Between Fanime and seeing/rooming with my best friend, who I haven't seen in a year, it's worth it!

Aww that's sweet! :)

Wahoo I'm going to JoAnn's tomorrow to buy fabric for me and my friend's lolita stuff =) Tomorrow shall be Cosplay Work Day!

2. Go to cosplay gatherings
3. Go to random other stuff
4. ???
5. PROFIT!

I never have a schedule. I just go where I go and do what I do... it's all the spur of the moment kinda thing.

Dealers Room / Re: Would you buy....

If you have plenty of selection then I'd consider buying from you. As people already have said, price does matter and would reflect if people do buy from you or not.

For me personally, I am interested in the kind of accessories you would be selling since I wouldn't bring enough money for the nice, pretty kimonos.

Tabi are those ninja shoe/slippers right?
$10? Thats pretty cool.

They're Japanese socks that separate the big toe from the other toes. uhh... that's all I really know about them.
Well Wikipedia is always your friend for this kind of thing:

Naruto Freeze Tag Questions
I agree with clawmaster. I wouldn't want to run around with my stomach full because that will cause not-so-fun stomachaches.

I also think that 3 person squads should be any kind of mixture because it would be too difficult to find perfect squads that matched the anime/manga. Not everyone will want to play freeze tag so we may not have enough people to match the actual squads.

If all your members are frozen (and there is no one to defrost them since they all are frozen), would that cause that squad to be automatically it?

Also for rule "2) After Round One the last three people that froze will be it." So if there's three people frozen, they're automatically it? But they might not be in the same squad so wouldn't that cause some confusion? I don't know how you'd fix this rule though.

what do you do at naruto gatherings?
To have fun and take pictures! Also to meet new people who like Naruto too =D

I got more sketches of lolita-style Naruto and Sasuke that my friend drew. We started planning out our accessories and we'll be buying fabric next weekend for our dresses.

Sasuke purse:

All the old sketches:

All of these sketches are just rough sketches. We have other ideas that will be implemented into what my friend and I will be wearing.

Oh edit:
My friend's sn on these forums is loveoflolita. She's cosplaying as lolita-style Naruto Naruko. I dunno if she'll ever post (she just made the screen name for the forums) but you can list her as loveoflolita instead of "Friend" on the cosplayers list.

Bingo? How exactly will that work? The only kind of Bingo I can think up is when you have the letters of BINGO for each column and then the numbers that correspond to their specific columns.
I don't get how you're making it Naruto-related. Just curious. =)

Anyway, have fun moving to your new place BrightHeart!

(About Twister, not a big fan of that game. Just my opinion though.)

Dealers Room / Re: Question about hand-made plushies
February 24, 2008, 02:48:09 PM
Big company giants like Disney and Square Enix aren't gonna hunt down every single person who makes plushies of their characters because it wouldn't be worth it. As long as you aren't making HUGE profits, then they won't bother you.

Technically, cosplay would be considered copyright infringement too but people sell cosplay stuff anyway so it's the same thing.

Dunno about the rules for Fanime though. Just a heads up on lawsuit stuff.

a.f.k has a tendency to pick up good series.

Ditto. I've kept up with them and have been completely satisfied from their choices.

I've been keeping up with the Zoku series/season/whatever myself but so far, I like the first one better. It's still cool with it's craziness, but I prefer the first one for some reason.

And since i don't have much (or any) friends it'll just be my sister and I.

Don't worry about that. You can pretty much go up to anyone and start a conversation with them (if you aren't too shy). If you are shy, just start going to cosplay gatherings so you can meet people who likes the same game/manga/etc and it'll be easier to strike up a conversation since you at least know one of their interests since... well they're wearing cosplay from the series of the gathering =D Everyone is really nice and awesome~! =D

Konychiwa Otaku elite and all sub-species of anime/manga fan(Genshiken),

In order to make Freeze Tag more interesting I suggest that a 3-person(or 4-person like Shippudden) squad be it. In my opinion I think it'd be cool to see everyone vs. three. We could all draw sticks and the people w/three short sticks are "It". Then after the 1st round the last three (or four) that froze are it. This will be good way to practice team work(i.e. how to defrost someone and keep your self away from the squad that's "It".
P.S. What does everyone think about my idea for Freeze Tag(Naruto style)!?

(random: I love Genshiken! One of my favorite manga out there because it's so true to otaku lifestyle XD It hits right at home. =3)

I really like your idea for Freeze Tag: Naruto-style. I dunno about the point of just a 3-person squad as "it" since it depends on how many people are playing. We might have a LOT of people who wanna play so it depends who's interested. Most likely though, it'll probably suffice.
Would there be rules like "You can only unfreeze your own 3-person squad" because then it would make the game more challenging. If you could unfreeze whoever, the people who are "it" would be "it" for a long time.

Dealers Room / Re: Anime Contact Lenses
February 21, 2008, 08:04:58 PM
Usually, the more expensive the colored contact lenses, the longer they last.
For example, let's say you buy bright red contacts for 40 bucks. They would be a nice bright red for the first few wears but after a while they will fade over time and not be bright red anymore. If you buy red contacts for $200, then they would last for years since the more expensive ones tend to be hand-painted and with better quality coloring agents.

Now it's always a case in point by user since it depends on how many times you wear them and how you take care of them.

I also recommend getting a prescription from your eye doc since your eyes may not be capable of wearing contacts in the first place (for example, you might have astigmatism). Also, you want the best fitting pair since eyes are different sizes just like height, feet, etc.

I definitely would love to play freeze tag~! I haven't played that since elementary days. =) and that can involve a lot of people at once. :3

For lunch, I think people should just branch out on their own if they wanna eat out. I'm probably gonna go with my friend to eat and if I meet some people at the gathering, we can all go eat out together. ^_^

i love my school i get to go to fanime as a feild trip on friday ^_^

O_O; Your previous post said you're from Fremont, CA (me too~!) What school is allowing you to do this? I wanna go as a field trip... >_> I'm going right after school.

The Japanese cultural club at American HS talked about giving a discount for the ticket to fanime if you're an active member (well that's what my friend told me when she went to the meeting today).
oh i go to irvington
just curiosue do you go to the fremont conventions? i know some people who go there that go to american

I went to one last year or the year before last year... I don't remember, I just know it was at a teen or community center. I only went because my friend told it to go. I don't even know the date. XD She saw it in the local paper.

If I knew when and where the cons are, I would go to more! =D (I saw in your signature there's one in the summer? Where? When? =D I'd love to go~~~~!)

Oh, geez, no.  The Rock Band guitar and I do not get along at ALL.  Give me a Guitar Hero guitar any day.

Agreed. I like the clicking noise of the GH guitar when you know you strum. When I do those repetitive notes in Rock Band and use that guitar, I never know if I'm strumming it correctly or not unless I stare at the multiplier to see if it changes.
