Hello I've sent several emails and haven't gotten a response back.

My partner and I got badges for Fanime 2020 which due to covid we're roled ovwr to 2021 and now 2022.

However it seems that Fanime 2022 is missing so many features like music fest, masquerade and even the FMV contest is it possible to rollover our badges to 2023?

My wife and I also still do not feel safe going to Fanime due to covid restrictions and how many people attend. But also the fact that we paid full price but it seems we are only getting half of a conventions worth.

Would like a response, thank you.

In regards to the access point being and issue, that would only be an issue if one doesn't have a badge which to to say well one should get a badge. It actually helps the staff a lot in terms of traffic flow and people getting into the con otherwise they would need to check at every door which takes a lot of manpower. The con is getting bigger with more guests, locations and events so it's natural that the price has gotten higher. Just get badges when they become available for a good price.

Hotel Changes for FanimeCon 2014

For FanimeCon 2014, we are trying something different in order to make booking a hotel room less of a headache and more fair for our attendees. It is now going to be a requirement for our attendees to have a FanimeCon 2014 membership in order to book a hotel room.

Woah, woah, woah. What?!

So now we're punishing attendees who don't happen to have cash in hand right now from registering from a hotel room? This makes sense to you how?! Hotel rooms sell out fast and not everyone is just sitting on enough cash to pay their badge registration fees right now. You're going to start excluding a HUGE number of your attendees. How is not having your badge suddenly grounds from excluding you from convention planning and hotel registration?

I'm sorry if this isn't exactly a coherent thought. But I've been attending Fanime for over 10 years and I LOVE this con. But this sort of thing feels like I just got sucker punched.

This is why we wanted to get this posted and highlighted as soon as possible. This is no way an attempt to punish *any* of our attendees that are trying to get a hotel room for themselves. This is an unfortunate change to prevent a loophole that some were using to reserve up to a dozen rooms by themselves and then attempting to resell or just cancel the room at the last second, which was causing a bunch of our members to be unable to reserve a room for themselves.

The hotel deposit won't be put onto your account until a month or so before the convention.

Do you need to have paid for your registration (badge) to be able to reserve a hotel? Or do you just need to be in the reg system?

Would really love an answer for this question cause like many others. I made a group and registered the people but I currently haven't paid for it yet. So would I need to pay for everybody before I can reserve a hotel room?

Curious but is the Group Name going to be displayed on the badges or is that just for purposes of picking up the badgers easier. Mostly because if the name were to be displayed on the badge then I need to find something we an all agree on. xD

Good! I'm glad I'm not the one only that noticed this in the game rooms. I mean I loved the set up of this years E gaming room but I also wondered why there were so many people playing Smash Bros Melee and Brawl. Course those are great games but I did wish Rock Band was there to party up with a few friends, sing some songs and help make some friends. Rock Band has for me always been a fun Fanime game to get to know a few new people. :)

Heyos! just curious about anyone whom took a picture of Hajime Saitou from Rurouni Kenshin on Friday and Sunday. :) I was really happy with my cosplay surprised that a few people took my picture. xD ANyways would love to see the pics, there were two Saitous on Sunday, I was the one with his police outfit on. Out of fear and curiousity, I noted that the time limit for preliminaries is 2 minutes. Was I simply thinking it was 2:30, and if not, is there a reason for a short time? Also, if a song is released as a single, I hope leaving the album blank is acceptable. Thank You.

I noticed that as well since it used to be 2:30 but I think due to the increasing number of contestants they needed to lower the prelims time so everyone can get enough time to play. Plus as always tons of unaccounted time setting up and what not. xD

Woot Woot I haven't competed for to years now >_> I sang or rather tried singing "World End" in 2011 but ehhhh didn't go as well as I wish it had but ah wells xD then didn't have anything to sing last year but this year I'm thinking of singing The God Hand theme from God Hand and NAKED ARMS ENG from Sengoku Basara 3 xD

So my registration predicament hmm. So I'm going to be picking up my Pre Reg Badge on Thursday however this year I have the pleasure of bringing my seven year old cousin for a day or two. Obviously he's 7, so woo free badge for him. So on Thursday what I'm concerned about is that he'll still be in school or possibly won't be able to make it on Thursday so he could get his badge with me. Would it be possible to get a childrens badge for him even if he's not there. I know that already sounds wrong. -_-

Following question then pertains to if I can't. In which obviously it would be a pain to go through the registration line just to get a childrens badge. So where would I go to get a children's badge? preferably to get one asap. providing I brought the child with me any other day besides Thursday. That or as stated on the FAQ I just let any staff member know that I'd like to register a child?

Did anyone happen to see a Scout who had a Atomzer or a Soda Popper. :O If so that was me so curious to see if anyone has any photos. xD Oh right and I was also the Scout with the Ellis Hat.

Okay... Explain this to me about the batons? I have a prop that was made out of a baton (a Wind Waker) and it's REALLY crucial for the cosplay I have... Should I still take it or don't even bother with it? =/ Here's a picture of it...

The intent of the rule is to prevent erm... wooden, heavyweight batons-- like a police baton-- rather than a conducting baton. You're fine.

So a little while ago I posted about how my prop shotgun could be peace bonded down so I can't load it or anything but otherwise took a picture of all my props to get a general idea if they're alright or not. Shotgun was going to hold, plastic katana on my side and the pills and pipebomb in my pocket. Though worried if that pipe bomb looks too realistic or anything will of course bring it into the station. But just wondering if I should change the colors around for the gun or anything.

I don't think I can OK the pipe bomb, because we don't allow fake incendiary devices. The shotgun looks like a toy, so it should be ok. We'll review it for sure at the station.

So starting to think about my prop and here's my question.
I have a toy replica of a pirate like pistol (think children's Halloween costume prop). The trigger is removed, the insides are Ll removed and filled with glue (including the barel) and there is a 1 inch red/orange stripe on the tip. I also have a holster I made for it.
So 1) are my props acceptable?
2) should I adjust the holster to facilitate the pistol being peace bonded to them? (ps holster is actually attached to my pants)

Truly fake looking toy guns will not require holsters, but will require the tips. This *sounds* alright, but I have to see it in person to give you a final verdict.

Alright much thanks, I'll bring everything to peace bonding to double check but yeah if pipebomb not ok no biggie got a bunch of other cool props :D xD

Last year I had a bit of a audio problem soooo yeah >_> Just wanna redeem myself after last year ugh haha
