Panels and Workshops / Panels 2014 Feedback Thread
June 02, 2014, 06:10:03 PM
Hello Wonderful People!

Thank you so much for joining us in 2014. There were a few big changes this year, including the move to the Fairmont and the addition of Fan Events. In order to keep improving, we would love to hear back from you, as fans, panelists, volunteers and staff. Con just ended, but we're already making plans for next year. So, please let us know:

1. What did you like/what worked?

2. What did you dislike/what didn't work?

3. What suggestions do you have for next year?

4. Are there panels/topics you really want to see next year (other than your own  :P )?

5. Anything else you want to mention?

Feel free to write as much or as little as you like!
If you want to get in contact with Panels, you can email us at [email protected]

Here's looking at 2015~!

In past years, some of the most popular Panels have filled up very quickly, leading to people being turned away at the door due to the restrictions of room capacities. We are hoping that having rooms at the Fairmont will ensure that everyone who wants to attend a panel will be able to attend.

If you are concerned about attendance numbers at your panel, we always encourage Panelists to advertise their panels ahead of time. We have information about it on our info page (http://apps.fanime.com/2014/panelinfo/#advertising) including how you can get a time-slot at Stage Zero to help spread the word, something that has been very effective for Panelists in the past.

If you want to provide feedback about the move, we would encourage you to submit it to the convention and panels after the convention, after the actual experience of presenting your panel in the Fairmont.

The Panelist Lounge (base of panels operations) WILL be in the Fairmont this year. No running back and forth.

Larger panel rooms were not available to this department in the main Convention Center, so we chose to move to the Fairmont.
The capacity of the rooms are significantly larger than what they have been in previous years.

Hey, so I'm trying to submit my panel but every time I click "Submit Idea" I get this message:

QuoteDeprecated: Function eregi() is deprecated in /home/secret_fanime/apps.fanime.com/2014/fanimelib/phpmailer/class.phpmailer.php on line 599

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/secret_fanime/apps.fanime.com/2014/fanimelib/phpmailer/class.phpmailer.php:599) in /home/secret_fanime/apps.fanime.com/2014/panelform/process_form.php on line 69

Can you help me?

I got that page too, but also still received the email confirmation that they received my panel. Check your email. It seems to be just the page not displaying, but the submission still goes through.

We were updating the back pages, which may have caused the issue. I just did a test submission and it processed fine.
Check your email to see if you received a confirmation.

If not, please resubmit. The form should be working properly.

EDIT: Roommates found.

Kalafina.

They would very well coordinate with the new season of Kuroshitsuji airing now with their contribution to the ending theme and also the fact that the show has been signed with FUNimation in the States.

Definitely not the pumped up energy we would see from some bands like we had with FLOW and LM.C last year but they would certainly put on a wonderful show.

Thank you for posting this. Maikiritori and I are finishing up our staff @ the 3 pm meeting tomorrow. Depending on whom makes it onto our staff we may have an opening for a male or need to place one or two staff into a staff room. I'll post back here after we know.

Sweet like Chupa Chups. I'm certain my group will be fine with having a male specimen in the group, as long as he can handle booking with three cute girls for the weekend ^___^

Staff & Volunteers / Staff Roommate Wanted
March 23, 2010, 10:19:58 PM
My group currently consists of three females working in Panels this year, and we are in need of a fourth individual in order to book staff room.

All three of us are mature individuals who know how to have fun, are the only people who have ever brought healthy foods to the con in order to balance out the junk food, and are fans of Death Note, Kuroshitsuji and Ghost in the Shell.

We're looking for someone who:

IS ON STAFF! We cannot room with you unless you are an official staff member. It doesn't matter what department: Rovers, Guest, Panels, etc., but you must be registered.

Does not smoke or drink. Well, if you plan on going out with friends Saturday night and hitting up a bar, that's fine, honestly, just no liquor in the room and don't stumble in at four in the morning and disturb the entire floor ^___^ That's fair, isn't it?

Won't lose their room key.

Preferably female. It just works better.

Will pay their share. I handle the booking and the payments up front, but I expect full reimbursement at the convention. No "I'll mail you a check fifty years from now." Cold hard cash will be accepted with a smile and some eye-roll worthy pun.

Is set on going to Con. Last year we had someone back out a few weeks before and it just created very ridiculous phone conversations with the hotel operatives.

Bathes. Very important.

(559) 903-8209 (after 3 pm) If I do not answer, feel free to leave a message.

I will be in need of your full name, age and contact information so arrangements for the convention and information about checking it, getting established, can be exchanged.

Please feel free to drop little fun facts about yourself to show us what a lovable and quirky personality you have that will make 3 nights and 4 days an awesome experience for all of us!

My name is Alisa and I will be very pleased to make your acquaintance.

For musical guests, I say we bring in HANGRY & ANGRY.
Their music has the upbeat-ish type rock that corresponds well with anime, and they're an Indies group thus far.
Plus, they've already hit up Anime Expo and Sakura-con, so obviously bringing them into a convention successfully is possible.

They may also be able to do something to promote the fashion line, maybe work with a panelist, especially now that we have the first brand Gothic & Lolita shops open in San Francisco (Baby the Stars Shine Bright and Black Peace Now). Because personally, I thought last year's Lolita panel was horrendous and hope that if we have anything similiar this year it may be able to do Japanese fashion a little justice.

They would bring even more wonder and color with their upbeat rock/electric pop.

They will already be in the United States May 29-31 for a performance at A-Kon 20, only a few days after Fanime concludes, which would be convenient for the band's travel, and acceptance of invitation.
