Stemmed from my opinions in my "What games are you looking forward to" this topic is born.

In my opinion Yellow is just as good as blue (and I only like Blue more than red was because I caught all 151 pokemon legally). I will give you that Scyther does give Red some amazing win points.

When it comes to Gold, Silver, and Crystal I never owned Crystal, but I loved Gold the most.

Emerald was better than Ruby and Sapphire since you could catch all the three main legendaries.

So we shall see how Platinum stacks up.

The one I was in we'd watch anime and then near Fanime we'd plan and organize fund raisers to gather money to go to Fanime. Looking back it seemed like we really didn't do anything. Now that I'm in college and am building the first anime club on the campus I am trying to think of stuff we'd do. So what do anime clubs typically do?

As I was walking through the con I noticed that someone was setting down manga that had a note saying you can take them for free (it was advertisement). Did anyone else on here get any? If so what?

I found two. DNAngel vol. 3 and I.N.V.U vol. 1.

Ideas and Suggestions / Who's That Pokemon?! 2009
September 24, 2008, 09:05:31 PM
So I was thinking that a fun game could be a modified version of "Who's That Pokemon?!" I thought maybe it could be played at Stage Zero since there's the screens and what not. Now the original game (that was in the show) was just a black silhouette and sadly easy. This is where I bring in the modified idea. My friends and I played a version where we would draw the pokemon poorly and quickly (less than a minute) in Paint. The pokemon were still recognizable but we all found that trying to distinguish if a purple blob was either ditto, muk, or grimer made the game much more difficult. Plus who doesn't love pokemanz?

Well this year was an amazing blast, and I've already started planning for next year. XD I ended up having a concierge level room at the Mariott and enjoyed it quite well, but it just wasn't big enough for 6 or 7 people. Haha... I intended for having only one room mate, but people I met at the con ended up crashing with me. :P

So anyway... next year I've made plans with two of my close friends who went this year to plan a gathering of our friends and have about 8-10 people come. We're planning on chipping in for a VIP room at the Mariott if possible (still need to look into those further) or whatever will easily accommodate us in luxury. We're thinking of having everyone chip in 200 or so dollars. So yes at this point these are my plans.

I'm just curious if there are and if any would like to hang out sometime?

I think this could serve multiple purposes. First, with a list we could easily see what ideas are already out there and what new ideas could be put out there. Second, with a list we could vote for the games to see what are the most popular with the forum.

- Air Guitar Contest
- Catch the Barrel, Catch the Prize
- Cosplay Murder Mystery
- Fanime Onigokko! (Hide/seek)
- Fanime Rap Battle
- Fanime Scavenger Hunt
- LARP Room
- Pokemon D/P/P Tournament
- Spin Art Table
- Telephone Game
- Twister

Serious Business / The God debate.
September 23, 2008, 10:17:25 PM
I know this can be a touchy subject, but I'd like to try and have a mature debate about religion vs. atheism.

I'll start off with my standpoint. I personally don't believe in a god or gods. Taking the Christian god (since it is usually the main god referred to in debates), I find that the theology of Christianity has some major holes or areas that science has disproved. One example that I find to be one of these holes is that the bible states the Earth is much younger than it actually is. I do understand that not many believe this to be true, but some fundamentalists do.

PS: Sorry if I, or anyone else generalizes.
Edit: Changed poor wording about "religion vs. science"

Things in the Universe / R.I.P. George Carlin

R.I.P. George Carlin
May 12, 1937 - June 22, 2008

Yesterday the great God of comedy, George Carlin, has passed away from heart failure. He was announced dead today at 5:55pm while at St. John's Health Center in Santa Monica.

Though he may be gone, he lived every moment of his life doing comedy. He made millions of people happy (and offended just as many), including myself. He will be missed and never forgotten. His memory will love on through his stand-up and books, and in the hearts of his loving family and adoring fans.

George Carlin was more than a hero to me, he was a teacher. I will miss him dearly.

May your soul float up and get stuck in a roof and your body either blown up or thrown out of a plane and left there. I'll personally make sure the dogs don't get to you.

Not meant to be a debate or anything just curious what everyone believes.

Me? I personally don't believe in god but I think there are paranormal activities out there that science can't explain.

So I'm planning on making a two swords out of foam, but I'm fairly n00bish about this part and am wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of what foam would make the sturdiest swords. I read some guides that recommend closed-cell foam while Avatrix's guide recommends rigid insulation foam. I'm not really sure which would be best. The longest sword (at this point) is I think around 35-40 inches if that matters.

YoYo Ride Collapse Injures 18 At Calaveras County Fair

Friday, May 16, 2008 - 09:45 PM
Bill Johnson
MyMotherLode News Director

Angels Camp, CA -- 18 young people were injured when the YoYo ride collapsed shortly after six o'clock this evening at the Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee.

Sheriff Dennis Downum says the three critically injured were life-flighted to three hospitals: Doctors Medical Center and Memorial North in Modesto and the U.C. Davis Medical Center. The first call to emergency responders was recorded at 6:11pm.

OSHA inspectors have been summoned to determine the cause of the collapse.

O_O Since I live in Columbia I was thinking about heading to the fair because it's like 20 minutes away... glad I didn't. Two of my bestfriends were about to get on the doomed ride but he felt sick and they decided to sit that one out. They watched as it collapsed

I used to have a close up picture of the beads but since my hard drive crashed I lost it. Does anyone have any pics of the beads?

Not sure about meeting, time or anything considering I'm not sure if anyone's interested. So if there are people interested could you help pick a day, time, and meeting spot?

Just post random questions you've pondered. Can be on any subject.

Would it be incest if you had sex with your clone?

Finally can spend time on the forums again. ^_^ I've been so deprived.

I know for e-gaming that I'll be in a room with some other people, but I can't have a friend stay with me. Well my original plan was to bring my friend with me, so I need my own room. There is no rule that I have to stay in a staff hotel room is there?

Forum Games / Sloganize the above poster!

Simple enough idea. Just come up with a slogan for the above poster based on their username. :P And GO!

Ok so it turns out that my birthday, April 20th, falls on the Cherry Blossom Festival Cosplay Parade. So I decided that I'd have my birthday at the Festival, get away from my town, go on a mini road trip, so I thought that I'd turn it into a gathering since some of you will be there anyway. :P I'm not sure on the details fully yet, but suggestions, times, and what not would be appreciated.

Things in the Universe / Is there a Fanime IRC room?
February 07, 2008, 03:55:09 PM
I'm just curious because it would be a fun way to have a huge group chat. You know have like a weekly get together every Saturday night or something.
