I was told to get this game for the PS3 since there are so many cheaters for PC though I prefer to use keyboard and mouse with fps games.

Just picked it up and im green as hell.

most notable achieve ment is watching myself get sniped via Kill Cam - I spend more time watching my own deaths than playing the game apparently. :(

Oh Man, do i fail big time.

@ Trooper I'd play along with you, but I'd screw up royally til i get better, which id doubt bit time. :P

I'll play with you though I'm not as good since I lost 2 months of play time. I mostly play Ground War...

My most fav. class is my
Explosive class:

Primary: Scar-H w/ grenade launcher
Secondary: Thumper x2
Equip: Semtex
Special: Flash Bang
Perk 1: Scavenger Pro
Perk 2: Danger Close Pro
Perk 3: Commando
Death Streak: Martyr

LoL, I played this one game 2 nights ago and killed 7 people at one time. It was in the map Rundown, they were bottle necked at the bridge and I was in one of the buildings. And when I fired all these names just appeared, I couldn't stop laughing. They didn't take it too lightly in the lobby.  :P

I've seen people on 40+ kill streaks...

then launch a nuke...

however I am slowlying getting better and hunting down the punks who killed me and getting a revenge kill back.

That and i have been lucky enough to kill someone in the middle of a kill streak.

I think the best point cap in one kill was like 800 pts. but i have no idea how i did it.

i only average like 4 kills and like 12 deaths in a usual team death match game. :P

i really dont care about my "stats" like other hardcore gamers.

which system do you have it on?

we could play 1vs1 to kinda get a feel for it and die like stupid noobs all together :P lol.

For playing multiplayer, the most played gametypes IMO seem to be Domination and Ground War; the best I have ever done in one match has been IIRC 21 kills and 13 deaths.

No matter how many times I've seen it(and I have only seen it a few times), I'm still amazed that some people can stay alive long enough to earn a Tactical Nuke(highest support item I've launched has been either a precision airstrike or a harrier, with the harrier earned through a dropped care package).

I luv my stats, I luv 'em.

Starting out, stick to the gametypes I mentioned in the beginning and Team Deathmatch, as well.

Which reminds me, I need help completing two missions in SpecOps, since they require two players.

I played for the first time in forever today and got an AC130 gunship.  Sexy.

Can't wait to unlock the M16.  But I don't play that much.  Only at Sgt rank I think.

Played with Jerry a few times but without him realizing I entered his game.  ;D

I wasn't after you in those games...
----
Last night was fun, made a knife class.

Primary: P90 w/ Rapid Fire
Secondary: Rafica sp?
Equip: Semtex or Throwing Knife
Special: Flash x2
Perk 1: Marathon
Perk 2: Light Weight
Perk 3: Commando Pro
Deathstreak: Last Stand

I noticed people panick when you run up to them or they don't even noticed you pass by. And if you constantly run it's hard for them to chase you down, and if you know their behind you, find some cover and wait till they pass you by! Then chase them from the back and stab them, lol.

Recommendations for online gaming.
Perks i use:

Perk 1 - Scavenger Pro ~ for resupplying ammo/equipment/ grenades + extra mags for weapons.
Perk 2 - Cold blooded Pro - not seen by enemy vehicles and no red name appears for your enemy [sometimes it confuses n00b] ;)
Perk 3 - Ninja Pro ~ silent... like a ninja!

I still havent figured out my best primary and seconard weapon though :P

just finally got to level 40 after 24 hours of online gameplay logged in.

my best "kill streak" is 6 though, how the heck do you get 25+ for that dang nuke?  ???

It took a few days but i'm finally getting the top scores and taking my proper place as sniper king. I love the thermal sight and heartbeat sensor! Combine them with a good place to hide and you can own <3

i understand and semi respect the position of the sniper/camper though its not really my thing.

just like the freakishly long hard fight from MGS3, I am WAY too impatient to play the role of the sniper. I'm too much of the run and gun... or the "spray and pray" player. but now know why some people can easily get 40+ kill streaks because of being an epicly good sniper.

maybe someday i will try to master it, but for now...

Does anybody wish for a "paintball" mode? i miss those days in golden eye mod/cheat codes in the N64 days  :D

You don't need to camp to snipe. Like every other gun in the game, you can use most Sniper Rifles like a Assault rifle with no trouble at all. Such realism I know.

I wouldnt care if there is a paintball mode or not, as I don't play custom games in MW2. That and I usually only play serious/semi-serious games anyway. Brings back Memories of old Halo2 Modding though. I <3 Headlong Forever...

