It is the same for all hotels to do the deposits.

True, but not $100/night. Most do $50/night if you use debit, $300 flat if you use cash and as for credit, it really varies. Some don't charge the deposit at all, some charge you just a flat $50 charge, it depends.

But yeah, Fairmont's deposit policy is one of the heftier ones.

Oui, precisement. Since we were planning on paying in cash upfront to avoid debit/credit problems, I called the SJ Crowne Plaza - for cash payment they ask for $50/night in deposit on top of total room charge + gov't taxes, as opposed to the Fairmont's $300 in deposit on top of total room charge + gov't taxes. Bleh.

Thank you so much for that heads up. Immediately dived for a Crowne Plaza room and canceled my Fairmont one. xD Moment the Fairmont told me about the $300 cash deposit on top of room charge up front, I bailed right quick. =x

I don't know if this is the place to post it, but I just called the Fairmont to ask about their deposit policy, and it is as follows:

If you pay with credit/debit card, the deposit is $100/night on top of the room charge.

If you pay with cash, the deposit is $300 flat on top of the room charge, all expected upfront in cash.

...though it would be helpful since there seemed to be some confusion over it. ^^;

Oh, and in regards to using the same card to check in/pay that you used to reserve via Fanime housing, last year I reserved via Fanime housing with my own debit card, and at check in, my g/f used her credit card to pay. There were no problems there. They didn't even ask for my card that I used to reserve. =D

(Early) spring cleaning, and I randomly found this in my box of shtuff. I've seen it go on ebay anywhere from $20 to $50 to even $70, so I have no idea if this thing's got any value, but I figure there're some FFVII fans out there who'll care enough about it not to have it sitting 'round in a box. =D

So I guess I'll ask $25 shipped in the U.S., OBO? x) Thanks!

Here's pics...it's tiny so it's hard to take a good piccu of.

Thanks for looking! If you're interested, just reply here or drop me a PM~

Someone sleeping in the tub...huh, that just made me think how startling it would be to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, haha.

Anyhow, mkay. Thanks for answering my question. x) Just wanted to make sure.

Hmm, on this thread then, is having three to four people in a king-bedded room (the ones at the Fairmont were the only ones left now, haha, but I assume they are intended for one to two people) counting as 'stuffing' or is that okay in terms of legality/fire safety/etc.?

Would one of these make a good uniform or are you looking for something less lolita styled?

I know I'm quoting a wayyyyyyyyy old post and that people have already said that yes, lolita =/= maid, but just to further frighten away anyone who might have considered buying from that place...

Definitely not a good idea. =/

Hotel and Facilities / Re: 2010 Discount & Hotel Booking
November 17, 2009, 11:43:01 AM
A tad OT, but at Fanime '09 my friends and I sorta' effed up our planning for our room, and it turned out we couldn't fit in my friend who flew in from Texas.

We were staying at the Fairmont, so he just bought a room the day of (Friday to Monday) and they were nice enough to give him the discount on the spot even though he didn't go through the Fanime hotel booking system. =o

Judging by that, the hotel you already booked with might be kind enough to just apply the discount if you call them once Fanime has theirs up.

Since the 19th is the 'parade,' does that mean people do not cosplay on any of the other days?

Never been before. Just...don't want to show up and be the only one cosplaying on a different day. xD;
