I strongly disliked the lack of organization on certain planned events, such as the 16+ Yaoi night, which many were turned away from, as it turned to 18+ at the door. Besides that and other minor things that weren't so much the fault of Fanime, I think the con went great overall.

I'm curious where this was ever listed as a 16+ event.  I've always seen it listed as 18+ along with all the legal codes listed next to it, as it is illegal to show pornographic material (even in anime form) to individuals under the age of 18.

I went with "other."  The thing that really gets to me is the people drunk off their asses or on miscellaneous substances.  This was the first year that I actually came across teenagers loudly discussing how they wished they could acquire various substances to have a good time.  I am not going to say how nobody should be doing drugs/alcohol because that's going to be impossible.  The way I figure, you can do whatever you want on your own time but I sorta draw the line at an event that seems to be the more "family oriented" out of all the cons I've been to so far.

I own this game for the PC, as well as the first one.  If you would like to add me to steam to play this or any of the HL style games etc. my info should be located at: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197968081758

I don't play much myself, but it couldn't hurt to add more people for future reference.  Right now the only multiplayer games I own is the Rockband series.  If anyone is interested in adding me, my PSN ID is: KazekageGaara650

I can see where everyone is coming from.  I just happen to be from the perspective where this is an improvement over previous years.  My first time was at Fanime 2007 and literally my first 15 minutes I had screaming girls run up and glomp me.  From a safety perspective I think people against the wall with hugging optional is alot safer.  As far as shirtless people go... it is pretty bad especially if they haven't showered or anything.  Minors wise.. there were kids in the 10-12 range at some point joining the hug lines, so I guess it's all up to your own personal comfort level where hugs are concerned, I do have friends IRL that don't like them even from their own friends.

The people were ordered to stay against the wall so they wouldn't be in the way.  If you didn't want to be hugged you didn't have to.  I honestly thought it was a positive experience, people are so closed off and apathetic towards eachother in society anymore that I thought it was cool that people were willing to show a little love to all genders/orientations/cosplays etc.

Well just to put my 2 cents in about the dance partners thing.  My experience last year, was that you meet alot of potential dance partners if you attend the free dance lessons they have going on prior to the B&W ball itself.  I personally will dance with either gender, so I'll be available to anyone on the dance floor.  Aside from that, people are usually pretty good about asking you if you are walking around on the dance floor... just don't go off and sit on one of the chairs.

Man need to refresh my memory who I met but I did get to know Mister E at H-marathon and other such.

I got to hang out wit Kajetokun when he barely arrived.  Very cool guy and I had to tour him around fanime.  Hope he hangs out more wit out group next time he shows up again.

I met OniCourseMusha for sure.  I believe you questioned me outside of the B&W Ball regarding my Kazekage Gaara Robe, as well as seeing you inside cutting a rug :)  As some of you I forgot to ask if people were on the forum, but I know I saw Toad again this year, regardless of weather he's on the forums or not.

But yeah, day one I was in a black shaolin monk robe, day 2 in raver gear and a b&w fox tail, day three kazekage gaara, followed by the gaara robe with the b&w fox tail.

I'm thinking of going to Yaoi con myself this year.  I was a bit worried at first, cause the website focused on stating that it was directed towards the female audience, so I wasn't sure how well men were going to be accepted... that being said, It's looking more and more like something I'd like to do this year, assuming I can get the time off work/school and whatnot.

I'm not certain myself either, however it is not uncommon for people to be dehydrated, and forget to eat... thus why they have the dispensers, and remind people, but it still tends to happen regardless.

Lol I did alot of walking :) I was walking the floor like 50 times looking for people that were supposed to be coming this year and managed bump into only one of them.  Aside from that I found some nifty restaurants close by on first street, and then I went to the rave.

I'm totally in.  does anybody if they have dance lessons again? umm, i'm hoping my outfit counts.  I don't have a tux so I was just gonna wear the Black Kazekage Gaara robe thing, and then maybe add some white accessories? Still plenty of shopping time, so I would appreciate any suggestions.

Yeah I don't know about this year, but I bought a YAOI paddle last year.  They made you get them peace bonded, and just didn't let you spank people, but you could carry them around.

I guess the appeal is the chance to roleplay, or in a way act out a scene from an anime series like Ouran Highschool Hostclub or something.  They typically teach dancing lessons earlier on in the day, and then you get to come back and show off your stuff.

Weirdest things for me was a combination of things.  Like 10 mins after getting there (last year was my first year) I had the joyfull experience of finding out what getting glomped is.

Going out for lunch on the town was funny, cause I rode lightrail in a cosplay outfit, and the public kept asking if there was a parade somewhere or something.

Lastly was sunday night (I believe) there were alot of drunk people who decided it would be a smart idea to climb on the convention center's roof.  Then later I hung out in the main lobby with friend, and a guy came up to one of the girls in our group, and introduced himself by talking about how he likes to go to S&M Clubs up in SF.

So I got a black Shaolin Monk Robe.  Anyone know if that's acceptable? I'd prefer not to do the suit thing, cause it's just not that original since we're at Fanime and all.