Too bad us real Halo players use Bumper Jumper instead of Default Controls. Well most of us. Makes using Tactical mute for me. Maybe I should learn how to use my controller 'Claw' style, but that in itself is a pain. Plenty of numb fingers when I did attempt it back in the ol'Halo2 days. Still, a very useful skill to have when it comes to FPSs.

So, I'm addicted to this game. I'm playing on PC since most of my friends play on the PC and using anything other than a keyboard and mouse for an FPS is just masochistic.

Current Level: 46, Prestige 3.

318/352 of the regular titles. (For anyone curious; there are around 571 titles total, but the latter half are weapon and killstreak specific titles, most of which require that you have prestiged.)

Enjoy the below link, since I am one of the nerds who helped add information and organize this page.
http://callofduty.wikia.com/index.php?title=Callsigns (http://callofduty.wikia.com/index.php?title=Callsigns)

Favorite map: Scrapyard (The first map I got a nuke on, oddly enough.)

Best game:
Kills/Deaths: 58/13
Map: Scrapyard
Game type: Domination
End Domination team score: 200/198

Kit used:
Main Weapon: P90 w/ Silencer.
Secondary: Thumper
Equipment: Frag grenade
Special Grenade: Flash
Perk 1: Marathon
Perk 2: Hardline
Perk 3: Steady Aim
Kill streak 1: Harriers
Kill streak 2: Stealth Bomber
Kill streak 3: Chopper Gunner

Now, the above kit isn't my best kit, and certainly not my favorite. I am simply just trying to cap the different weapons, perks, and killstreaks.

Since I am Prestige 3, I have 7 different custom classes that I can make. The first 5 I have setup for each of the different weapon types. The 6th for S&D games only...and the last one if I feel like switching to a tube kit. ::)

I Love MW2 It Is All My Friends And I Play  ;D
My Favorite Class Is One My Friend Made...

Primary) M240 w/Extended Mags
Secondary) The One Man Army Backpack
Equipment 1) Semtex
Equipment 2) Stun Grenade
Perk 1) One Man Army Pro
Perk 2) Cold-Blooded Pro
Perk 3) Steady Aim Pro
Deathstreak) Martyrdom

The Cool Thing About This Class Is That With The The One Man Army Backpack You Have Infinite Ammo (Just Switch Back To The Above Class) And With One Man Army Pro It Is Faster To Switch To The Class And Have Full Ammo Then To Reload And Be Out 200-400 Rounds Of Ammo.
And Another One Two Punch Witch You Probably Already Know About, The Stun Grenade Slows Down Your Enemy Just Long Enough For The Semtex To Go Off.
Title: Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Post by: TC X0 Lt 0X on April 13, 2010, 12:58:45 PM
I personally would rather have my 1st Perk and my sidearm over infinite Ammo. Hell use Scavenger if Ammo is a concern, the sidearm is well worth it.
I myself use.

Main Weapon: M21 EBR w/ Thermal Scope
Secondary: M1014 w/ FMJ
Equipment: C4
Special Grenade: Flashbang
Perk 1: Sleight of Hand PRO
Perk 2: Stopping Power PRO
Perk 3: Ninja PRO
Kill streak 1: UAV
Kill streak 2: Predator Missile
Kill streak 3: Pavelow

It's nice and quick and versitile. The M21 can be effective at all ranges and with SoH PRO can quick scope easily. Thermal Scope because I dislike the default scope but don't want to use Acog. I don't have a problem hiting cold-blooded targets with it and it makes everyone else easy to hit.
M1014 for when I'm cruising around place to place. Keeps me warm and safe.
C4 because I'm a slut with it when it comes to windows. Flash to make it extremely difficut for my opponent to counter if hit, because I'd rather then firing their guns madly then attempting to line up the sights with me around the corner.
Sleight of Hand makes me quicker, Stopping Power makes me hit harder, Ninja makes me quieter and laughs at Heartbeat.
UAV because being aware of my opponent is the most important thing in this game. Pred because it is quick and effective. Pavelow because anything other then a sky-tank dies to easy to me.

And to note I treat the M21 more like a Assault Rifle then a Sniper Rifle most of the time. Sniping and Camping is not my style. And the extra firing power, range, and mobility beat the hell out of a Thermal FAL, like anyone would use a Thermal FAL...

Still think this game is ill-designed as hell though.

