Yeah pay toilets I saw a row of them in San Francisco once, every 5 minutes they went though an auto-wash.

I didn't use one so I don't know how much they cost.

Imagine backpacking through Europe, your bladder's full, you see a toilet sign, rush for it, and see a coin slot on the door.

Then imagine searching through your pocket for proper currency. Like I said, pay toilets grind my gears.

parking meters in a downtown area.

i hate the idea if im visiting a friend and i want to stay longer than 2hours, i have to move my car and still pay to visit my friends.

sometimes it makes me ask if my friends are worth the trouble...

some are worth it... others... well its debatable  :P

- people wont dont know me well enough, who dont realize that i too can use sarcasim on the internets.  ;) and yes i knew it was a joke. because I am TOTALLY about about the sex.  ;D

- people with tattoo in awkward places and then you dont let me see them. whats the point of the tattoo i cant see it? pft. i am suppose to get see-thru-clothing vision? damn, need to stick my head in the microwave Again.  ::)

- false advertisements - I went shopping with a friend today and we were at the market and he bough these ice cream cookie sandwhiches. he was all excited because the picture showed this HUGE ice cream cookie sandwhiches... and when he opened it ... it was a size of quarter. what a rip!

Speaking of advertisements, I hate it when ads use other existing brands to compare from. "Oh, we're so much better than this brand!" or putting up the product or something resembling the product on their commercial to compare their product with... it just seems to petty, at times I don't even want to buy from them anymore, and just buy the competing product they're trying so hard to beat. Though, I don't mind the generic comparisons though, no-name brands and generic examples.

Another thing that sort of bugs me is not being able to remember my dreams as soon as I wake up. I dream every single night, and sometimes I remember-- but I hate it when I don't, especially if it's the type of dream that lasts "years" in time within it. I've lived lives in my dreams that I'd forget when I'm awake.

Second off, why the hell would it grind you gear when people use the word queer?
Do you not know what it means?

Thrid off, this stood out to me the most, mainly the youth (especially black youngins D: ) WTF?  Where the fuck did that come from? Correct me if I'm wrong but are you implying you're bothered when a black person makes an insult? Or are you saying that it bothers you when people makes insults twords black youth? Either way it goes why is it especially blacks?

You know, whatever grinds your gears is all you, but geez Kazuko. Getting upset over people using "queer" and racist comments? Face it, everyone's racist some way or another. Hell, my jokes are blunt and extremely racist, and you still think they're funny. Even the people of the race that my jokes direct it towards think it's funny.

I hate racist/sexuality/religious debates nowadays, but there's a lot of irony in your post. If you were against people making racist comments, why are you discriminating against black people?

But as for Leslie, you need to calm down. Why are you making assumptions thinking it's directed at you? No need to get defensive.

I don't know if you saw my last picture and caption but it was a picture of spider man dancing and my caption said " Spid3r man is qu33r". Plus, she posted her comment right after mine. And she knows I'm black. She along with many others have seen the picture (once again my avatar) I have as my avatar. Calm down she says... Pfft.

Okay, I'll admit fault to that, being I wasn't here at the time to notice it. But one of the primary things that drives people against you is your defensive attitude. Either way, Kazuko probably shouldn't have made a comment while acknowledging the circumstances in terms of referencing people and timing.

Customers that treat us baggers like F***ing SEARCH ENGINES! <Directed to customer>I'm sorry, do you SEE the "Google 'G' " on my forehead? STRING A SENTENCE TOGETHER IF YOU WANT SOMETHING, YOU STUPID F***! WE SHOULDN'T HAVE TO RESPOND TO THE WORD "PICKLES" UNLESS IT STARTS WITH "WHERE WOULD I FIND THE --"!!! How stupid, rude, dishonoring, disrespectful, and assuming to do otherwise! </directed> Just because we're serving them somehow, doesn't necessarily mean that we're less human than these pretentious failures at life! Most of the baggers I know are SMARTER than these dumbasses (and have even surprised some customers with just how much so, in terms of math, vocabulary, and just plain LIFE), so unless/until they feel like treating us like HUMANS (for once), they need to dislodge the sticks from their asses, and wake up to the truth of the matter-- We're NOT targets for their cars to try to hit (so drive with a DROP of common sense), we're NOT search engines (use a full fricking sentence), we do NOT take joy in bagging in their esoteric hemp-based bags (at LEAST use our somewhat-easier paper, IF that), we do NOT think their bratty bastard children are cute when they shriek in our ears, so they need to shut up and buy their groceries like EVERYONE ELSE THAT HAS AN OUNCE OF COMMON SENSE!

