Hey, all!
This is a head's up to all you ABJD owners and fans.  The second annual Central California Asian Ball-Jointed Doll Convention will be held this April in Fresno, CA!  This year's event will be bigger than last year's, with an expanded Dealer's Hall, panels, how-to demos and more!  Pre-reg is now open at:
www.ccbjd.org

Hope to see you there!

Live Programming and Events / Multi-part skit
May 31, 2009, 08:48:32 PM
I've already begun concocting my skit for next year and have happened upon a great idea.  Basically, I need to know from the Powers That Be if it would be possible to have a 3-part skit at Masquerade next year?  It would be a combined 2min30sec (30sec, 30sec, 1min30secs).  The concept will work as a straight out skit, but would be funnier split up.  Would this be possible?  If so, how would I indicate a 3 part skit when I register for next year?

Hi, everybody!  I'm sure we all remember last year's Masquerade when everyone and their great aunt danced to Hare Hare Yukai.  Some friends of mine lost a bet, so I'm forcing to do Masquerade this year and was curious as to whether Caramelldansen will be this year's Hare Hare Yukai.  Opinions?

General Anime Chat / Appropriate PG-13 Anime- HELP!
November 01, 2008, 10:29:22 PM
Hey, guys!
My sister has finally relented on her Geek ban and is allowing my nephew to read Naruto.  I also talked her into letting me have him for Con in 2009.  I want to get him into more anime, but I have lost the pulse of the G-PG-13 series.  He's 12.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  I'm open to both dubs and subs.
                             Thanks!

Only two weeks til Fanime and I'm trying to get some questions answered.  This was probably already covered in a previos topic post, but to be honest, I don't feel like scrolling through umpteen number of pages to find it.  So:

Are there any fees to participate in the Swap Meet?

Do I need to reserve space?

If either of these questions is "yes," who do I talk to to make those things happen?

Thank you!

Hey, can any of the staffers tell me if Fanime worked out a deal to have the pizza/salad/drinks food package again during Con?  I'm just curious.  We got it the first year and it was great.  We got it last year and the pizza was weak sauce.  Does anyone know if it will actually be worth the money this time?

General Anime Chat / Ani-Jam 2005
June 17, 2005, 10:17:30 PM
Those of you who have been on the boards for a while have heard me talk about Ani-Jam before.  In 2003,  it was a 6hour mini-Con held in Fresno, California.  The organizers were only expecting about 200 people to show up.  Attendence for the evening topped 500!, including several members of our messageboard family.  So, back by popular demand is Ani-Jam.  There are no dates yet for the 2005 Con, but anyone who may be interested in attending, the website is:
                  www.ani-jam.com
Please try to make it, if you can.  The more support given at this crucial early stage, the larger this Con can become.  Then, our NorCal Otaku will have another Convention option in California, other than A/X.

General Anime Chat / What Is BayCon???
June 30, 2003, 06:16:22 PM
I was being honestly curious in my last post, but it appears I have been taken with a different meaning.

I moved out of San Jose 3 years ago and am no longer up on the events that take place.  The first time I'd ever heard of Bay Con was on this messageboard last week.  And now people are talking about ditching Fanime for it, so I'm just wondering what the hell is BayCon anyway??  Somebody...anybody??

Panels and Workshops / How To Sew/Cosplay Panel
February 19, 2003, 05:55:20 PM
I think there should be a How To Sew/ Cosplay panel.  A lot of people want to cosplay, but either don't know how to sew or how to convert patterns to match their character.  That would be a huge help.

Anyone interested in teaching this?  I would, but I'm a little overextended as it is.
