I think you meant to post this in the "meetings, gatherings, & get togethers" section. I feel your pain for the lack of new friends as well here in sj. Curse this bloody hellhole that isn't downtown sj!

anyway, maybe meet halfway?

Gaming / Re: anybody here play Battlefield Heroes?

i'm not saying that everybody who uses the word "noob" is a douch. It's just when the people who use it commonly tend to be assholes about it when they got a higher score than everybody else, ya know?

Gaming / anybody here play Battlefield Heroes?
February 06, 2011, 12:43:14 PM
i'm just wondering if there is anybody here who does by chance because if there is, it'd be nice to play with people who aren't FPS douchebags who loosely use the term "noob" to describe others.

If interested, just ask for my player name, search & hit me up so we can kick ass & take names just for the lolz.

General Anime Chat / Re: Goatee and Cosplay

i think Asuma from the Naruto series had a goatee. Not 100% on that, but i'm pretty sure he did.

This is just a theory but I wouldn't be surprised if it was pretty close to the truth. I bet the WBC is just doing this for the attention & the money. The money part being that when they protest at a event, they'd become so annoying with their protesting of "God hates fags" crap that whoever is in charge of said event would pay them off to go away. How else do they pay for their travel expenses, they all pitch in? Don't think so. So basically, they're just being annoying & offensive to people just for the dough.

I heard from somewhere that there was that one case where that actually happened, a bribe for them to piss off. Not 100% on that story because i'm not sure I heard right. Now unfortunately the 1st amendment protects their right to free speech & freedom of religion, but that oughta change to "...until it really gets irritating then you have the right to pop a can of whoop-ass on the smeg-heads", so can't do anything about that. then the alternative would be just not to pay attention to them.

Besides, the good scenery of Fanime ought to overshadow their negativity anyway...

I can imagine you whipping out a Tommy gun and saying, "I'll turn into Swiss cheese!"

Correction: "Say hello to my little friend!!"

Forum Games / What is your mobster name?
January 21, 2011, 03:21:50 PM
Since the news of those mafia members being arrested by the FBI as of this week hit the news & the names of these mobsters(most of them are food-type names), I thought "what is my mobster name?". So using this link, what is your mobster name?

http://gangstaname.com/names/mafia

Btw, my mobster name is Emilio Slapnuts, rofl, I'm not kidding. That'll be my official name from now on.

I don't know if you seen the level of glompiness at Fanime as of recent years, but it's starting to tone down to the phase of "ask before you hug". Besides, a glomping is something invented by conventions like these as common courtesy. If the glomp came at you any less than if, for example, you had a football during a game & a linebacker was trying to take you down, that can't be called assault. When I went to my 1st fanime, glomping was all the rage & mostly carried out by the chicks(although there was this one time I was clotheslined glomped, that hurt). Case in summary, you probably don't have to worry about being randomly being glomped from a stranger in future Fanime gatherings. Hell, we'll probably get to the point of sueing 1 another if a random unwanted glomping comes around.

Since I saw that Green Hornet movie(which was pretty dope w/ the exceptions of the word "shit" being used a lot), Jay Chou(a.k.a Kado)-  "Nunchucks".

a chance to set up meetings with new people that you'd rather hang with than your old, weird friends? Sounds cool. I've been to 3 of these fanimes since 07' & the highlight of the con for me is meeting the people while posing as the sane one of these gatherings. Besides, with everybody else being in their own groups, no 1 person should be left out, especially the first-time attenders. As a person of the people, I'd consider it an honor to hang with ya's. As for my backround info, i'll keep that to myself. If interested in hanging out, just keep an eye out for a guy in a dark suit w/ a fedora on his head when the con rolls around. If not that, then with a Shinigami-sama hoodie.

Ideas and Suggestions / Re: Late Night Mystery Event
January 14, 2011, 11:50:04 PM
that actually sounds pretty interesting. I see this the answer to "when the gaming room gets boring". Some questions still remain though, such as what nights will this take place, Day Zero, Friday, when? Until there's a finalized version of the rules & how it goes down, i'ma remain skeptical bout this.

First & foremost, "staff". Now that's out of the way, does anybody know if swap meet will need people to serve as their staff members again this year to do whatever it is that they do?