I once tore all the ligiments in my ankle. Hell, I still have horrific damage there.

The first thing you should do (besides a doctor and x-ray) is keep off it for a while. If you need to walk, I recommend a cane or crutch. If you can't use those for a reason, look for an air-cast (do they still make those?). That'll cushion your ankle while allowing you to walk.

People who casually say they will go to the con, but they HAD to go ahead and say they weren't going anymore after I upgrade my hotel room to a suite and reserve tickets for them.
So I have to go back and cancel tickets and stuff...
It really annoys me, why can't they plan their trip and stick to it in the first place?

She continuously asked me if there is somebody else she can speak to. After telling her no 20 times she gives up and accepts our director's business card and eaves. Like five minutes later I see an instructor telling her the exact same thing I said. This happens a second time with another instructor, until our director finally comes out to the save the day. You know what grinds my gears?

Jerks at Conventions who walk up to you (not cosplaying, of course) and pick apart your costume for accuracy.  It's especially annoying when the only anime they watch is dubs on Adult Swim.  And it's the most annoying when they condescend to you (them wearing their one laminate badge, and you with 10) about the character you've chosen.  IRRITATING!

Seriously, a couple of years ago, my friends and I did a Rainbow Brite (animated in Japan) cosplay group.  I was Stormy, the cool one.  And this random guy comes up to me and is like "Rainbow Brite at an ANIME convention?"  I had to calmly explain to him that sounds should not come out of his mouth when he knows not of what he speaks.

What also grinds my gears is people who barely know anything about anime and saying that it sucks.
"Anime is so gay, the only thing you see anime is blonde chicks with blue eyes."
Uh.......
Not to mention they're like "Its a cartoon, nothing much different from south park." South Park is not anime.....

Also, people who think they know everything about anime when the only thing they ever watch is a couple of episodes of dubbed Naruto on Adult Swim.

What grinds my gears is that I make a pop culture reference (even from the most mainstream thing in the world) and NOONE gets it. I'm thinking "ugh, there is more to pop culture than just anime, sigh."

What else grinds my gears is when self-entitled and obviously BORED people start 5H1T on the Sample Budget thread just to get attention.

Also when planets are needlessly downgraded.  "Sailor Moon" has been adversely affected.

Cosplayers who think that a giant sword/prop makes up for a half-assed costume.

Or big ass weapons in general.

A weapon that is really 'neat' as in has special effects, or required a lot of ingenuity plus a decent costume; yes that's awesome. A sword that's really, really big and is the main focus of a 'costume'; sorry dude with obvious compensations issues, not impressed.

Apparently, my roommates former roommates have a few big reasons for not living with her anymore. For me theres only one thing that really pisses me off most about her.
She gets overly excited/angry in a VERY loud way about things that I do not Give a shit about ( 4chan, CGL, encyclopedia dramatica, and all of the insignificant losers who are are part of it)

Whether or not I care,( and I never do) she insists I look at it whatever what ever petty crap shes ranting about.
That's annoying enough, but it's not what grinds my gears.

What grinds my gears, is that whenever I see/hear something I find interesting  shell either flat out ignore me, shrug and say 'huh'  or  just say " I don't care."

That is really fucking disrespectful and just plain RUDE.

Sometimes, I wish the 'internets' would just crash for a week or so.

What grinds my gears...on a serious note....

Not having a job to pay for hospital bills, and to pay for gas to get me to the places that I need medical attention from...and finding out that the medical insurance I have isn't excepted/doesn't cover what I REALLY need.

Every job I call to check up on, isn't hiring and has been forced to ct back staff/close down. T-T

Not so serious note:
Aol. I fXking hate aol AND Dial Up.

Dude, you made me lol. ^_^ Maybe I should move to seattle.

Another thing that grinds my gears, is when you leave your pet in the care of family members for a vacation. You come back and the poor thing is starved, sick and the tip of his tail is DEAD. He has an abcess on the side of his mouth, he is covered in gunk, and there is a mucus build up in his eyes.

Just becuase he is a hairless rat, doesn't mean you can just let him starve. He's a pet too, and he is like a person too. A very very fragile little person.

