My friend and I will show up as the original Dirty Pair, Kei and Yuri!

Hello! I'll be going as Akane, but I haven't figured out which one. I have the Akane from Nihao My Concubine, her school girl out fit, and her ice skating outfit. I have my other 2 friends who'll be dressed as Ukyo and Ranma (female).

Sign me up as Yura of the Hair!
#4
I might come in as Felicia if I finish revamping it on time.

This year's B&W Ball was my first ever, despite it being my 5th or 6th Fanime. It was the best part of my weekend. I loved it! I enjoyed the dance classes. I believed it helped me enjoy the ball more. I love dancing, and with ball room dancing being new to me, the classes were the only thing I looked forward to attending during the day. I thought the choice of music was excellent. The playlist was well compiled. The instructors are amazing! They definitely deserve props! I danced so hard that my legs and feet hurt till the next day, but it was all worth it! The venue was beautiful and well decorated. There was always water at the water tables I went to. That helped  a lot! the Demos were also amazing!

I noticed the dress force wasn't too enforced. There were a few very short dresses roaming around. The ladies who plan to wear gowns next year should be warned on how long their dresses could be. I few of the dresses were always getting snagged, stepped on, and ripped at hems. I think the attendance will greatly increase next year; its gonna get more crowded.

I agree with some of the suggestions to let the dancers know doing their stationary dancing to dance in the middle, so the traveling dances can actually travel. I was glad to see the conga line and the break dancing circle broken up. The line dancing should have been encouraged in the middle of the dance floor so they wouldn't get in the way as well.

Overall I give the staff an A++++++ for all their hard work! Thank you! I am already excited for next year's B&W ball. The classes has inspired me to take up ball room dancing classes :)

I didnt mean to hijack this thread.

tho i wasnt sure how serious some ppl were about a clubbing gathering.

apparently some of you ppl are crazier than I originally thought. :P

so in that case, is there more of a vote for SJ or SF club crawling? :P
I would be down to hit some clubs. Wouldn't make since to go to clubs in SJ? We would be closer to the convention. Not sayin that I'm not down to go to hit up clubs in SF.
I think we were more on the subject of just going clubbing anytime, not necessarily during con. I'm still leaning to something more in SF, but SJ wouldn't be bad either. Whatever gets me out of the central valley. Kazuko what are some good clubs in SF?
actually, clubbing durring fanime would be a pretty cool idea

Theres a bunch of nice clubs near the con. Actually one new hot one is Club Wet which is around the corner from SJCC. Its really nice inside, almost as cool as a Vegas club. It hosts a lot of famous DJs and celebreties. All of its events are 21+

As for SF clubs. I highly recommend Temple which has three themed levels: house, techno, and hip hop. It has pretty good DJs plus the themed rooms are awesome!
If you want a little more laid back, there's Holy Cow near Slim's too. It gets really full, but again it is a 21+ club.

baww I thought this was going to be lets actually go dancing at some club I dont want to wait till fanimu to get my groove thang on (lol)

a clubbing gathering? *smirks* hmm... that would be an interesting gathering/meet up.

who else would actually be interested in this tho?

most clubs around San Jose are 21+ tho [as well as the vast majority of the clubs in SF] i would assume.

only once in a blue mood [or random invites on FB or myspace] that clubs actually have 18+ or dare i say it all ages clubs/raves like fanime. :P

meh, i dance like a dork whenever, no funky groovy music needed. ;)
Jerry does have good idea of club gathering. I second this motion. ;D
I hella third this, There are clubs in SF like popscene, Crib and I forget the other one that are 18+ but they kinda suck from what I hear since the 21+ is better. Its all up to you all when you want to go to the clubs 8D
Saturdays are great for me. How bout everyone else?
Same here but I can do thursdays or fridays as well!

I'm up to it! I frequent the 21+ club scene in SF, not so much in SJ.

I really want to try to make it for the grand parade! Maybe this time I'll dress up in a kimono or cosplay!

Hello! I am very interested in modeling for the panel/fashion show. I plan to wear a an aristocrat outfit. I shall send you PM with a picture and other information.

Hello! I really want to try to make it for the picnic this year... the other years I've been occupied with running around the con for other things. I will be wearing the aristocrat. I shall bring jasmine tea to contribute. If you have a request for something else to drink, let me know! I can't wait!

I would like to hear a good mix of techno with disco, 80's , and hip-hop. I'm tired of the trance! Mix it up! PLEASE!

yo lady, what's up?

My plan is to try to have enough music on hand for a different genre per night. (since i'm a little new at this whole DJ thing, i'm trying to plan carefully)  Since i'll be doubling up at Stage Zero, The idea is to make the show happen where ever it may take us.  People keep those requests coming so we can fulfill the majority of requests. So far, i plan for, some electro, some house, some trance, and a birthday set filled of hard bass power, most of which will have some sort of japanese vocal spin on it, hopefully everyone will enjoy themselves.

We have plenty of people who will seduce those ones and twos to make it rockin for all, Yours Truly included.

So keep the good feedback comin!

Hanzo-san! I can't wait to hear you DJ at fanime! You know Ima dance to your music set! Let me know what times you DJ! Please have some hip-hop mixes in there please!

For those who think all you can do is dry hump each other to hip hop songs then you have no idea! Good example of hip-hop music mixed with techno and trance and whatever else is DJ Earworm's mix sets! Check it out at DJEarworm.com
