Well, I want to go to Day 0(Thursday) so I can pick up my badge and meet some Fanime con-goers. =)

where's there's a will, there's a way! making new friends at con is a wonderful thing to do, because the next year (especially if you keep in contact) it's like a big reunion! plus there's more people to stay with if you get caught in a pinch and are without a hotel room :D

Quote from: Jerry on February 12, 2010, 08:42:28 AMLol, yeesh, I am aware not to give away free food. >< Most likely I won't have anything free to give away, cept I'll be taking other cosplayers' pics for free. XDQuote from: Angelx624 on February 11, 2010, 07:04:56 PM
Lol, yay, friendly people! =P
@narutofan - I don't think that'd be a good idea. >>; Maybe you can pass around free hugs instead. :D
the unofficial ruling is that your not really recommended to hand out either pre-packaged or homemade items to the general public-
as good as your intentions are- hypothetically if someone has a food allergy or somehow develops complications due to the food it would get Fanime into trouble.
So please dont take free food unless they are "truly" your friends.
That and dont take candy from strangers.
and with the hugs... keep it civil... PLEASE DONT TURN THE REG LINE INTO THE HUG LINE... :-[
that is all.

I think cosplaying whoever your favorite anime character is cool but you have to remember that there ight be 20 other people cosplaying as that person. This ties into making your own costume. I notice that you can tell if someone has made their own costume or if they bought it online. I think you also feel more better about your cosplay if you do make it. Plus it's just fun. I love making my props the most. XD

I've worked the reg lines for the past few years now, and we're all pretty friendly trust me unless your really the impatient type, you find something to do--- new ppl to meet and have fun people watching all the same.
and dont worry- if nature calls [legit bathroom breaks], let one of us know- so we can give you your spot in line.
just dont expect me to let 1 person go to the bathroo,... only to come back with like ten friends to "jump" back into line....
it doesnt quite work that way. ;)
Quote from: michiko nakano on February 10, 2010, 08:18:55 PMMmkay then! ^^ I can always make friends with the people in line, too. :D That way I'll have people to ask cosplay questions to while I pass the time. ^^ And I love taking pictures of other cosplayers, as well. :3
yeah if you're gonna be waiting in line, do so with friends and cookies and maybe board games and you'll pass the time comfortably ^__^
also, my friend met the guy in the pedo bear suit and she said he's totally awesome and not creepy at all. just remember that inside every furry costume is just another anime fan just like you! :3
Quote from: leslie on February 08, 2010, 10:18:02 PMHeh, as I have hardly any sewing experience(yet), I buy mine..... >w<;; I know a lot of people make theirs, but if I tried to make a costume right now, I'd fail miserably. D:QuoteYou're welcome!! ^_^ I prefer cosplaying characters I like, too. =P
And I have the costume, but not the wig yet. :)
Sounds good so far! :D
I have another question for you, if you don't mind?...
I was actually wondering about this for a while, but do you make most of your cosplay costumes or do you buy them? I really am curious whether majority of people make or buy them especially when they are cosplaying multiple characters like yourself. I suppose how difficult the character's cosutme is, would be a major factor in deciding that along with many other decisions I am not familiar with yet? ???
Sorry if it seems like a silly question.
Quote from: Mint on February 09, 2010, 05:35:57 PMDang, well I wonder how it'll be in the afternoon on Friday. >>; Well waiting a couple hours won't be bad. xP I'll just keep myself busy with taking pictures and stuff. :DQuote from: PyronIkari on December 28, 2009, 04:42:30 AMQuote from: Mango Bunny on December 27, 2009, 11:25:44 PM
Not to mention you can still reg at the con, but it could be a long wait.
It's not really a long wait. Registration isn't that bad anymore. An hour maybe? Which is pretty good comparatively.
Supposedly my friend had to wait a good couple of hours last year. :x
Quote from: leslie on February 08, 2010, 12:35:27 AMYou're welcome!! ^_^ I prefer cosplaying characters I like, too. =PQuote from: Angelx624 on February 07, 2010, 05:50:41 PMQuote from: Moogleborg on February 06, 2010, 01:30:51 AMI do the same. =) I cosplay characters I not only like, but I can act like them and know their personality. So when I pose for pictures, I know how to pose. :) If the character is sweet and innocent, I do cutesy/innocent poses. If the character is more on the mean/evil/jerk side, I pose differently. You get the idea. =)
Personally, I choose character that I not only like, but those who I think that I could easily look and act like as well. ^_^ It makes me feel more comfortable and natural. ^^
Hope you have fun and find characters you wanna cosplay. ^_^ And if someone tells you, "Oh, that character is overdone!" Well, I just ignore those who say that. Who cares if they're cosplayed so much? If you love that character and want to cosplay them, then go for it! ^^ Heck, I've done popular/overdone characters and it didn't bother me. :) I kinda like the attention. >>;;
Thanks so much for the advice! I really like the idea of cosplaying as someone I really, really like, but I mean choosing a character I look like is cool too. Although I think I'll have to go with picking a character I really like vs. a charcter I look like because I do think I will enjoy it a bit more. I already have an idea for a character I can cosplay as so maybe I'll just do one character and then maybe next year I can get more into it and do a couple, I hope anyways! ;D
Btw, I like that you are going to cosplay as Konoka Konoe! I love Negima! I hope I get to see how your costume turns out. :D

Quote from: Jerry on February 04, 2010, 09:02:20 AMYesh, I keep all that in mind. ^w^ However it'll be just me and my boyfriend going, depending on where we're staying. D: But I have some friends from Sac-Anime going to Fanime so I plan to hang with them in case my boyfriend wants to go in the gaming rooms or something. xPQuote from: Angelx624 on February 03, 2010, 06:16:57 PM
Well, this will be my first time going, so thanks for the heads up. ^^; I know not to take stuff like food or drinks from strangers. o_O; You never know......... -_-;;
I'll be sure to have fun, though! =D I'm really looking forward to it. ^_^
Most newcomers to Fanime usually travel in a decently sized group. Stick with your friends, be cautious and safe while making new friends. Shower, get fed, and drink plenty of liquids, and above all get rest.
Common sense really helps and when in doubt look for [and double check the badge] for a proper Fanime Staffer - we're always here to help and encourages everyone to have fun.
Huzzah. :D
