I *might* go, as Sebastian, with my friend as Grelle. But not certain just yet.

I bet they'd sell. They look like something Slave Labor would publish. They're good, and just the right kind of creepy that I'm sure plenty of people will love 'em.

Using your own hair will greatly limit you... You will probably want to consider getting wigs. Now, I don't know your body types or what type of clothing you are comfortable with wearing, but a couple suggestions here:

~Kougaiji (http://img1.ak.crunchyroll.com/i/spire3/01102008/1/1/3/b/113b4da3df5a20_full.jpg) and Yaone (http://www.projectbag.com/saiyuki/pics/yaone06.jpg) from Saiyuki

~Akio (http://www.flowerstorm.net/disa/Pictures/Utena/anti-akio.jpg) and Utena (http://www.biginjap.com/images/utena.jpg) from Utena

But, as was already pointed out, skintone isn't really a crucial factor, as long as you have fun.

I ~MIGHT~ be there again, as Death the Kid, because this year's was so much fun. Unless SE gets all HUUUGE and the gathering explodes into like...Naruto/Bleach gathering like proportions....cuz gatherings that big kind of suck XP

Just over a year ago, I was one of those people that bought costumes. These days, I make all my own, and sometimes some of my friends'. It's all a matter of ability. I didn't know how to sew, so I bought. But I also worked on learning how to sew. But that's because it's a creative outlet for me, an art form. So really, it depends on your personal outlook on cosplaying itself.

If you go to conventions just to go to conventions and meet other people and buy merchandise, then there is absolutely nothing wrong with buying costumes. But!! If you cosplay for the recognition, for the attention and the compliments, then I think it is a bit...well, bad....to buy costumes. Because then you're getting praise for work that is not yours. And let's be honest; the majority of people won't put "I bought this costume from (website)" in the description of all their photos on deviantart or wherever they happen to be.

So I suppose it really depends on the cosplayer as a person. Individually. I....>_< aaahh, I'm not sure this is coming out right. I hope I'm getting out what I mean to say, but......XP aah, I'm just gonna stop talking now -skuttles off-

This is a tough one to be sure. I styled my friend's Kenpachi wig, and I personally think it turned out pretty well....until he played "capture the flag" in it (don't ask). So unfortunately, there really aren't pictures of it, otherwise I'd offer some up so you can judge for yourself if you like this method.

But basically, we used a Punky XL from Amphigory.com and spiked it using a lot of Got2B Glued freezespray, and the styling glue on the tips to keep them from fraying. We sectioned it off into 11, using little rubber bands to keep them separate. Ths really can't be done without the assistance of at least one friend, by the way. Because you need to hold it up WHILE you spray it (a lot), gel the tips, and use the dryer (contrary to what a lot of people say, I have never had a problem using a dryer on wigs as long as the heat is on low). Of course, the bangs need to be pulled up into the spikes as well, since Kenpachi doesn't have spikes.

However, Kenpachi's hairline is....well, it's darn weird XD Unfortunately, I don't know much about altering hairlines yet, otherwise I'd love to help with that, too. And granted, I am very well aware that this may not be (probably isn't?) the best method for a Kenpachi wig, but I figured it never hurts to throw a piece of advice out there.

We should do a Bleach Musical at Fanime lol
Just a suggestion

XD That would be awesome. Perhaps can make up for the fact that they cut Ishida out of ALL THE MUSICALS -sulks in a corner-

Yeah, so....does anyone have any idea how to make a dress out of latex? >.< This is probably pretty ambitious, but you see, my friends and I want to be as ACCURATE as possible with our Silent Hill nurse costumes, and in the movie, the dresses were made of latex. So does anyone know of a tutorial, or can tell me how? Or am I just insane for even wanting to try? ^^;

I love you all and such... >.>;
But I'd have to support Kenshin...... Except.....
This Kaoru prefers Aoshi.... If there are some around...

Hey~
This is Jangular's friend. Just wanted to post and say that I will try my very best to have my Aoshi ready by Fanime. I have quite a few things to get done, but his outfit doesn't seem particularly difficult, just layer-y, so I ~think~ I can do it in time :)
