I get mine at the beauty supply store in Oakland. I forget the name...It was a yellow and blue building on Telegraph and I think 27th st. $20 bucks. No prescription needed. I suggest you get the brand in the blue box (they only have two brands for regular lenses). The blue box ones are more straightforward for the color you choose. The ones in the purple box tend to add a more "realistic" look that I'm not terribly sold on. The one pair of light blue color contacts I bought from the purple box brand had a bit of yellow around the outside of the pupil to simulate what some people with real blue eyes, have (like my best friend). I hope that made sense. Gomen!

You could always make and interpretive Foofa costume. Like what she would look like loli style or something?

So far I'm only planning on making DJ Lance Rock, BUT I'd like to do a mascot of Plex the robot IF I can rally some of you to do mascots for Muno, Foofa, Toodee, or Brobee? Or Plex too. Who wants in? We could be as big as Captain Planet and the Planeteers from last year!!!

I'm making Ashlotte, so I wonder who else wants to join in for group photos? It doesn't have to be SC IV. Any SC game character will do.

I might bring Rin with me. Not entirely sure yet...

I will be at both gatherings as Honey.

I will join the Bleach gathering as Hiyori (Vaizard)

Quote from: "h-chan"I would either be gunner or trainer yuna. i think the trainer cosplay is too big now though...

It would be awesome to see a Trainer Yuna there :D Should I put you down as both for now? And will you make it for sure?

Yeah. Put me down for both. I'll wear which ever one that ends up needing less repairs XD

The problem with this is: I have a death note cosplay and several bleach ones...

I will be there as "rasta" ban

ok ok. I WILL be at fanime, but not as Kon. I need to find someone to wear it because I will be Momo Hinamori and Ururu. Dunno which one I will wear to the gathering though.

You spelled it right. They sell the shinigami cosplays on ebay.

Quote from: "Akira Miyamoto"Is there anyone who can make a Gene Starwind costume who lives in the San Jose or Santa Clara areas of California?

I probably could. I forget what it looks like. I'm in Berkeley.
#56
Of course. I'll be Kon again.

I say it depends. Sometimes the cosplay events turn out to be not even worth your showing up...no offense to anyone who has participated.

Is anyone going as a FFX-2 character? I am and with that, I would like to extend the invite for group photos. I am going as Trainer Yuna.

Is it just me or does anyone else have a problem with the way they judge cosplay at the CBF? It seems if you make a full-body costume (cabbit, moogle, etc,) or something extremely large or complicated, or even looks so good, that it looks like it belongs in a live action version of your anime, you are sure to win. I made a very good and pretty accurate Yuna gunner costume last year. I froze my butt off out there and I didn't even get an honorable mention! Fine, okay. It's not like I'm being a baby about it. I just thought it was one of my crowning acheivements.

Over the last few years, the winners have always been the types of costumes I've mentioned above. I mean I'm not whining, persay. I saw other costumes that were outside of the "professional" looking category, that I thought should win. I mean they don't seem to recognize the people who maybe aren't seamstresses or don't know how to make a Gundam costume out of vinyl that's eyes light up too. (If you were there last year, you know EXACTLY what I'm talking about...)

Am I the only one here!? Really? I think it's screwed. I mean it does push me to try harder every year, but I only have so much experience and so much disposable income...It seems like they need to change it. I think they need to have different categories like beginner, intermediate and advanced, or something like that, so us "little" guys can get some recognition. I mean that kind of judging can crush a beginning cosplayers spirit. In fact I still dread going to the CBF cosplay contest because I know I'll be outdone by those types of costumes. Like I said, I've been there several years and I have yet to see a "not so professional" costume win! In fact, the ONLY reason I still go is because it's the only other cosplay event I am able to go to besides Fanime and I have yet to enter a cosplay there.

What do you guys think?