I hate how my school is so full of over-achieving [people] that the "regular" people can't keep up and aren't chosen to do extra-curricular things just because their GPA isn't high enough.
Note that even the regular people are smarter than the average student in California, too. D:<

In turn, it'd be harder for the regular people to go to an okay college (e.g. UC's) because all the over-achieving people makes them look like idiots in comparison. D:<<

What? That's silly. Academic standards aren't so much based on intelligence than they are in work ethic. As long as you're smart enough to know how to work, you're "smart enough". Overachievers and students with higher GPAs are just people who are willing to work hard enough to surpass the rest of their competition. It isn't that hard to get into a UC.

As long as you're willing to work really hard, appear clean-cut, and use some common sense... developing social skills to make contacts and working to build up a good record, a lot of things can be done. It's all a matter of whether or not you're willing to push yourself to do so.

Well, I found out that my rat has a disease in his tail that made it necrotic. Just fucking lovily. I don't have funds to take him to a vet, and most likely will have to cut the tip of his tail off MYSELF. In hopes that the disease won't spread and KILL him.

I will never EVER leave any future pet with a caretaker ever again.

Oh god, that's terrible. ;__;

I would be in total shock if my rat had necrosis anywhere in that situation. Just be careful to disinfect his tail constantly, as rodents love to desecrate everywhere which is hazardous from all the bacteria. If possible, even tightly bandage it with whatever you can during the first day-- hopefully he won't gnaw it off and whatnot. Oh man, that's just... horrible. I hope he'll make it out okay. Did you ever find out how it even happened?

That reminds me. I HATE it when ants find their way into my pets' tank/cages/food bowls. It doesn't happen often, but when it does, it really annoys me. I don't want ants irritating my pets, especially not in their food. I spotted an ant in our snake's tank the other day and got Mikey to help me get rid of all the bedding asap. It's weird, as our snake eats all his food without leaving a trace while I'm there monitoring him, so I don't see why ants should have the gull to infiltrate his lovely abode. >:(

I am going to call the vet and see how much it would cost to clip off about an inch of his tail. I can't bring myself to do it, for fear that it may get infected afterwards. Also see how much antibiotics are, and see if I can raise money to help him.

Confirming the bolded line. As long as you meet either of the minimum requirements, whether it be GPA+min test scores or just straight out bloody high scores in your ACT or SAT, the UC guarantees a spot for you- usually in Merced or Riverside. I got into the latter via sleeping through all of Junior and Senior year, but acing the standardized tests (they're easy, dammit, if you high school kiddies can just stop stressing over them for once). Worst mistake I've ever made was to accept entry into the UC system via their test score exempt system- intelligence is, in fact, a far second to work ethic.

Davis isn't that hard to get into, either. An average, or slightly above average GPA would get you in, Freshman year. As long as you're willing to do the the work and procedures to get into it straight from high school, then you should have no problem. If your GPA is less than average, you could easily sign up for a transfer program and take 2 years of community college until you have your GEs done and transfer in as a junior. Again, it isn't a matter of intelligence. It's a matter of whether or not you're willing to do the work. UCs are overrated in terms of difficulty of being accepted. Compare to Columbia, or any of its sister schools. Compare with Art Center.

Depending on what you want to do, yes, intelligence, ability, talent, AND work ethic are all important... but you're trying to get into a UC. It's average. Both smart and normal people get into UCs. You just have to work for it, and in comparison to the schools I last mentioned above, the work is just about average, as well.

But I wouldn't even think about going into a university if you have absolutely no idea on what direction you're trying to take. Messing around in a university costs both time and money. But if you are considering getting into a UC, I would suggest taking the extra effort to apply for several scholarships to help you along the way. Not only would they help fund your education, but they'll serve as motivation to keep your grade up-- because in most cases, if you're not going to take advantage of the benefits they give you, you're stripped of your opportunity to stay there.

Otaku who go to animation/art school and call themselves 'artists'.

" I know this place is messy cluttered with so much shit that you can't walk but as an artists I need a lot of supplies"

" Oh did you draw that? I'm an artists let me give you advice"

" Well, I'm an artist so I'm kind of anal about color "

" Let me see! I have an artist eye for things.

I'v been drawing since I was two but I'm not in art school so I don't know a damned thing about art.

I am however working on a degree in Law so I guess  I can go around to crime scenes and say " Don't worry I'm a lawyer!"

