No hand trucks is a rule, but I don't know about this "single trip" thing.
You can't leave your stuff unattended and there's limited help to move you to your space, so it will be a lot easier with someone helping you, but I don't think there's any strict rule about moving everything in a single trip.
You DO have to have all your stuff together and ready so staff can verify it all at once; no bringing in additional stuff once you've checked in.

They may just have run out of Fanime stuff at Clockwork. Regardless, once you have a badge you shouldn't have to wait in line at Fanime for that stuff, just nab a bag from the table.

The blue might not be bright enough. Also make sure that you can't even pull the trigger. It doesn't matter if it does anything, if it has a trigger it has to be glued in place.

You could go to Clockwork Alchemy for badge pick-up, they historically have much shorter wait times. I'd wait to see if Linecon is back again this year before getting in line at Fanimecon.

There's usually a thread about props and peacebonding in the Cosplay subforum but I don't see one for this year. I did a search on the forums and the only mention of frying pan I could find was from 2012. My friend has done a cosplay with a mini frying-pan as a prop for a few years.

« on: March 27, 2017, 04:25:47 PM »World building - my friend is interested in a panel that can help explore how to build worlds for writers, game developers, etc, possibly from someone with experience in that area and how they made their fictional world, what worked for them, what helped them get creative and how to keep it all organized.
I'd definitely like to be on this - Worldbuilding's a special passion of mine. I've actually written a book on it with more coming. A lot could be done with this.
One subject that's also near and dear to my heart is how Worldbuilding differs with forms of media - a game, an anime, and a novel often require different levels of attention.
I'd go to a Wordbuilding panel, especially if it was hosted by someone who wrote a book about it. If it can't happen at Fanime proper I'm sure it'd fit in at Clockwork Alchemy.

« on: March 27, 2017, 04:21:45 PM »just a reminder..speaking as someone who has worked with a car show at sjcc in the past (and not as a fanime staff member). sjcc is a UNION venue, meaning that (a) the owners can't drive their own cars in to south hall (a union driver has to) and (b) there is a gate fee for every car (and it's quite expensive)
Hmmm... how expensive is it compared to the usual parking fees?

I'm buying a weekend badge for Fanime, but my friend will not be attending Fanime at all. However, both of us want to share a space and sell at Swap Meet. Is this possible?
Sellers are allowed a helper, but I think they need to be registered too. Can't find a definite answer in previous years.

If the friends I usually go to Fanime with are going to CRX next year I'll probably go to it over Fanime. Fanime's fun but I don't feel that there's a lot of variety from year to year.
