Having a maid café or a butler café or mix of maid and butler is up to an IDEAL of the person who created it.  Please respect that.  If Fanime just wants a Maid Café, they want to focus on the maid and be the best of what they are doing.  Everybody has an ideal and believes of how they want to run thing. 

For example: I open a traditional Japanese Theme Restaurant.  You won't go into my café and ask for a Hamburger or a Taco.   

I would say Traditional Maid Café in Japan doesn't have Butler. So it is normal if Fanime Maid Café only wants to have maid.  It is understandable. 

I have to say that it is not because Fanime can't do a butler café.  It is not what they are interested in. 

So if people really want a butler café, create one.  If you believe that it will have a lot of customers and become a booming business, then go to Fanime Con Chair and tell them your idea. 

Have a business plan and do a presentation.  Talking like this on forum between couple people won't do much help. 

Put the plan in action if you want and think you can to do it.

There are a lot of misconceptions that a lot of fans here interpret, outside-- especially for host clubs. Though, host-clubs don't really relate well to maid cafes and butler cafes, many fans here believe they're one in the same, despite maid and butler cafes being a geek-novelty, whereas host clubs are adult businesses in the redlight district. Be sure to do your research, lest spread misinformation, and good luck!

Thanks for your warning.  I do aware of the misleading between host club and butler cafe that is why I want to do this panel to explain more details about maid cafe, host club, and butler cafe. 

Recently, there are a lot of maid cafes in US and almost all cons have a maid cafe.  I am planning to do a panel on Maid Cafe, Host Club, and Butler Cafe.  I have a general idea to do this panel but I would love to hear from everybody.

Did you try the R4 on the DSi or DS?

I believe R4 is illegal to sell.  I think you should report to fanime officlal

I thought the masquerade was not that good compared to last year. 

#1. the audio - a lot of skits I couldn't hear or understand anything.  I did enjoy some of the dance skit and I thought they were good especially the pokemon and kuroshitsuji skits.

#2. the winner of karaoke went on stage to perform wearing a short and tshirt like she just woke up.  I think that is no respect to audience at all.  At least put on a jean and looks a little more presentable. 

#3.  The masquerade was too long and way too boring.  A lot of the skits had no meaning. 

I don't think it is right to tell other people that they are doing it all wrong because of their ideas and they are trying to do their best.  I think we have to respect the idea of The Funky Fresh Cosplay is hosted the Maid Cafe at AX.  I am more thinking about sharing the ideas of each cafe and making it better and available for all Anime Fans.  I am very happy that AX actually is going to have the maid cafe for girls and guys who live in So CA.

I feel sad because AX doesnt have a maid cafe.  So there is no maid cafe in Southern California and girls from So. Cal want to join maid cafe but they couldn't. :(

Make it at home. 

Go to japanese market - buy the flour, some cabbage, fresh squid...you can find all the stuffs you need to make takoyaki at the market. 

When will the karaoke registration be up?

I saw couple of the Soul eater cosplay this year... It was great. Glad to see them at fanime this year.

I understand staffs were being strict this year; however, they had no right of being jerk.  Staffs still have to treat attendees with respected.