" As a Lawyer, I advise you not to speak on this matter"

" Oh, yea, that's totally legal, I know cuz I'm a lawyer"

Really,otaku in animation/art in general.
You have turned someone who has always loved art into one of those horrible 'art is useless' people. You must be very proud.

Apathy.

The sentiment that things are fucked anyhow, and that you can't do shit about it, so why bother, really grinds my gears. Things are fucked up because there aren't enough people caring enough to force a change to the status quo! Don't give me the "human condition" bullshit- the only constant damned thing about the human condition is that we have an overriding operative to adapt the human condition to fit our environment! Things are fucked and things will continue to be fucked because people who could have stood up refused to do so! American democracy is fucked because not enough of you bright and cynical bastards are bright enough to pool your damned vote! Your religion's public reputation's fucked because you lot are too damned meek to stand up against the belligerent posturing of the louder, crazier, and more self-righteous part of your congregation!

It isn't because the least common denominator is as crass, boorish and dumb as it appears- it's because the damned LCD is too spineless to stand up against those few too brainless to know that they're dragging down the level of public discourse.

I couldn't agree more.
There's actually nothing I hate more than people who wont ifight for what they want. It's the reason I'm going into law.

I used to have go to Dialysis, they took away  all our rights while we were there and told s to 'be greatful we were alive"

People would bitch and moan and complain, but I was the only one who would try to fight them. Persistence only got me so far because
giant corporations adhere only to the law. I decided that once I got out of that hell hole I'd learn the laws and use it against them.

It's been little more than a year since I got off of Dialysis and I've learned quite a bit about using the law against those who claim to uphold it. I'm really amazed at how many times it has worked.
Best of all, it REALLY pisses them off because they know they can't argue with it.
The greatest victory of all was against those asses at Sakuracon. I was so very cocky about it and they said NOTHING.

Kind of a rant, I know. My point is that for the few us who want to fight, the law is NOT your enemy.

It isn't because the least common denominator is as crass, boorish and dumb as it appears- it's because the damned LCD is too spineless to stand up against those few too brainless to know that they're dragging down the level of public discourse.

AND THAT REALLY GRINDS MY GEARS!

Hm. We'll have to agree to disagree on your last point, I'd say. I do consider the Law to be an enemy, knowing what I do about how they're made, and the intent they're made with. Institutionalized privilege is still privilege- private law. There are countless literal tons of laws in the book that are designed either explicitly or implicitly to give one group an unfair advantage over another- not in the name of justice or truth or merit, but in the name of personal gain. I'd even go so far as to argue that the main problem with legislators is that they're lawyers, and so they have a vested interest in creating legislature that necessitates a lawyer in order to unravel or adhere to.

Not because lawyers are intrinsically evil, of course, but because lawyers are intrinsically human, and I don't have too many issueswith the underlying principles of capitalism- that people are motivated by their self-interests.

Of course, it's therefore in my own self-interest to act against this paradigm.

The dumb jerk that was at the tattoo studio saying " Not to be a herk but rats don't last that long, usually a couple months and just fed to snake....lol"

The audacity of that comment made me want to beat the ever loving shit out of him. But you can't fix stupid and you can't 'educate' someone like that about a domesticated rat breed specificaly for domestic life as a pet. They just won't listen. (This wasn't from the guy I am apprenticing from btw)

I'm so sorry to hear about your rat.  I know he (she?) meant a lot to you.  It's hard to explain to people how much pets mean, and how hard it is when they pass.  I can't help much from here, but know I'm thinking good thoughts for you.

What grinds my gears?  People who speed thru my parking lot at 4 o'clock in the morning and wake me up.

Sorry to hear about your rat, I know how you feel. My Cockatiel flew away couple years ago, I've had that bird for half my life. Even though it wasn't like he died when I had him, but it was just as painful. Its unfortunate thing for your rat to die, but you put him (or her) down because it was suffering right?

Yes, it was the more humaine thing to do. I couldn't afford to pay and continue to pay for a long term care. In retrospect a day later, I sorta luagh at when I told the nurse "Oh my God, I am going to go to Hell for killing my pet." But she shook her head and said the same thing you did. I still feel bad about it...but I know he's up there in Rat Heaven, porking out on rat nummies.

