Title: Thank you fanime staff
Post by: ash on May 06, 2014, 05:43:06 AM
I would like to take time to thank the fanime reg staff for listening to everyone and changing to group reg back to less then 5 people. It really shows you guys do care about what us fans have to say. For that I wanna thank you guys.

I've done so twice on the Facebook page but I'll echo the above statement here as well.  Thanks for allowing us to combine memberships into smaller groups!

To be very frank, it's actually a lot more work for us to do the group registration using the form we are using since we'll need to manually validate all information in the form.

In the least, I'm very glad some people are very happy about this.

We are listening to your feedback and we will do all we can to provide exceptional service given the circumstances and constraints we all have - mainly being a volunteer run convention. ^______^

Yeah.. Is that going to slow down reg? I figured the five person minimum was because deregistering groups took so long.

Deregistering?

It actually shouldn't slow down reg during our open hours at all. It essentially just adds more tasks for me and my team to do pre-con.

But if it makes people happy, then I suppose it's worth it! ^____^

Thanks for attending FanimeCon 2014 guys, hope to see you all there.

I imagine that this is probably going to add many hours to the pre-con workload to manually change this over. Hopefully people do not take this change lightly and they recognize that this is essentially several additional unpaid volunteer hours that went into this change. I know I'm grateful.

I think it will end up being beneficial to the registration lines, as well. Less people in line = smaller lines, and a least a fraction of the time (between serving each attendee at the booth) will be eliminated. Even if it's only a few seconds of difference, multiplied by thousands, it'll be noticeable.

I would like to add my thanks for letting us do the smaller groups.  This way my roommate can get our things in the room while I grab our badges, as we've done in years past =).  One question, though.  Will we get an email if the grouping is successful, or only if there was a problem and it didn't work?

Yes, we will email you if there is a problem. If the grouping is successful, we will send out an email to all parties with the email addresses listed with the updated e-postcard/confirmation email (I believe. We still need to work out the specifics actually).

Thanks for explaining that and even more thanks again for taking on the extra task of offering this to us!

Yes, thank you for bringing back small groups. We've never had more than maybe 4, usually 3 people, and it's so much easier for me to be the Leader and send the others to get into the hotel or get food while I'm waiting. Especially as I'm the local and handle all the money.
