I just changed how email is being sent, and hopefully that should help with the slow deliveries some people are seeing.

At some level, it's just going to come down to server load when faced with the power of Anime Fandom. So give it a reasonable chance, but if you are waiting hours, do go back to the website and hit the re-send button - the delivery method in use now should hopefully be a big improvement.

This is what happens when you mix me bug-hunting with several days of sleep-deprivation O.O - another day of bugs and I'd probably start randomly posting Rick Astley on form pages, or start applying Z̠̙̫̰͚̈́ȁ̘̻̟̘̳̂̈́l̲̘̱͕͍̾ͦ̈͐͆̆̐ͅǵ̣̜ͪͪͨͮo̮̣̹̟̼̬͆̾̊̐ͪ effects to people's Fan Names...

wow... the webserver logfile is scrolling by too fast to read.

soooo many unexpected problems, but the site is finally up.
That must mean I can go get some sleep now.

There's some rough edges, CSS i didn't have time to finish, etc... but that's not worth delaying things even further. stylesheet touchups can wait. Prereg can't.

Now watch something blow up the second i step away from the computer...

Registration / Re: Fan name character limit?

Yes, it is currently 100 characters. The form is only validated when you submit it, not on the client side, so your web browser will probably allow most any length. You'll get an error after it's submitted about any problems like it being too long.

Note: The name will be compressed in the horizontal direction until it fits the badge label. It's hard to predict exactly when this becomes a problem, as some characters are wider than others ("i" vs "M" for example), but I doubt it will be a problem unless you go /really/ crazy with a long name.

If you were shown a duplicate entry on the invoice page (before PayPal), that bug should be fixed now. Just refresh the checkout page, and it should be corrected.

On the chance you proceeded to PayPal anyway, and PayPal also showed a duplicate entry, email registration@fanime.com and let us know, and I can regenerate an invoice ID number for PayPal to fix it.

Sorry for the trouble!  :-\

I've uploaded many fixes to registration.fanime.com that should fix several of the problems people may have had.

In particular, if you tried to enter a Zip/Postal Code that was not in the American style "12345" or "12345-6789" formats and got a crash page, you should be able to submit the form now.

Also, if you were one of the handful of people that tried to create a new account around 3:30AM-4:30AM this morning (2010-11-06), the major crash bug you got has been fixed as well. I accidentally uploaded the wrong version to the server. :(

Sorry for the trouble!