I reduced my "camping" time and went prowling around the perimeter of the maps. Best piece of advice I ever got. My kills/death ratio has improved significantly, but I'm still not good enough for a nuke, yet. It's always close but no cigar, some guy always kills me when I'm shooting the AC130.

I usually use:

Primary: FAL-Silenced and Halo Scope
Secondary: Raffica-Silenced and Red Dot Scope
Equipment: Semtex
Special Equipment: Flash Grenade
Perk 1: Bling Pro
Perk 2: Stopping Power Pro
Perk 3: Ninja Pro
Death Streak: Martyrdom

Kill Streaks:
Harrier Strike
AC130
Tactical Nuke

considering I'm bored at work here's my basic set up

Primary: UMP Silenced
Secondary: Glock akimbo
Equipment: throwing knife
Special Equipment: stun Grenade
Perk 1: Marathon Pro
Perk 2: Stopping Power Pro
Perk 3: I honestly dont remember... this is the useless perk bracket to me :P
Death Streak: Do not remember. . .

Kill Streaks:
6-7-8  by far the funnest set up as of yet.
Title: Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Post by: c2chaos on April 14, 2010, 07:04:58 PM
The UMP and the ACR are perhaps the best guns in the game. I can't say how many times I've been picked off with those from sniper range but it's enough to make me noob tube everything. My favorite secondary weapon is the Raffica, it's perfect for the Last Stand Perk.

One important tip about this game is that payback isn't worth it. You may think that after watching the killcam, you kow where they are at and what gun they are using but there were so many times when I rushed right back and got killed by the same player but in a slightly different spot or got killed by another player. I learned from that and I started to take advantage of other players hot-headedness and it proved that there are some really dumb people out there willing to die as many times as necessary for one payback.

Another tip. "Once a tuber, is always a tuber." If you are playing against a noob-tuber it is not likely that he'll stop for the rest of the match. However, if you could get them to change class, they might not go back to tubing. Calling in air support or sniping usually does the trick. I don't tube back because that draws easy attention and I suck at it in general.

Harrier Strike
AC130
Tactical Nuke

In my opinion your first mistake is choosing the AC130 over the Chopper Gunner, but that's just my personal opinion. Chopper Gunners may get shot down faster, but they also kill people faster and you don't have to wait for reload times or for the shells to reach the ground and explode.

Also, once you get your AC130 or Chopper Gunner, the first thing you gotta do is find a legit place to hide without being killed. Low traffic areas in a spot that not many people care to look. Like, prone in some bushes, a dark corner, in the far corner of a map that nobody really goes to.... etc etc. The first time I got a nuke I was in Scrapyard. I used my Chopper Gunner while crouched in a corner of the large Warehouse, right in the middle of the enemy spawn area. I was lucky enough to not even be noticed and got the nuke unlocked before I was finally killed. Fun times.

Yes, camping is bad. Camping just gets you killed faster in my opinion, unless you have teammates backing you up. Playing in a pub match and trying to camp will never get you a nuke unless the other team is full of retards. Camping *could* be okay if you limit it to area camping. In that you kill someone in a room or small area and change locations. Most likely they will come back and expect you to be in the same place.

Another hugely successful tactic for me, is flanking. If your team is pushing the enemy at one side of the map, then try circling around the entire map and most times you will catch the enemy off guard from the back. You are more likely to complete this the faster you can run to flank. So speed can be a factor. Also, firing your gun off will alert the enemy to your position on the map. If you can avoid using your gun, do so and knife the enemies you sneak up on. I always had fun with this tactic on Afghan.

Also, sometimes most people will avoid running straight up the middle of a map because it can be dangerous. But, since most players know this, they run up the sides of a map instead. The enemies expect this and are mostly prepared for this tactic on maps like Afghan. However, most people will be caught off guard if you can sneak a quick run through the middle of the map and then pull off a flank tactic once you get behind them.

For example: Your team is spawning near the cave side of Afghan. The other team is on the other side in the bunkers. Your team is pushing up the right side, while some might even be trying to run around the left side the long way. Your team might even make it to the bunker entrance, but pushing all the way through can be difficult with enemies posted there. If you instead avoid the door to the bunker and run to the left, following the wall... then most likely the sentries in the left side bunker will not see you coming. You follow the wall around and immediately make the right turn up the stairs inside the bunker and knife anything in the room. If you took fire going into the room from the field, you can crouch and wait in the room facing the door and kill anyone who enters. Or you can run out to the right and circle around to help your team push through. Tons of fun. ;D

I haven't played this game in months though...... maybe people have gotten better. ::)

Wait Liquid are you suggesting this game takes skill? Thats a No-No

Exactly. Anyone with a Redbull or some 12 year old child is perfect for the game.

