Hi guys, I work at a Barnes & Noble and they are having a national event in every store across the country. There will be multiple events throughout July and August, but one day will be a Cosplay Day. I was wondering if there were any local cosplayers that would want to participate. We are encouraged to have storytimes, photo ops, or panel discussions in store. I thought it would be cool to do something with Sailor Moon in light of all the recent announcements and excitement, but I'm open to anything.

Me and my husband make vinyl decals that you can put on your car windows, laptops, game systems, or even your walls.
We have a lot of designs to choose from and we can do custom orders. If there is something you'd like but you don't see it there, we can probably still do it. We'll be at fanime if you would rather meet up in person to buy something :)

In addition to sharing our shop, we are always looking for suggestions of other cool designs to do so we would totally appreciate any ideas you guys have!

Thanks a bunch!

Hi guys. I'm 32 and my husband is 34. We both have been anime fans since childhood and we love coming to Fanime. It's fun to see all the younger fans having the best time ever and we have a lot of younger friends, so we aren't trying to be exclusionary, but I was wondering if anyone was interested in an older fan meetup.

It's nice to get together with other people that can reminisce about when fansubs used to be on VHS bootlegs and the Sci-fi channel used to show anime on Saturday mornings. When I talk to younger fans about how we used to import anime laserdisks they look at me like I'm insane. We can talk about Gunbuster, Tenchi, Slayers, and whatever other old school anime we used to watch.

We could meet up for a coffee or whatever. I'm open to suggestion.

Incredible Stuff I can Make / Anime Vinyl Car Decals!
November 17, 2012, 06:48:27 PM
Hi guys! I make decals for cars and some for wall decals and cell phone covers. I have some anime ones like Studio Ghibli, Sailor Moon, and Full Metal Alchemist, but I was wondering what kinds of decals would you like most? Trying to come up with some new designs and could really use the feedback :D

Pros:
Sailor Moon! There was a panel and a marathon this year, which I really enjoyed.
Events seemed organized(things actually started when and where the booklet said they would).
I thought the temperature was pretty good in all the rooms.
I thought there were great artists in the Artist Alley and more selection in the Dealer's Hall this year!

Cons:
Registration.
If you do pre-reg, you shouldn't have to wait 6 hours in line. I agree that they should mail badges out.
The electricity outage can't be predicted and I think most of the staff did a great job trying to be helpful and keep morale up. However, I was about 5 people away from getting my badge when the lights went out and it took 30 minutes before the staff were given the go ahead to accept our email off of our smartphones. Before that, we were told to come back tomorrow, which is ridiculous for having waited so long already. Once they were given this direction, things went much more smoothly and I think it's cool that they stayed open so late.

I still felt bad every day when I saw the huge line of people unable to enjoy the events because they were still in line for registration. Maybe you should start registration earlier in the day, and maybe it would be faster to have separate lines for the alphabet?

I understand that throwing beach balls could damage property so I wasn't surprised that a staff member confiscated it. I was actually relieved because I no longer needed to look behind me to make sure I didn't get smacked in the head. It bothered me though, when this female staff member took the ball and extended her middle finger and flipped off everyone waiting in line as she walked by. I know that there are a lot of young people volunteering to be staff, so they don't have the level of professionalism you would expect from a paid employee, but there are kids at this event and I thought it was really inappropriate.