It grinds my gears, becuase it really made me think about how much influence money has on us. You either have it or you don't. And if you don't, your pretty much screwed. Sometimes I wish there was a way to do things differently, a favor for favor. But as we all know, you can't trust people to be honest and keep their word. :/

It grinds my gears so much when my mom says "you should be studying for your SAT II's tomorrow, what are you doing watching something on your computer?!"

She doesn't understand that I'm developing health problems due to so much stress and she won't listen to anything I say, even if it's along the lines of "I've been studying all I can, even during classes, I'm trying my best but I need to take a break today."

She also doesn't understand that when I lock my door, I want it closed, not forced back open. I want some privacy, and I want to stay away from her for a while. D:< Damn this stupid house with it's stupid easy-to-open doors.

Yeah I know that one. I "moved" out. Even though I don't have a room...I am much happier to at least have a place where nothing is sifted through, thrown out, 'borrowed' and I have free roam of the house. (whithin reason)

That and my grandparents are more fun to be around then my mom and her husband.

People who use 'stress' as an excuse.

My grandmother called me the other day after a kidney biopsy to see if it was being rejected that I did after looking for a job so that I can pay rent and eventually move out of the hell hole I live in, while I was trying to fill out paper work to appeal financial aid after I had to drop a class and lose my lab credits from doctor appointments. She asks " Oh, do you think maybe your kidney is being rejected because of stress?"

" No, no it isn't. That's a load of bullshit."  Really, it wasn't a big deal. It was a lot of things at once, but nothing that I can't handle by simply keeping my wits about me.  ( yea, yea, 'mines worse' I know)  It's really nothing more than different sides of the same coin.

I don't care how much is going on at once. Yea you may get tired and even headache-y but I do not believe for an instant that it can make you sick enough to be considered a reasonable excuse to not do anything, unless you let it.

What I hate even more, is getting home from a generally crappy day and while quietly keeping it to myself having to hear " OMG! I am SO stressed out cuz my teacher is giving me homework and she needs to understand that I have cosplay costumes to make! I'm gonna report her!"  ::)

...that is a dangerous line of reasoning. Psychological stress has quantifiable physiological impact. Stress does kill- it's just that the average high school kiddie whining about homework hasn't really met that level of stress before. Or probably ever will.

I go to one of the more stressful high schools in California, and it's not very fun having finals next week, SAT II's, and... so as my heart is constantly skipping more beats, I'm still studying but trying to limit myself, so I'm not dropping everything because of stress. It was just for that hour. So in turn, I guess I grind my own gears with my lack of a lot of things. ^^;; So, sorry if I offended you.

Fair enough. I suppose a severe, and I mean SEVERE amount of stress can make one sick. It's just that NONE of the whining I've heard has got anywhere near that level.

Not the first I've been told my line of thinking is 'dangerous' either but I'm still here. *Shrug*

I already posted this in the "complain about whatever you want" thread, buttt i'm gonna post it again lol

I was set on getting around ~ a 4.1 GPA this semester, I had all A's (except math, B-, but I had AP classes that would bring my weighted GPA up anyways so w/e) and then, I get my report card.  I got an 89.3% in one class, and an 89.8% in another

HOW FRIGGEN ANNOYING IS THAT???

and I can't even do anything like talk to my teacher about it because it's the end of the year!

I never took a SAT or ACT, I found them stupid and a waste of money. Forgive me, but I was rarely around average until I went to independant study. (Then my grades were 96.2%)

I think the way Highschool curriculum (sp?) is tuaght is for the birds. Not everyone can learn or be tuaght the same way.
And I think measuring someones' intelligence with a test is dumb too. You don't truly know what a person is capable of until you work with them on a personal level. You can't just generally assume that people between certain percentages/averages are smarter or less intellignt then the other.

lol Though, those that have done exceptionally well in school, congrats and I hope you get into wherever you want to go too!

...and that is my grind.

People who watch [asian] dramas WAY too freaking much, decide that it's so cool to be distraught and just torn apart by dramas so in real life, they are too over-dramatic about crap and make things 100x more worse than they need to be... It's... really... annoying...

Most of the people I know are insufferably dramatic without Asian drams.

They are numero  uno on the list of  -Top ten thing's that make Yuu's 'urge to kill' rise.

Apparently, I take things far too lightly.
I'm only doing my part as a concerned citizen to regulate the Earth's critical drama levels that will one day destroy us all.( Global warming is just red haring)
You will thank me some day

.. of coarse I also say that about groups of people doing the 'hare hare Yukaii" ..which brings me to another gear-grinding rant.

