Hi, sorry if this sounds extremely stupid, but what time exactly does the AMV contest begin? I've been searching all across the website and haven't been able to find a time ( as well as when the judjing takes place and awards). I know on the front page under Live Programming there is alot of information about how it works, but I didn't actually find what day and time it would all happen. If someone could please point that out to me, then I will give you great a many kudos.

The more I look at them, the more beautiful I think they are. Some of those dolls are absolutely gorgeous!

And thank you so much for the info, and the sites MoonBlossom, they've led to alot of other sites which were also extremely useful. I've always been extremely detail oriented so I think a resin doll might be best for me, but it's still all a bit confusing. At first I thought one bought a body and then a blank head to go with it and after that customized the head with a wig, eyes, make-up, etc. But the more I'm looking it seems you buy the whole doll exactly as it is. Which is weird since the whole point of the dolls seems to be to make the doll exactly how you want it. I'm still trying to sort it out, but it's a little irritating since I can easily find seperate female bodies and heads but practicelly nothing on male seperates.

Well anywho, just my rambling on. Maybe it'll just be easier once I get to Fanime and see what it being sold there. I usually do better when I can see something physically right before me. Of course, I'm going to have to wait until after December to even buy one anyway, so I've got time. XD

Latching onto this rather than making a seperate thread, but is an Obitsu doll the same thing as a Dollfie. I'm pretty much a complete newbie to this whole scene but I've been interested in it ever since I saw the dolls that were being sold at Fanime 2 years ago.

Anyway, any info on helping me sort all this out would be greatly appreciated since googled websites pretty much assume you know the different names for everything. Also, that website link was extremely wonderful!

Edit: As an extra add on, I guess to make it more specific is what I'm looking for is customizable dolls, so I can make it look like my own character. I think where I'm getting thrown off is the sites I'm visiting seel the dolls in packages to make them look like a specific doll which isn't what I'm looking for.

One of the few things I'll be actively looking for in the Dealers Room is a BL ArtBook. Not a specific series though which people don't usually seem to understand. I just remember a couple years ago buying one and it was titled Tsubasa. It wasn't work from CLAMP though and it wasn't any of their characters. A little confused on that bit, but whatever. So anywho, I'm mostly just looking for pretty art, whether in the Dealers Room or Artist Alley ^_^

Probably the only thing I'm actually looking for throughout the entire dealers room will be a Kiba Inuzuka plushie. <3 I honestly don't think they make them, but with the growing popularity of the series, one can never be sure. O.o' I also think an Akamaru plushie would be adorable.

I feel like laughing evilly right about now. Damn you fanime people injecting me with your public displays of randomness. I used to keep my randomness all to myself.

i believe there is no such thing as a pirate ninja. Ninjas and pirates cannot be one...

I'm sure there are some out there, but we'll never be able to catch up to them ...

Just wondering, what would happen if someone is to stumble upon a Pirate!Ninja or a Ninja!Pirate? Would he/she be accepted or eaten alive by...woodchippers and trees? >.>U

Why what a good question. I suppose I should know the answer to this before deciding if I should come or not xD

Hm...half ninja-half pirate...what a combo.  Too bad there'd be no way to throw cowboy in there. Then I'd be the most awesomness thing ever. xD

As for fighting with myself, I don't think I have to worry about that  :D

Aw, Kyra Ensui, I don't know what happened, but the pictures can't be shown on my computer. I downloaded it and saved it to my desktop, though when I wish to open it, it says that it requires some type of program. :(

Although I do have to wonder if their outfits looked anything like this...

Oh I don't know, I sort of liked seeing the updated list on each page. Like you said, you put it on every new page so it's not exactly the hardest thing in the world to find. Well, maybe that's just me, but I like being reminded, it shows you're on top of things, and well..just my opinion I guess. ^^

Yeah, since I'm hoping to sneak into the sewing class during my free period, and the teacher is uber cool, I'm really hoping that she'll be able to help me work on this.

Only, like I said, I'm really scared of doing a really crappy job. >.< I've found some pictures, but it's just one shot of each outfit so it doesn't really help me all that much ( is this where I get to take artistic liberties ;) ) and well, to put it lightly, I'm a wuss at sewing.

But I know that fully finishing just one cosplay is something I want to do rather than starting a thousand more and only getting props done.  :oops:

EDIT: Ah yes, I'm also curious. Do you guys have any pics of your past cosplays? I'd love to see them. ^^

Well, I don't know anime-wise which I would choose to have the most detail, simply because I just don't think I've seen enough series' to make a decision. >.<

Not that I've read alot of manga either, but I do personally think Get Backers has a lot of detail. Am I completely wired? Maybe, but sometimes I pause just to notice some nice added quirk here or there. ^^

Aw, do the bright anime colors make them look cheesy on cosplays?  I thought they were cute myself.

Touya, I think you should at least try. ^^ If I do decide to do this cosplay, it's going to be my big project of the year, lol, since I myself am no master of sewing simply because I've never had the motivation to keep working with what I already know. >.< That and I'm pretty scared of messing up too, so I just keep doing the basics over and over again. xD

Ah, thank you. ^^ That's a good idea about pausing it. We have it in nice quality, it's only my older sister keeps the dvds with her, and she lives two hours away which is why I haven't been able to continue watching the series. >.<

Ah, so Tooru is the main character, now don't I feel silly for not knowing that. Well, like I said I've only seen the first episode, but I kind of took a liking to that other Princess, the one with the pink hair ( I'll learn their names, I promise, lol ), but there is certainly no way I can make two costumes. I guess I'll have to make a decision.

I've only seen the first episode of Princess Princess ( shall be finishing it up hopefully soon though. Isn't it really short? ^^ ) so I didn't quite catch all their names. And googling for this series doesn't seem to be working very well. >.<'

Edit: Oh, gah, sorry. But also curious ( sorry for all the questions ) but would either of you happen to know if any of them ever wear anything with alot of white?  :D

We have no Tooru as of yet.

And there is a Nurse costume that is a white costume (And ranks pretty high on the cute scale). I am thinking of having this costume as well. Just for the hell of it.

I've tried googling things for my friend, so I can get an accurate picture of one of the dresses, but despite there being a Manga, TV Series, and Drama, The Googles do nothing.

Ah, sorry, I didn't mean who is cosplaying him, I meant which character in the series is Tooru. I mean, I like helping people and really need to choose a cosplay to do, so if you guys were in need of one...:)

Ah really? Yes, I know it's really hard to google pics of these guys, but if you do happen to find anything would you mind sending a link? I have a ton of white material that I have no idea what to use it for. So if one the boys wears something white, then I might try to tackle that project. ( Whew! They look so hard from what I can remember! Good thing I have almost a year >.< )

Well, that's difficult to say. I used to only pick more obscure characters from little know animes and manga, and I liked it because I knew I had a better chance of being the only one there in that costume. Even if I did choose a more popular series, I have this strange tendency of liking the background guys. xD

Though I've noticed lately I'm beginning to choose more popular characters. Though I don't think it's because I want to be noticed, just because those are my options currently.

Honestly, I kind of like doing more 'hidden' cosplayers better, simply because, like I said before...it just makes me feel all that more damn special. ;)
