There really aren't any cheaper hotels within walking distance of the con. The cheapest rates you can really get are through the FanimeCon housing. Downtown San Jose is expensive on it's own, plus it's a holiday so that adds to cost. Finally, hotels are well aware of FanimeCon's existence so prices can be raised a bit for that as well.

^Not in particular~ I'm at work though, so I get tempted by all the espresso drinks and pastries all night! @_@

Perhaps we should have a meeting to discuss what we want to do with this? If it hasn't already been submitted, we have to get on it and I think a meeting would be a good way of getting everything settled at once.

^ Not quite. I remember when they were like $20 (+tax), I was a wee little girl of about 6 who would stand in front of the Sailor Moon VHS display and beg for one every time we were at Wal-Mart. Sometimes it would work. Sometimes not. I still have a large collection of them though... <3

^ I LOVE seafood. Not a big fan of fish for the most part, but shellfish is amazing! And squid is my favourite food!

I remember the first time I saw the commercial for The Colony and I was sooo excited.
I'd be so down for this sort of thing, it's right up my alley.

I'd love to test myself out in this sort of apocalypse setting and see how far I go as an average joe with no special traits or training that would help.

Has anyone tried the FB connection thing through the main site? I have and it was pretty interesting, actually.
