I have a panel on sunday, maybe I can help.

Last week folks! I still need a confirmed model for the panel.

I'll miss him I'm a big SG1 collector and I was hoping "Ergo" would come to a con. Funny man.
Did you know he has the same body mesurment as Loni Anderson? It;s true, her waist and his neck.

This is my first year at fanime and I'm really lookinmg forward to it, and yes I'm going alone. Of course, I'm also doing panels there so I've got things to do and so forth. But I do hope to meet lots of people , it sounds like a great con!

This is part of a group of materials called thermoplastics. I can't tell you which one. They're available in sheets of various thicknesses and have different heat requirements. Douglas and Sturgess if SF carries these.
Does that help?

Panels and Workshops / How to make armor panel
April 29, 2009, 11:13:30 PM
I will also be doing a armor panel.
I'll talk about castingresin armor, using flexable slip to make leather armor, cheap scale armor and maybe even "bio"armor ( insert creepy sound)
#50
That's also something we c ould talk about at my armor panel.

That depends...
First, a karage kit is usually something cast and manafactured at home ( hemce the term garage) usually without permission.
Second, nuying the kit does not give you rights to display it and way you want. Try taking one of Geoprge LUcas's caracters and show them in a unflattering light and someone will get some form of cease and decist.
But I digress,
I thought this was about kits either made by a fan or at least a regulat kit that has been severly altered by a fan. I like garage kits and I'd love to see more of them. I think they help the  genre and don't usually undercut the original artist.

I'd like to see that but it probably wont happen because of copyright laws.

Great questions!
The Body casting is at 10 and the props is at 4 ( both on sunday).
I'll be talking about Latex, urithane and silicone as standard materials as well and some things you may have a round the house. I'll talk about glove molds, blanket molds and multipart molds. Casting resin, polyester acrylic and wax, fillers, aggregates and releases.
What would you like to see?
As for the the bases with the streched urithane, I don't think thta's what they did. email me a pic and I'll see what I can tell you, as for size... until 2003 we did casting up to 60 tons so there is no size limit to what you can do , only what what you can afford.
More questions please!

Like so many things, I need more info. I wont be covering vacuform unless they have me a armor panel( they might) and I don't know what the piece is you're talking about. If you can log onto youtube and send me a bit if video, that would help/ Or you could send some pics to my regular email addy
[email protected]
Or bring it with you and I'd be happy to make suggestions.

Hotel and Facilities / Re: Hotel Deposits
April 24, 2009, 12:22:49 AM
The Horel impression of you may come from different sources, AKA " everyone at the con is wierd". I used to be a dealer and had a suite reserved and confirmed for me but when they found out I was with the con they "lost " all my info. I pressured them ( I had all my info with me, who I spoke to  , etc.) and eventually they found a suite with a 1400 dollar deposit AND I had to sign a contract specifing what could happen in the room and things that would terminate my stay ( this included trying to dive into the pool from my 12th floor hotel balcony). And when I left they didn't have my deposit ready for me, it had to be mailed at a later date.

I had a ORIGINAL PONG. The controler was the size of a small loaf of bread and had 2 knobs on each end. When you hit the ball it would always fly straight back so you always had to turn the "english" knob ( yes a english knob on a japanese game). And it didn't have different screens , you had to tape a  piece of trasparent plastic to play a "different" game that was just like pong except for the platic "screen". I was terrible! And expensive!
