my question i also want to ask is if it's possible to "REQUEST" an art that you like!..

the lady on the umbrella reallly looked amazing but when I pick up a badge.. i got something...less than the special image i liike O_O! (wtf a cat? / rabbit? / Dog? / insert bizarre animal.

am I the only strange person collecting an item that no one seem to care of?

although i felt bad for artist alley (i was one of the artist alley venues -_-!) and I hated the south hall building soooooo very much.

but yeah registration for swap meet usually comes near last after artist alley registrationg comes up...

Two words- swap meet. It's only on day zero and day one it's where I do most of my shopping.

I want to agree because day zero is only worth it to have friends around playing board games while waiting in the line! that way your open to have time on the other days.

Swap meet day zero is the only good event people like to go.

the only draw back with day zero is a series of unfortunate events (black outs, lack of communication, misplacements (the black out example they were moving people in groups and eventually our group got lost and went into a big walk around the hotel)

Sadly I don't think either plan works! Remember we have new staff and new rulings! The conventin is getting bigger and bigger that there are two conventions one for clockworks alchemy and one for fanime. With that being said, I don't think any plan would work for fanime's housing because there are some people who pre-registered during the convention and did not receive their confirmation notices.

just be glad it wasn't like last yea (front door closed, back door open!)

Hello my name is hachimitsu (Male - Age 31) and I would like to let you know I book a hotel and I have a few friends wanting to stay over, downside is I am very certain that they wont make it due to "personal business".

The last room mates i had were very polite and awesome and the most troublesome part was that our experience from last year wasn't that very thoughtful (fanime construction, long lines, and me being late due to artist alley). I did the very best i could to please them and in the end, it turn out alright O_O! I hope v_v!

I know this is expensive to you but to me, your helping paying the hotel, followed by having your very own key as well

if you are traveling from a different state (not california), I will be kindful in return with something nice. (I can't tell you because its something that makes you happy...sorta)

yeah apparently I got the hilton by luck because seriously this was a shock to me that the website housing shuts down not once but twice before i can manage to get the hilton. then i tried agian to get one for my sister (girls and boys room and such) and by then marriot was gone, then an error came saying I was from ALBANIA! tried again, used my card, and i got an error and says I should call housing administrations (but their phone lines are busy). by then hilton is sold out and i wanted hyatt! since i was desperate! very lucky but i lost thursday!

I really hope you get in through the waitlist because you get the higher advantage over everyone else.

on the bright side, at least its not as bad as when the hotels was Screwed up and people who thought the main page supposed to open, people from facebook / twitter had the back door entrance!

as a great idea this sounds, it would cause a lot of confusion and traffic problems!
There has been like some rulings stating no signs allowed in the convention because it would either disrupt the flow of traffic or promoting one's self for services.. I don't know but fanime has a complete set of rules to keep everything at peace!

As for the folding table, i think this wasn't allowed unless its part of a cosplay prop you made so you may have to deal with con ops!

I remember someone told me that con ops was not allowed to cosplay (not sure why but wasn't sure if this is true)

really am sorry to break the news to you but there are some rules you can bend abit...or if your lucky, con-ops will looked the other way >_>!

it's pretty much the cosplay props making, as you can tell some uses power tools (like me) to cut the damn foam boards but then again i can always pre built them and have them painted or so.

I guess what i am asking is what will be available on the meet up O_O! I know power is one of the issues, the other is probably asking for help and assistance but i know everyone else is busy with their things as well..

A great example would be the group I sometimes call, "THE INSERT LADIES" or "The Swap Meet Ladies". I'm sure you've seen them, there's hardly any con I've seen that I haven't seen them at.
Their group usually consists of roughly 3 large chinese women (all usually large and wearing glasses, look like classic Fujoshi) who buy Japanese anime magazines, tear out the inserts, promo goods, etc... and then SELL them for INSANE prices, convincing buyers that their goods are actually worth 5x what they should be.

If these ladies are breaking the rules, can someone report them this year?  Possibly contact Fanime staff before tomorrow to let them know of their actions? 

last year some buyers looked at my items, looked up ebay/amazon/etc. for the value of my item(s), and then bought it at the price I was asking (or asked for a discount.)

I don't think reporting it would help since they will defend that the product is open...besides i already ask if thats legal and one of the rovers said "as long as its an open product for sale, then they aren't breaking any rules.

as for the Smart phone deal, yeah, expect alot of people doing this and will negotiate using via smart phone... but you have a right to denied it and tell them to move along...

Unfortunately, I'm very busy with working the convention. I can't make Sunday work. This day and time has worked well since 2009, but we can try for Sunday next year if that will help for your future plans.

I am kinda surprise you mention I knew one of the ladies! they aren't that bad, just.. I don't know what to say but am very sure they have their reasons!...

even though i am against new products being used to resell for higher income goods. Doesn't mean your making a profit....
I mean just how much are the sellers really losing here? and how can they manage to break even before re-earning your losses? (paying the hotels...then registration.. ...then swap meet registration...then parking... in that order!)

You also noticed that most items back then (sailor moon character artbooks, Kuroshitsuji Static arts, Kingdom hearts keyblade arms, Autographed voice actress Momoi signed box Seto sun, Zelda Symphony poster.. etc..)


you need to take account that you have to offer them some commission fees for finding/obtaining these rare items (trust me, its very hard to let go of something amazingly special)

You should be feeling happy that about 95% of registered swap meet users sell better things then what they can offer.

besides -_- i kinda have a hard time ignoreing people saying "would you believe i payed only $10 just for this figure and its actual cost is $50?, never got tired of hearing that!

I think dressing as Tom nook with Crazy redd does bring alot of people smile on others that it kinda does give that animal crossing sense!

I think one of them tried to do the same thing to me and I refused and asked if they are trying to resell my stuff.
