Hotel and Facilities / Fanime 2012 housing, Marriott
November 26, 2011, 05:06:40 PM
Hello,

Just a question about Marriott for 2012, did Fanime already have a discounted offer earlier last year?  Tried to reserve on Marriott's website but it said it was booked.

Hi All,

I was wondering if we have the chance to change hotels later on in the future?  I really wanted to book with Marriott since I booked with them last year.  Marriott says if you had stayed with them, along the way there is a free room after ten or so stays.    Last year, Fanime had a waitlist for a specific hotel, but I don't know if the same idea is applied this year

Please let me know about this as soon as possible.  I booked at Fairmont, but I'm not really interested in staying there, since it's kinda not connected with the hotel.  I'd really love to have a smooth transition to bring stuff downstairs from swap meet over on Thursday and Friday.

Thanks for your trouble,

Bobby

Hello Everyone,

The Japanese Art and Cultural Center will have a Halloween party from 1:00 to 4:00 PM.  We need some volunteers to help the kids (and adults!) get face painting. We also need some brushes donated to us too.   There is a Halloween Cosplay Competition from 1 - 2 PM for the best costume.  The prizes are donated from Mitsua, Kinokuniya, Clover Bakery, and most of the Japanese restaraunts in the area.

Please support the Japanese Art and Cultural Center.  We are a non-profit organization.  We are in dire need for some students.  We have barely any students on Wednesdays and Fridays.   I help volunteer for the Anime and Manga class on Wednesdays at 4, and now Fridays at 4.  We are good with the Saturday class.   If we do not get enough people who can attend the class, unfortunately, we would have to shut the class down on the weekdays.

I hope this message gets to people, and that it is part of your Cultural Center too.  Let's please support this, and take advantage of helping out, for the sake of keeping the center alive.

Warm Regards,

Bentoboxbobby

Hello,

I never ask help from anyone, but I am kind of in need to have someone help me coordinate these steps with me.

I'm not great at performing myself, however, I'm doing this to help a great friend.

After everyone is all rested up and stuff, I would like to thank the people who attended my panel.  I was having a cold and stuff, but I worked through it.

Just wanted to say thanks again, and God Bless!

General Anime Chat / Pianist anyone?
May 12, 2010, 06:55:10 PM

Hi There,

I was just wondering if anyone knew how to read sheet music?  I just found a site where most of the Hatsune Miku songs were in sheet music online.

If anyone is interested, let me know, otherwise, I gotta find someone else.   I'd like to film in HD with Miku fans liking the music.   I thought it would be cool to entertain people and have them try out or something to raise our spirits.

Thanks

Hi Folks,

I was wondering what is this Green Ribbon thing at Fanime?  My friend put it on Facebook, and have no clue what's it about?  Is this a Bleach thing?

Thanks

Hi There,

I just thought this morning, would there be any possibility of having a M.U.G.E.N. panel, for someone to teach us how to construct a 2-D fighting game character?

This would really be great!

Thanks,
Bobby

Hello,

I just wanted to know what are the hottest Anime Characters of 2010?
Here are some of the titles that I had polled upon:

1. Taokaka - Blazblue
2. Cloud Strife - Final Fantasy
3. Hatsune Miku - [Herself]
4. ????? - Pokemon
5. Death the Kid - Soul Eater

That's all I can think of, can someone give me some suggestions?  I would really like to create some prints, but I don't know what teens-college kids - etc... like nowadays?

Am I close or ???

Thanks
Bobby

Everyone can come! Especially in their favorite cosplay if they want. This is what one of my meetup friends wrote:

Hello,

On may 1st, expect to see thousands of people dressed as
Japanese Anime characters sipping lattes at local cafes.

Here's the current map: http://is.gd/bACtI

Click and follow directions to get your local cafe added to the
map!

Please invite more members to participate. Then take pictures
and send to:

http://facebook.com/cosplaystarbucks

It should be fun. I hope someone from the group can organize
the meet up in a particular starbucks and post the location on
the facebook fan page. I hope you can invite more cosplayers. :)

Thanks so much!

Have Fun!  Stay safe!

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone was interested in having an Ah My Goddess panel for celebration of the 20th anniversary?  It would be called Ah My Goddess 101.

The second other panel I'd like to do is the Fanimecon cosplay [time] Machine so that I could talk about my friends who are cosplay and thank them for their times that they had helped out on my Youtube channel.

If this interests anyone, please let me know.

Thanks

Hello,

I just was wondering if there would be a pool of people who's good at video editing to do something professional like this and show highlights of the Cosplay and events?

Thanks,

General Convention Discussion / Press Pass?
March 15, 2009, 01:38:14 PM

I'm new to these forums, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask if there are any chances of registering for a press pass?  Ann Oyama of Bayanime.com had asked me this question just last night.

If anyone knows, please let me know as soon as possible.

Thanks,

Ideas and Suggestions / Origami Folding
March 15, 2009, 12:54:28 AM
Just wanted to know if anyone was a master in doing this.  This would definitely take a lot of skill and possibly have an art contest.  Hideko, is a good Origami artist, and also Yoshie.

What do you think guys and gals?

Hello,

I had asked people online about making a cosplay outfit of Chiyo's dad to tailor fit me.  It's from Azumanga Daioh.  Any suggestions where I can pay to have it made?

Thanks,

Hi Everyone,

Just to let you know, there is a new meetup group that I am a voluntary assistant to.  Hideko is our founder, and also does donate her time to promote Japanese culture and language.  Anime and Manga is shared with the group, as casual networking.  Our main focus is diversity, and learning the language.  If anyone has any questions about it, feel free to email me at [email protected] or Hideko Kough - [email protected].  We also have an Origami group the day before our SJ JAM group.  For more information, here is the official website.

Thanks for taking your time to look at our message. ^^  We welcome everyone from Fanime, to socialize, and share interests.   We are a diverse group that loves and promotes Japanese culture or that are inspired by it, through variety.
