What characters do you need the most? I do a lot: Austria, Germany, netherlands, Prussia, Lithuania, turkey, denmark... I am over 18. Also what time is the panel?

I kind of want to try it but I have a hard time singing in Japanese.  I entered a contest at a different con and totally bombed...  I also can't find a karaoke version of one of the songs I'd want to do; there's not a lot of stuff that works well for my range, so my choices are limited.  I will absolutely try for the gong show, however.  And I'll definitely be at open mic. 

If you need a badge in order to ride the bus, is it not possible to ride the shuttle on Thursday until you've gotten your badge?

If you've already designated your spot for badge pickup as Fanime, are they actually going to let you just change to CA on the fly like that, though?

+ UPDATE INFO:  We had a roommate back out on us at the last second so we would really like to get another one!!  2 of the four nights (Thurs and Sun), we only have three people staying in the room currently, so those 2 nights you are guaranteed a bedspace (or couch, if you prefer). 

+ Hotel Information: Hyatt Place San Jose Downtown, 2 DOUBLE BEDS + couch.  Check-in is Thursday night, Check-out is Tuesday; I'm flying back to the east coast on Tuesday, but as of right now, I'm the only person who is staying that night.  You are welcome to keep your stuff in the room on Monday until you have to leave, and since we don't have to check out Monday, you can pack a bit more leisurely.

+ Costs: This will depend on how many nights you are staying!  2 nights for example would be $58.  The cost for all four nights is $105!  You can pay me with PayPal or cash at the con, but I need the money by the first day you are staying.
+ Requirements:

• WOMEN ONLY.  This is not negotiable.  If you have to ask if your circumstance could be an exception, the answer is most likely no.
• 18+ very strongly preferred.

+ Miscellaneous:  There will be some drinking going on in this room, and some nights we may be out late.  If you like going to bed early and dislike alcohol, this may not be a great room for you.

I'd barricade the door just in case random people show up at your hotel with knives and forks.

I know a lot of AA people who would have applied but had already made commitments to other cons the same weekend that don't make them as much money or give them as much exposure but were surer bets.  It's a bit late in the game to be making flight arrangements, especially with no guarantee that you will have either hotel space OR table space.  So it's possible that a lot of AA people have just written off Fanime as a con not to attend at this point.

It's also possible that people haven't seen that it had already opened and closed since it was a short window of time, especially between the notification of its opening and its actual opening.  And the original info did say that it was being left open for a week...but then it was only open 48 hours...  So maybe people haven't had the time to realize it's closed to be annoyed.  I would expect more angry feedback to happen next week. 

Good luck to people who applied and good luck finding a tablemate.  I didn't apply, but it's mainly because I don't like flying with stock and because fanime is a hangout con for me and not necessarily due to policy changes, although I do think the delays this year have been ill-advised. 

I have to say that it doesn't give me much confidence in Fanime's organization or planning that a decision that seemed wise to me, and ostensibly would have been made after a lengthy discussion of the pros and cons, would be reversed after less than a week.  It actually gives me negative confidence that any of the other stuff you guys are claiming to have fixed has been discussed much and even less confidence that any of it will be resolved.

So, now I have other questions:

Are we still limited to two hotel rooms?

Is the time the housing site opens 10 Pacific time or 10 Eastern time?

Is there anybody on the panel so far who is 18 or older?

Mostly, but I'm still curious about age limits of the panelists.  You want people to be 16 or older, I'm assuming, but since there are people who are under 18, does that also mean there would be an upper limit on how old the panelists can be?

Hiya!  A few questions about this panel:

-Are you still accepting applications?

-I think the panels are usually divided into All Ages and 18+ for legal reasons, aren't they?  I apologize if I'm mistaken.  If a panel is designated as 18+, content can be legally shown that is appropriate for legal adults.  What is different about this panel that makes it legally inappropriate for people under 16 but not legally inappropriate for 16 and 17 year olds? 

-This is a truth or dare panel, but some of your panelists I am assuming will be minors (under 18).  You mentioned fanservice happening, possibly.  Does this mean there's an upper age limit for panelists?