Pro Pipe = Noob Tube

I weighed out the advantages and disadvantages of a Chopper Gunner and an AC130, and I feel that the AC130 is better. An AC130, has two anti-missles, a variety of guns, and it gets better multi-kills. People get really panicky over it and the enemies tend to respawn next to each other. I can use this to guess where a cold-bloded enemy would respawn and kill him before he takes me down.

I'm satisfied with my 3 nukes. Who wants 48 of them? Jeeze.

i have yet to get one either. :[ however, i got into a hacked game once where my friend jacked a tac nuke from the enemy's care pkg. it took 5min to go off so the beeping noise just kept going and going. so annoying.

fave killstreak set-up is harrier, pavelow, chopper gunner. "i can see your pavelow, pavelow, pavelow..."

and i agree w/ c2chaos that raffica + last stand = awesome. that's how i completed my last stand prestige challenge. :]

Anyone here tried the new maps yet?

In my opinion, they are OK. I like Overgrown the most because I could lay in the grassy outskirts and snipe approaching enemies. I got 27-0-1 mostly because of a sentry gun.

out of the new ones, my favorite is storm. only thing i don't like about it is when people who start on the train tracks tac insert up there. salvage is way too cramped and i don't even remember the name of the other one. i like overgrown too and now that my mw2 disc is scratched, i'm glad i get to still play it on cod 4.

@c2chaos: hope your nuke was equipped!

^ Nope. I wasn't going for a nuke that time. It looked like I could have too. I was trying to get the challenge completed for emergency airdrop.

My friends helped me get my 3rd nuke. I've gotten all my nukes on Highrise.
It helps if you play with friends and it helps if you have scavenge on since you run out of bullets quick. I recommend playing it on regular (Demolition, Domination, Ground War) and not hardcore seeing as you might friendly fire and end up killing yourself.

Try playing Domination since there is no time limit or kill limit. I like my killstreaks set on Harrier, Chopper Gunner, and Nuke.

That's all I can think of as for now. Might edit this post later.
(note: care packages do not count towards your kill streak)

One useful tip I got for working towards a nuke was: "Hide and let your harrier finish before you start your chopper gunner."

In pub matches, I learn to pick up the other team's (each individual's) habits.

If there's a sniper, I rely on map knowledge and find the most uncommon spot go to and take him out (usually they're always exposed one way or another). Just have to figure that as you play.

Commando/Marathon knifers in general, again, I rely on map knowledge, but I also pay attention to the radar or map to see the direction my team's attention is focused. So I just move the opposite direction and prevent any flankers.

Campers,....I'm not hating on them cuz it's a legitimate playstyle. So whatever floats their boat. =P The one type that doesn't really get anywhere in this game is the one that stays in a fixed position on every map. The ones who set up their tent (securing an area) are harder to take out, but generally, I like to let my teammates be cannon fodder until the enemies expose themselves. hehe

Tubers, yea...pretty much a thorn in your a-hole, but hey, it's legitimate to me. I avoid engaging them with a passion though.

Who wants 48 nukes? Boosters.......I laugh at them. You can hear them from a mile away. I don't understand the point...seriously.

I just find the playstyle that works best for me is flanking. I can camp and whatnot, but that's no fun. I like running around and exploiting people's weaknesses. I guess I can say my gunbattles are good enough...still improving (more advantage if you have good aim + sleight of hand cuz you can get the first shot out). Here's a tip to improve your gunbattles...use tactical layout (unless you're running and knifing), learn the drop shot, and buy fps freak! =D

Best killstreak, imo, pred/harrier/pavelow. You get to run around and shoot while having air support.

Btw, I'm just curious...is there such a thing as "pro tubing"? lol

Tar + silencer
scavenger pro/sleight of hand pro
stopping power pro
ninja pro
claymore/semtex and stun grenades
pred/harrier/pave

My screw around setup:
ump + silencer
marathon pro
stopping power pro

semtex and stun
care package/sentry/edrop ("box(es) of skill" ftw....)

Someone here referred to it as, "Pro-piping."

You can Pro-Pipe on any map.
It is even more skill-less then placing an airstrike down in the game. At least with that you have to have a good idea where your enemys are going to be. Pro-Pipe is just point and click.
