if no one responds by September, I'll consider this a lack of interest and leave it to stage zero again. :)

The forums will tend to be quiet until the time registration for 2016 is announced/opened. So, you're best bet might be to start bumping the thread around then and not just give up entirely by September.

Also, as echoshadow said above, you'll want more details too.

I know a lot of people are repeating the "Wait till Monday" rule for the Gathering Hall, but that's a double-edged sword.  My first Fanime was back in 2013, which was also when I got hardcore into Monster Hunter.  They had a meetup that year and a few of the con-goers managed to snag some sweet MonHun Plushies from the Hall, so I became driven to find the stall that had them.  I checked everywhere in that Hall Sunday, no luck. Asked around and got the specific spot, went back on Monday, and sure enough, they had sold out of them all on Saturday, probably before the meetup.  I also like getting shirts from the SharkRobot stall at every con I go to, but a couple times when I've waited too long, they've ended up out of my size for the shirt(s) I wanted.

Long story short, even if you don't BUY anything, go into the Dealer's Hall and examine EVERY stall at least once on Friday.  Some stalls will have impressive amounts of stock handy, but others are limited to what you see on their tables.  Getting a deal is great, but waiting for that deal to come and losing out on something you really wanted in the process can put a damper on the good times.

I kinda just wanna reaffirm this! The best time to buy would be Friday or Monday, because many many times I've noticed that something I bought on Friday went up by like five or even ten bucks the very next day. (Also once a dealer gave me a small discount on some small things because it was near closing time on Friday and the crowd was super light.) I tend to do shopping on Friday myself because I know things will be at least a little cheaper and it's kinda like early dibs on things in stock that would totally be gone by Monday otherwise. I've heard things about manga sellers giving bigger discounts on Monday, though, so that's something to try to hold out on if there aren't any Must Haves.

There have been a few guests in the past I've been interested in seeing but never made the effort to go to a panel with them- but I am definitely going to go through the effort for this glorious man. His voice is awesome and he seems like an equally awesome person. Today's guest announcement just got me way more hyped for Fanime this year. Of course I'm really excited to see super neato cosplays and admire everyone in artist alley as well! ☆*:.｡. o(≧▽≦)o .｡.:*☆

If the child is 10 years old or under, they have free entry to the convention as long as they are accompanied by someone who has paid for a badge during the time that person goes to pick up/buy their badge.

If your child is 11 years and up, it'd be the same price as a regular badge holder, I believe.

Yoooo so no worries- I was confused on registration when I first started going to Fanime too~ happens to all of us sometimes at some point or the other. So I'll answer in order, to the best of my abilities, cuz I'm not apart of staff.

• When you register, you purchase your badge at the same time. So it's not reserve a badge now and pay later. You can only purchase a one day badge on the day you want to go to the convention while at the convention.
• Because you only want to go one day, you cannot make a group, but I think at the convention when you buy your badge, you can just purchase everyone's right then and there yourself so they don't have to do anything except wait for you to give them their badge.
• Technically answered already but- if you only want to go on Sunday, you do not buy anything online.
• You need a valid form of ID, which is a drivers license, passport, regular state issued photo ID card, or a student ID. Any of these will work! If you and the other two people in your group just choose to buy badges individually at the convention, they would need their own form of ID as well.
• Also technically already answered.

I think there was actually a lot of variation in the artists. Not to say anyone was terrible, but you definitely had artists from like every tier there and I like that. I really hope you, OP, weren't hoping for large prints to be under ten bucks- almost every artist offers a deal for prints so you buy multiple but each come out to a lower price rather than buying them separately anyways. Commissions are another story entirely. (Though fifteen bucks for a 8 x 11 drawing in full water color certainly is a very nice price if the artist my friend commissioned is any indication.)

Artists need to make a living, remember that.

And I agree with the poster above that the aisles could stand to be spaced out more. The popular booths got crowded fast and it made walking around hard... I actually loved the South Hall location but I understand why a lot of people did not. It was nice and spacious...! And opening the AA pool way earlier would be much better for the artists considering the new system implemented this year. It was cut close and I know there were artists who didn't want to even bother attending Fanime this year considering it was cut close. But it worked out well in the end, I think, because there was still a nice variety in everything!

I didn't exactly have a hoop skirt last year, but my dress was pretty dang poofy thanks to an obnoxious amount of tulle. That said, it wasn't that hard to navigate the sometimes overly crowded hallways so long as I was conscious of the people around me. Maybe it helped a little that my friend was there too to make sure my dress was alright and stayed right by my side. I didn't have any problems really! I know there was a gorgeous Vanellope Von Schweetz cosplayer who wore a really large hoop skirt last year and I want to say she also had someone helping her navigate around- but really it was so pretty you could just see her easily and know to go around. So I mean you should honestly be fine if you feel comfortable walking in it anyways!

The only annoying thing about it had to be going up and down stairs since I was really worried I'd trip on the back of the dress or miss a step because I couldn't see the steps but after a few times it got easier and there was a sort of princess-y feeling to it when going down stairs (hehehee~)
