Hello,
So when it says no live steel, does that mean none at all, anywhere? Or that the majority of the prop cannot be metal? I am in the beginning stages of making this:

Most of it will be made of PVC pipe, but I was going to use thin aluminum for the handle. Sorry if this is a silly question. Thanks!

Feel free to look and spread these albums to anyone you know.

I went both Saturday and Sunday. Most pictures I took were in the Dealer's Hall on Saturday, while most of the pictures from Sunday are mostly a mix between the Dealer's Hall, the Puella Magi Madoka Magica gathering, and the Touhou Gathering.
If you'd like the original photo, send me a PM with an e-mail to send it to.

This is my Saturday, May 28 album: https://picasaweb.google.com/104349729183438434653/Fanime2011SaturdayMay282011?feat=directlink

This is my Sunday, May 29 album: https://picasaweb.google.com/104349729183438434653/Fanime2011SundayMay292011#

These video channels aren't mine, but they contain photo slideshows of photos taken during Fanime.

I was just about to post the link to HerMajestyTQ's video. Mostly because I am HerMajestyTQ.  :D Here's the direct link to my Fanime 2011 video;

I have somewhere around 200 photos from Friday, Saturday, and Sunday!

I went as Mami Tomoe from Puella Magi Madoka Magica for most of Fanime. Here's a reference picture:

I would love to see pictures!  :D

Personally, I liked the hug line too. However, it seems quite a few of the people in line got a bit rowdy, hence why hug signs are no longer allowed. *shrugs* I'll miss the hug signs too, but I understand why Fanime decided to rule them out.

Dealers Room / Re: Money spent on items
April 27, 2011, 11:43:28 PM
I almost always spend somewhere around 200 dollars. I usually try to bring somewhere around 250-300 dollars, though. Never hurt to have a little extra cash to splurge some more.  :D Any less than 200 I won't have enough money for everything I want.

This will be my third year at Fanime, and I'm going to be turning 14 about a week before the convention. I find Fanime is generally a safe place to be. There's almost always tons of people around, even walking towards hotels in the surrounding area will usually have you surrounded by people.

However, that doesn't mean you shouldn't take precautions. As others have said, it's important to use the buddy system. Especially at night, when you're going to your hotel. And especially if you're taking a bus or shuttle to your hotel, since there will likely be less people around. As long as you stay in a group, you should be fine. I have personally never had any problems at Fanime before.

I'm a sports fan, but I'm mostly only interested in baseball. As pathetic as it is, it's one of the only sports where I understand what's going on. I've been a huge Giants fan since, well, forever. I also cheer for the 49er's, but don't expect to actually understand what's going on.  :D

Sounds awesome. I'd love to go if I can make it.  :D I'm thinking by the time Fanime is over, my 3DS won't know what to do with all the Mii's I'll have on there...

I live in a medium (at best) sized town, and I was extremely surprised when I came home one day and had streetpass activity. I have apparently only passed by one person with a 3DS. I'm surprised I even got that, to be honest.

I love this idea, and really hope it comes into fruition.  :D I'd love to go if this ends up happening!

Panels and Workshops / Re: Baked goods panel
March 20, 2011, 11:18:49 AM
I hope this comes into fruition! I'd love to go. Especially after my disastrous attempt at making melon pan before, this would definitely be a panel that pertains to me.  :D

As absolutely impossible as it may be, I would love to see Gen Urobuchi at Fanime.  :D

Hi! This year I hope to make it to the gathering as Shauntal from Black and White's Elite Four. I'm not sure if I'll cosplay her yet, but if I do, I'll be sure to go to the gathering.  :D

Hi! I'm cosplaying a character with a gun. I understand guns seem to be especially cracked down upon at Fanime, so I decided it would be best to ask if the gun I have is alright.  :) It's a 37 inch long toy musket rifle. Here's a picture:

It looks rather realistic and is a cap gun. Of course though, I will not be bringing caps. I plan on super gluing/hot gluing the orange tip on and removing the trigger completely to make it even more obvious that it's fake. Will this be alright? I didn't realize until after ordering it online that it might be a bit too realistic.  Hopefully it's alright!

I'm having the exact same problem. I'm glad to see it's not just me having difficulties. ._.; Hopefully it's fixed soon!

General Anime Chat / Re: America's Greatest Otaku
March 17, 2011, 11:50:05 PM
I was skeptical when I first heard of this. The first thing they did wrong was the name. Seriously? Otaku? Do they not realize how much of a negative stigma that has attached to it, especially in Japan? It's not something you would be proud to call yourself.

But since it was Tokyopop, a manga publishing company, I gave it a try. It's a company that should know a decent amount about anime/manga, and aren't out to make fun of convention goers and anime/manga fans like other shows would/have done. I got halfway through the first episode and gave up. Not because I thought it was particularly bad; I was just extremely bored. :D I might give it another try, but I dunno.

Panels and Workshops / Re: Wig Styling Panel?
March 12, 2011, 12:55:39 AM
Love this idea. I'm completely clueless when it comes to wigs. That said, I hope this suggestion doesn't sound stupid/too complicated: Maybe talk about the basics for wefting a little bit? I think that would be rather helpful for newbies to wigs. I know it would definitely be helpful to me.  :D
