Is anyone coming from the Palmdale area or nearby that can provide a ride to Daniel? He's willing to pay for gas of course and if you're within an Amtrak train ride he'll meet you.

I think a Carpooling Thread is a good Idea. ;D I'm still deciding if I'm gonna be carpooling with some friends from Washington or if I'm on my own for that as well. Probably be taking the Train instead.

I am from Sacramento and don't have a car. Normally I ride with a friend of mine, but she cannot afford to go this year.
I'll be driving from the East Bay, but I can pick someone up at the closest BART station.
If anyone from the stockton/lodi/manteca area needs a ride I have some extra space in my car.

I may be coming from the Davis/Sacramento area depending on my work schedule, but I may not drive back up. (I'm from San Jose, so if I'm not working I'll probably stay for the week.) I just wanted to post this up just to see if there's anyone interested, but don't depend on me ... yet :D

I would love to. If I am in the area, then I will definitely take you up on that offer. I won't know entirely until closer to fanime. What days do you usually go, because I might need to be there the Thursday before. I am usually on the staff at fanime.

We have a lot of people who staff so some of them leave as early as Wednesday. Other than that we have cars leaving Thurs early afternoon, Friday pretty much all day (most of the cars leave around 1pm on Friday to get to SJ in time to get their badge on Friday) and a few cars that leave on Saturday.

I live in San Francisco by Downtown. but the horrible thing is that I'm not sure if I can be able to leave on the 25th or not because the 25th is the LAST day for finals and they love not telling it to us till midterms or LATER. Does anyone from the Sacramento area need a ride? I'm taking my car with two friends of mine!
Now, everything isn't set in stone yet because the only reason we're going to Fanime is the artist alley. If we don't get a table at the alley, the chances of me going to Fanime are zero. If I do get a table/hotel, then I'm definitely going, so please keep this in mind. I'm letting you know ahead of time just to be safe! We're going to leave Sacramento on May 24th at around 10-12PM and we're leaving on the 28th at around 5-6PM. Make sure you have a place/hotel to stay in because I'd feel really bad if I just dropped you off at the convention center without a place to stay. (Carpooling with us isn't a guarantee that you will be sharing a hotel room with us.)
If you're interested in carpooling with us, let me know via PM. All we ask is that you be over 16+ years of age and you have your parents'/guardian's permission to ride with us if you are underage. Also, a contribution of $10-12 for gas is all I need! If you're underage and your parents/guardians want to meet us before the convention starts, it's totally understandable. (We're not creepers, we swear! We're just three 21 year-old art students!)

Anybody on here going to Fanime from the OC/LA area? I'm planning to go to Fanime with a bunch of friends and am finding the price of airfare to be rather more than I'd like to spend...and while they are planning to do a group carpool, I'd like to keep my options open in case that doesn't work out. Naturally, I'd chip in for gas and snacks along the way :)

I plan on renting a car and driving from Los Angeles's San Fernando Valley in the early morning hours of Thursday and returning on Tuesday.
If people are interested, I can change my rental size. I'm sorry I don't have an exact guess on how much it is yet, but I would ask $45.00 for any riders for a share of gas and parking.

IIRC, the airport's right on the light rail line, so if all else fails you can take that. (Friends did it in years prior.) Sorry I can't help with the ride, though ~

Introduction: I'm a 26 male from Sacramento, CA and am considering doing a carpool to Fanime if I'm able to get a hotel room for the entire weekend. I'll be leaving the city either late Thursday evening or early Friday morning. And like I said, I'll be staying until Monday into the early evening (5-6 ish). So if you live in the Sacramento vicinity and would like a ride, then let me know.
Rules: It goes without saying that you must have a place to stay after we arrive at the convention. It's not my responsibility to provide you with shelter. I apologize if that came off rude, but I wanted to get the point across. Also, I ask for some gas money. This will depend on the number of people I'm carpooling. I can currently take three other individuals with me. And yes, these individuals must be at least 18 years old. It also goes without saying that these individuals must be respectful and considerate. I don't mind fun and games but be polite and conscientious of the moment. There will be no smoking or drinking allowed during the trip to and from Fanime. I also won't be providing personal transportation to outside venues once we arrive at the convention UNLESS there is room in my car and the place I'm attending coincides with your destination (i.e. we must be going to the same place). Lastly, it's your responsibility to be present when the time comes to depart the convention on Monday evening. If you're not there, you will be left behind. So have fun while you're at the con, but be responsible and mindful to the rest of us when it's time to leave.

Looking for carpoolers around Los Angeles area. I'll be leaving Thursday mid-morning and will be leaving San Jose Monday around 5pm latest, or whenever everyone is ready to leave. I already have 2 confirmed (myself and a friend in Bakersfield so one quick stop on the way) and looking for at least 2 more people. I'm driving from Los Angeles on Wednesday Afternoon and staying a night with some friends in their pad in Merced, then on Thursday morning, we're going to the hotel and leaving the convention on Tuesday morning back to Los Angeles!
We've rented a full 12-passenger van because we like elbow and cargo room! If interesed, I would ask $85 for a seat.

Hey everyone! I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but it didn't seem like it would fit in any of the other subforums. But getting down to business...
I'm looking for someone in the San Diego area who is going to and from Fanime this year who might have a spare spot in their car that I could fill with myself and contributions towards gas money. All I need is a ride to and from, and I am fairly flexible about the when and where as long I get up there. Unfortunately I don't have enough to pay for a flight and don't know anyone else here that's going this year, so I'm on the lookout for someone that I could ride with. I travel fairly light (no more than one suitcase) and would be immensely grateful if anyone in the area could provide me transportation (or knows someone who could provide me transportation).
On a related note, if anyone has any other recommendations about finding transportation to/from Fanime from where I live, that would also be immensely appreciated! I am really hoping to go to Fanime this year (it's one of the cons I've gone to every year since high school) and this is my first year in college away from the bay area. Thanks in advance for any and all help/advice!

Because I live with my parents, they will want to know some facts about the driver too, so I guess some warning about that would be good too.
