you make sure that guy KNOWS what he did was not cool Echo! Anyway possible! Even if it becomes the talk of the convention!

on side note with fanime creeping back into our minds slowly with each passing month, how's everyone been preparing? Making or ordering costumes this time?
Chances are good that I am just going to slap together something or do a repeat of past years for my cosplay. Don't have the funlds and since not having a job for over a month really put a damper on what I can spend my money on.

Well, I know for a fact that I am probably going to have a friend in tow for the actual con, but hopefully I can go to the meet up on Thursday night alone. But we will see.

Sorry I won't without my friends and I really don't drink anyways. However they might not be going after all. So how is everyone cosplay plans going?
Mine isn't going at all. After loosing my job, I am to short on the cash to work on it. I may just revive an old cosplay.

That's why I think we should have 2 sets of meetings, one for the any age group and another one for those over 21. We can start with ideas for what everyone wants to do for the meet up and kind of go from there.

I am with you! There hasn't been much activity on the forums, haven't been on in awhile. I wonder when fanime will bring up the new site. I can't wait for our group meet up.  ;D
I think the reason for minimal activity was due to people going on vacations, school or work. And lets hope that this year they can get the schedule out a little earlier then last year, and that there is no power outages at the Convention Center this time. haha

I'm down, although.. I kind of want to do 21+ meet and great, maybe like a room party. I thought about just going to a bar/club/restaurant but it can get too expensive or too crowed. Unless we have our own both/table. So a room party would be best.
But that's all up in the air... nothing serious. There lots of time to plan out something.

I think this could be fun, we just need to figure out a good day and time. If anything, I would think Thursday night around 11pm to midnight would be a good time for the 21+ meet up.

And maybe a 6-8pm meet up for the under 21 meet up?

What's everyone's opinion of this idea?

Well, it has been a while since I have posted, and as I can see a while for everyone else too. So I figure that we should start this ball rolling again and start our prepping for our meet up again this year.
Whose with me?

Hey everyone!  I'm considering dressing for the next Fanime, but I figured before I even begin to construct it, I was wondering if his flamethrower was ever an issue.

I want to know in advance before I start buying parts and whatnot.  If I CAN bring this to con, I'd like some advice as to how I could construct this as cheaply as possible and what kind of components would be best to use.

I also wanted advice on how to build the Pyro's airtank on his back, especially how to best make the harness so I can wear it.

Thanks!
I believe that the flamethrower is fine... if you don't have an actual propane tank attached to it and none of the mechanics on it actually work.

So... did anyone make it to AX this year? And if so, what did you get to do/see while you were there?

Just an idea:

Since speed dating has become so popular that the demand is about 4 time greater than the supply of seat. Would it be possible to create a singles mixer? Attendants would still have to sign up, receive a time slot, and show their id to prove that they are 18 years old to attend this event. This would allow more people to participate in the event and still have the assurance that they are talking to someone that is 18 and looking to find someone.
I like this idea and would happily support it.

How far along are you all? I just started my Masters program last fall semester. I am working towards being a game designer.
#32
Really? What are you all studying?
#33
Hey everybody!!

What's everyone been up to?

There are so many in my state, but getting to them, or paying for a room, makes it hard for me to go. And the fact that I would have to call off work to go, and I can't afford to do that.
#35
If I had more money, and a lot more time, I would try to go to every big con out there. But alas, I cannot. T_T

My thoughts exactly. And they could do the swap meet in there as well on the days that they don't have a dance going on.

At first glance it may look like it's going to be an office building, but in fact it's just an expansion of the convention hall with a ballroom, more rooms for con related things and an outdoor event space.

You should read up on it...

Sadly, I don't think the construction will be done by then, though we can hope that it will be. Cause once it is, that just means more rooms for other stuff for the con itself.

I have noticed that the convention itself hasn't been as entertaining as it was a few years ago, but I am thinking that is in part due to the Earthquake for the 2011 con and this years power outage. I am hoping that it turns out better next year. And if not, I know I will have more fun since we are planning this meet up a little bit better and a whole lot earlier then last time. Haha

I just remembered... there was someone dressed up as sexy Thelma from Scooby-doo, and I really regret not get a pic, let alone talk to her. :(
