You people talking about going to Anime Expo makes me even more depressed, I have zero money and no one to share a room with to get down there. >:C

I got hit with it hard. No money to spend on anything, and not being able to go to AX or Sac-Con/Anime like I had planned to makes me more and more like Mr. Ikari.

On the plus side, I am catching up on nerd stuff, like Attack on Titan, going to catch with somewhat old nerd stuff, like Durarara/Baccano, and about to jump into old anime, like Cobra and Harlock.

Did that Durarara message actually contain a shoutout to Fanime or San Jose? Because I didn't hear Fanime OR San Jose in it.
No, that was added in and was not actually said in Japanese.

Figured. Still great, though.

You see a lot of zombie-ish attitudes from everybody. There's a lot of people checking out of hotels, organizing rides, getting last minute things done, and the usual post-con-depression. Tired, just tired. Going home may just as well be the best remedy.

Mostly because 90% of us stayed up all night. It's quite a sight to see a scowling Batman asleep in a chair. Oh, and the fact the con is over. I swear, Post-Convention Depression needs to be a DSM-V affliction.

It's weird, this year, there were a LOT more Homestuckers putting way more effort into the horns and full-body grey makeup.

It was weird, this Monday was a lot more hectic than the past two Mondays. Last year's Monday was completely, utterly dead when Closing Ceremonies rolled around.

If anything, you can catch any of the local stragglers in cosplay - if they're still in cosplay - and prepare to head out. The dealers usually discount their stuff, but not by that much. A few of the panels are amusing and are there to pass the time, and you can catch up on any gaming you missed. If you want, you can go to Closing Ceremonies, which is more like a "bitch at the staff and offer suggestions" thing than a proper ceremony, but it's a lot more personal than the feedback forms.

I'm not a Homestuck fan by any means, but the reason for the hate is mostly idiotic nerd internet grudges boiling over into real life. I'm fully aware a lot of the Homestuck fandom is insane, but jesus, applying it to an entire group is stupid as hell. Same reason why Naruto cosplayers get bashed to hell and back.

Also, the 'don't cosplay things that are simple and easy' bullshit needs to die. NEWS FLASH, NERD: No one but you and your group of shitty elitists care.

I didn't even know that us Naruto cosplayers were still on the hot seat. Damn, people hold grudges forever!

I heard people bitch about the fandom as a whole this year, out loud, twice. Jesus, it's 2013, give it a rest, people!

Either way, the concert was great.

Judging from the schedule, it really does seem like a mini Fanime...
#14
It'll be like the beforeparty of Fanime, or whatever they're called. Might do a preliminary meetup before Fanime comes and annihilates us all.

Yeah, I'm most likely going to get beaten when the hotel reservations go up... when do they usually go up? I vaguely recall them going up early May/Late April in 2011.

Worst comes to worst, I'm trying to crash with a friend (and friends of a friend who will hopefully not kick my ass) at the Fairmont on non-discount prices, what are prices like there?

The one thing I forgot to add to the story was the many times I had to redo the straps throughout the week leading to Fanime and even during Fanime. The armor isn't flexible and was built for one size -- big dude. When I started on this project, I was a bigger guy, by the time Fanime hit, I had lost a significant amount of weight, but it was too late to trim down the armor, so I had to add more straps to keep it on and it ended up looking too big, even on me. This was one time I did not want to lose weight.

Totally should have been James Vegas. :V

And good luck, man, especially with the Steampunk version (THAT one's gonna be tough). The power stripes on the back are a nice touch!

They had one this year? Weird. They didn't advertise it.

(FOR GOOD REASON I THINK)

Late too, but I think it depended on size and quality.

I want a Duke Nukem bodypillow...

Wish more booths had more Touhou stuffs.
I know there was that one exclusively Touhou booth, but you can always use more Touhou  ;D

There were like no video games or music cds either.
And Vocaloid stuff. I don't think I saw anything except Miku related stuff there. Or atleast I don't remember seeing anything Vocaloid related that wasn't Miku.

Huh, really? I swore I saw some Touhou games... I KNOW I saw horribly overpriced yukkuris and Fumofumos (that a friend said might be bootlegged).

And yeah, shame. Given that I heard Fanime didn't want to be associated with the Vocaloid concert for some reason, not beeg surprised.

Registration / Re: Lines on Day 0
June 01, 2012, 11:50:28 AM
Probably - I know iPads/iPhones/Things that aren't Apple are used in lieu of cash registers in some stores, but I don't know if there's dedicated apps for admittance/events. It'd be helpful if the power blew out like it did this year, but still...
