Post by: ININ on November 02, 2007, 10:33:17 AM

I might want to do CITP with friends this year. But not the ballet part though.
Put me down for a maybe.

I'd like to go ice skating at CitP too. It's about $10 w/skate rental (discount with SJSU Tower Card).

If you don't know how to skate, it's even funnier.

Psh it's only funny when you're not the victim.  ;)

I remember my first day of ice skating....

Me: *loses balance and falls backward*
Employee: *skates to me* Are you alright?
Me: I'm fine. This is my first time...
Employee: I can tell.

Yeah, the prices.  What my Mom does is buy a group of tickets for a discount and we sit along the left edge so we can see the final scene.  That was 1999 and I'm sure the group policy changed since.

This sounds like fun. I've only ever seen The Nutcracker on TV, but never in real life.

I think I can go, but could I get a ride from you?

My sister took ballet lessons when she was little.  She was an extra in the opening scene.  My family and I got backstage access and saw Dennis Nahat.  We saw one dress rehiersal where the dancers were in full costume and orchastra was playing, too.

Wow, I feel so 'cultured' in the last year, ive been to disneyland, lost in a national forrest, gone to several lolita gatherings, seen musicals, plays and even Avenue Q (twice!!!  :P) and of course an operetta.

Hmmm... ballet huh?

I always used to hear about the SF nutcracker, I didnt realize there was a San Jose company as well, but it makes sense.

Hey ININ, if or when you decide a date of choice, I'd be interested in checking it out.

of course my vote would be for the cheap seats, but its looks to be an interesting show.

I need to start more 'holiday' traditions now that I'm starting my own family...  :P

Please keep me posted. Thanks!

Hey Jerry, you should check out that opera I pimped at the backup boards if you want to continue feeling cultured. hehe

Looks good, technically I could afford it (hoping for a nice Xmas bonus this year...)
and of course willing to car pool.

Is this going to be a black tie event? It's been a while I've needed to wear a Tux or new even suit.

and to think the last little black dress I saw was back in January...  :D

give me a good reason to enjoy a nite on the town with a good of old friends.

Business semi-formal is good.  No jeans, t-shirts, and sneakers.  Guys, wearing a tie is highly recommended  :)

Tickets are purchased.  There is a $6.00 fee per ticket.  Total per ticket is $36.00.  I ordered by phone to choose the best seats.  I can't choose ordering online.

We are located on the first floor, left side along the aisle, rows 10, 11, and 12.  These are the best tickets with maximum view including seeing the final scene =)  Doors open at 6:30pm.  Seating begins at 7:00pm.  Pics of Marie, The Nutcracker, and the Mouse King are available free.  Bring cameras.

Do we want to eat dinner before Nutcracker or after walking in Christmas In the Park?

Anyone else can join us.  You just have to buy your tickets on your own  ;)

now that i have a 2nd job, i think i should be able to get off early enough to catch the show in time.

Also I would like to take this opportunity to request a possble semi early meet up before the show to check out X-mas in the park a take a few photos. say around 6pm ish?

since i decided not to get a tree after all, I'll take absorbing any Xmas cheer thru other means...

too bad, i do miss our Xmas tree adventures from last year.

then again this semi-formal thing with a show is a nice new tradition too ^_^

The best time for pics at Christmas In the Park is at night when the tree lights are turned on.  At 6pm, it's going to be dark XD

How "formal" with this event be?

I usually wear the business casual stuff to the office all the time, and I haven't had the budget to buy a new suit...

I'll see what I could manage before the show.

I know a certain someone *cough cough*  ::)
who may attack me if I show up looking like this:
(https://forums.fanime.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Ffarm2.static.flickr.com%2F1216%2F529805172_3d1df1271f.jpg%3Fv%3D0&hash=0505776adcbef2e66d64cbbee08209b690adf426)

But who knows...  ???
I'll probably end up going in Jeans because I'll forget to do my laundry... :P

There is one class in TF2 who is literally dressed to kill, and that is the spy class (see my sig pic).  He dresses up in a pinstripe suit and tie... and wears a bacalava to avoid the paparazzis and fangirls.  :P
