For FanimeCon 2014, we are trying something different in order to make booking a hotel room less of a headache and more fair for our attendees. It is now going to be a requirement for our attendees to have a FanimeCon 2014 membership in order to book a hotel room.

Woah, woah, woah. What?!

So now we're punishing attendees who don't happen to have cash in hand right now from registering from a hotel room? This makes sense to you how?! Hotel rooms sell out fast and not everyone is just sitting on enough cash to pay their badge registration fees right now. You're going to start excluding a HUGE number of your attendees. How is not having your badge suddenly grounds from excluding you from convention planning and hotel registration?

I'm sorry if this isn't exactly a coherent thought. But I've been attending Fanime for over 10 years and I LOVE this con. But this sort of thing feels like I just got sucker punched.

This is why we wanted to get this posted and highlighted as soon as possible. This is no way an attempt to punish *any* of our attendees that are trying to get a hotel room for themselves. This is an unfortunate change to prevent a loophole that some were using to reserve up to a dozen rooms by themselves and then attempting to resell or just cancel the room at the last second, which was causing a bunch of our members to be unable to reserve a room for themselves.

The hotel deposit won't be put onto your account until a month or so before the convention.

I'm not even worried about a deposit. I'm talking about the fact that hotels (especially those that are more desirable) are gone within minutes. And it's a known fact there are not enough hotel rooms for every single one of your attendees. So again, if you don't have $55 right now, or within the next 7 days, expect to be excluded from this benefit, no matter how well you've been trying to pay attention and be proactive about your planning. NEVERMIND the rest of you that are dependent on an AA table confirmation or Swap Meet.

Why can't you just implement the 2 room requirement to combat this problem? Rather than forcing the rest of us to get pushed aside?

Why are you not responding to this quote, some of us don't have money right now to pay for the prereg are going to be screwed over in the hotel. I understand the two room requirement but giving us one week to suddenly shell out 55 dollars is ridiculous. You also didn't bother to respond to this at all and answered everyone else.

Im just constantly refreshing my facebook and twitter account as well as their webpage I already made a just incase reservation for a hotel. : / i just hope I don't have to use that and can get  the housing :/ .

Have you tried a drink called a Dirty Shirley?  It's really just a Shirley Temple (sprite and grenadine) with a little vodka added to the mix.  It tastes just like a yummy cherry soda!  It was the only drink I really liked when I first started drinking, cause it's not very strong ^_^

First time I heard anyone say that.
You don't have to order what everyone drinks, just drink what ever tase good to you. I myself never like a classic martini, or budwiser. But you'll never know which drink combo you'll like if you never try.

Been going for a little while, and I am for one day or maybe more going to be Sango from Inuyasha so If you see a giant wooden boomrang thats me xD If you need anyone to chat or something I will be around c: I might be a little sleepy looking in the early afternoon but I love making new friends, I hope your first time at the con is a good experience ! I may go, depends on what my friend do I have gone to this convention for 4 years but for my friends it's their first time soo... depending on the schedule of fanamie and them not to sure. However it does sound fun, I most likely wont really drink I dislike alot of bar drinks xD

Cant fall asleep still at home i got a bunch of stuff at the mall today hopefully everyone finds eachother tommorrow...im going to be wearing my outfit from the rave..so ill try to snatch a sweatshirt ill only have my key and id with me mostly..Gaah need to sleep x.x

Sleep is for the week... I kid. Hopefully everyone can get their badges today and we get to meet up later. I really hope to be able to do some stuff today. Haha

had like three hours of sleep... im ....so exhausted x_X

I know I am doing the same! I hope my luggage isn't over 50 pounds or I will get charged! If I could pack lighter I would but my bag contains maily my costumes and I even have a box! :P I think i am so oever doing it but fanime is worth it! :D

Yea..I got like three fifteenth pairs of shoes and clothes for rave and what not I got so excited when I found my boots this morning I was like yay! I'm prob doing a gothic theme one day..I managed to talk my manager into getting tommorrow. Off but I'm still unsure if I want to go the first day plus I don't drive.. x.x

It's alright means I wont be that into my cosplay x'D which is alright with me.. funny that my hairs too short for sango but too long for nana xD

This might sound silly and noobish but does anyone know how to put on a wig, everytime I try It always ends up slipping off :/ I try to pin it and I fail x_X

Do you have a wig cap? I have lots of hair and if I don't wear one the wig won't stay on. Other than that I have never had a problem with wig before. Sorry I am not much help...

I have a wig cap.. but I guess I don't own the right one, and every year I try to put the wig on i end up not using it because it ends up slipping in the front or back showing my hair x_X
