventually he gets kicked out of as many conventions as possible.

General Convention Discussion / Re: Fanime 2020 - The Lost Year

This just means we'll have to celebrate twice as hard next year. It'll like two Fanimes going on at once!

Ideas and Suggestions / Re: Cooking Demonstrations
« on: June 19, 2019, 04:51:56 AM »
I'm sure this idea has crossed the minds of Fanime. I'd more surprised if they didn't.
Also, there's food conventions where demonstrations are done, so I'm sure cooking wouldn't be a huge issue for Fanime.

It would be interesting to see all sorts of variety of Japanese foods shown. Maybe stuff related to anime. Maybe Japanese food you might not see often cooked in America. There's many things Fanime could do.

Ideas and Suggestions / Re: Please, Do NOT Do “Silver Island”
« on: June 06, 2019, 01:15:23 AM »
Silver Island should not happen again. Honestly, it felt like they were holding our hentai hostage.
"Come to Silver Island or you won't see your hentai!"

The fact that hentai and yaoi was shifted down to a 8pm - 2am slot meant that it made that content no longer be the after hours relaxation ritual most of us do. Instead it's this thing you have to go out of your way to see. You wanna just chill and poke fun at stuff on the screen, but you then have to make the decision if waiting out in the cold for the shuttle is worth it.
As well as competition for us hosting 18+ panels. That type of audience is already spread thin as it is.

The night market was very underwhelming. You can kind of already find that content at the main artist alley. I was expecting bondage gear and sex toys. AnimeDepot's booth at the dealer's hall actually had more hentai content than night market( and that includes the toys).

My guess is that the Doubletree is pressuring the con to use the meeting rooms, since they can't really just offer those big rooms to another event without offering hotel rooms to go with it.

Either way, this doesn't really work. When I went over fort the hentai amv contest, it felt like I was going from a big con to a very small one.

What was the song that played before the contest, that had two words repeated over and over?

Got mine in.
Has the contest been moved over to Silver Island?

Huh, I thought all of the hentai related events were shipped off to the DoubleTree this year.

The screenings were moved to the DoubleTree.  Hentai/18+ related panels will remain where they usually are.
18+ panels were asked if they would want to move over to Doubletree. Of course many of us declined. Mostly because Uncensored is the friday night main event.  8)

The Comedy Club at Fanime is back for our 10th anniversary ! (Time sure flies when you're laughing)

Let the hilarity echo through the convention hallways!
We are a stand up comedy show featuring comedians riffing on subject such as anime, comic books, conventions and such. Come on by for some good laughs.
Saturday, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM in Panels Room 2

Update 5/18/2018

This is the order that you are performing in.

Comedians list:
K. Chheng

Show up 15 minutes before showtime. I'll be outside the entrance, and probably with a sign that says "comedy club". If we are already inside, tell the staffer you are part of the show. We will be sitting in the front row.

Let me know if you want to switch spots.

Good luck in your performances.

Do you wanna be one of the performers? Well here is how to get in on the action.

How to apply.
Newbies and experienced comedians are all welcome. There is no audition process(since no experience required ^_~ ).
Send an email with the following info.

How you want to be introduced before your performance(otherwise I just say your name):

Email to glitchwire@hotmail.com. Make sure to put “COMEDY CLUB” in the subject line(any questions you have can also be sent to this address).
People who have performed in previous years at the comedy club get guaranteed spots.

And also be ready to memorize and time your sets, and make sure it is comedy relating to anything geeky(that's kind of a given but just to clear all bases). If you go on about the wife and kids for a minute straight, I will get up(and ask politely that you stop it).

This is a 16+ panel. You can swear and talk about sex, but don't get graphic. As long as your sentences aren't entirely make up of curse words and you don't mention every precise detail of certain sex acts, you should be fine.

If we run out of spots, you can join the waiting list. If there’s time left over after the show, you can perform afterwards. Just come up to me before the show starts(I’ll be at the entrance 30 minutes before).

Bump for videos of the event.

There's gonna be massive crunch time this Sunday.

Things in the Universe / Re: Fanime Competition: Crunchyroll Expo
« on: April 28, 2017, 04:24:37 PM »
Most likely crx is heavily industry driven, so already I think it's too different than the fan driven Fanime.
Enough difference that they won't directly compete.