The hare Hare Yuka;

The first time saw it I was...mildly impressed, yet hated the song with a passion.

2nd time I saw it I was VERY sick of it.

3rd-20th time I repeatedly  stabbed myself in the eyes and ears with a hot poker

20th- 35th and I had stabbed all of my limbs and was working on each vital organ.

After 1,836, 612,320, 052 times there is no possibly way I could physically harm myself  any further. Thus I simply die a little inside each time.

It's not a very major gear-grinder, but when I see people come out of high school with the spelling capabilities of a middle-school chump, I get somewhat irritated. You've gone through how many English classes? And you still misspell every ten words? Hell, even your bloody web browser comes with a spellcheck built-in these days- and there's Google to fact-check for anything you aren't a hundred percent sure about. Chances are your arguments are probably obtuse, illogical and confounding anyhow- why make comprehension worse with atrociously basic spelling and grammatical errors?

Don't worry my typing sucks too...but that is usually induced by medication that sorta leaves me...in...an altered mindset.

Which actually grinds my gears. Alot. I hate having to take medication that messes up my perception of things, and inhibits me from doing  stuff. It's okay when its just before bedtime...but some stuff I have/had to take a couple times a day.
Now, if I could choose to not take them I would.

Another thing that grinds my gears is how slow progress seems to be. @_@  I wish I was 'all better'. Gah~!

A paper cut to the togue when licking an envelope is a bitch and really grinds my gears too, btw.

That reminds me of my friend's mom. She acts like the whole world is a soap opera. The reason for anything happening in life to her is some retarded response about sex. Anybody pissed off at somebody of the opposite gender is automatically in love with that person in secret. Or any couple arguing has always to do with "trouble in the bedroom". And of course a guy who hangs with a girl thats not his gf for even a split second is likely to cheat.
Yes, I feel like strangling this woman sometimes. There's no reasoning or logic with her. She's also extremely racist, but thats a whole other thing.

Hm? Was that directed toward me? People away do bitch at me for it.

The irony is that I can spell just fine,it's my typing that sucks.

Oy, oy. Lay off the paranoia. It was hardly directed at you.

We're on the internets. I'm directing it at everybody.

Wut du ju meen?  I C gud spelin on te inernet.  Cuz wurds can B letrs n we dun need vowls or nuttin, du we?

Before anyone attacks me I DO understand that there is an accepted pattern of "internet-ese" people are using when they type like that.  But good Lord it's annoying sometimes.  There's a great book called Doing Our Own Thing: The Degradation of Language and Music and Why We Should, Like, Care  by John McWhorter that people should read...it's frightening.

Ah, irony.

The sad thing is that it isn't all THAT bad. Yea, it completely lacks punctuation, but at least they spelled out all their words. One hell of a step up from a lot of crap out there.

Since this topic is still here, I may as well add my idea of 'acceptable'.

For an asinine 4-chan/gameFAQS mentality forum I don't expect to see whole words. In the insignificant scene of things it could not matter any less.

You're average posts where you have a point to get across, a few spelling errors and basic punctuation are fine.  After all, the internet is not serious business.
I do hate when people get on my case for not using bloody MLA standards for anything less than a persuasive essay.
That's a bit much.

It seems today, hardly anyone uses proper English when texting on the phone or anything anymore. It kind of creepy actually.

I don't mind proper grammar so much, as long as the phrase makes sense. Seeing that if something is a phrase, it's already improper. It annoys me more when people type without any sense of punctuation or structure...

See the above quote for an example.

Also, does that mean you hate everyone on this thread, seeing that the entire point of this thread was to complain about something you hate? You know the sort of folks that can't help themselves- they absolutely have to respond to every insult, every slight that passes their way? It's really irritating when they do that. It's like they're completely unaware that they're being deliberately goaded- over and over- for the amusement of others. That they've become a cartoon- a caricature of themselves, and the only one that doesn't know it is... themselves.

By that point, it doesn't matter how smart they are, or whether or not they're right, or whether or not their bite formerly had any weight to it- they've been defanged. It's all gums now.  And it's all because they can't help themselves, stooping to the level of their critics every time another dog of the mob yaps away at them. Nothing but a fight amongst mongrels.

And that's no bloody fun.

I swear, nobody has a sense of style anymore. Bloody grinds my gears, it does.

Anyway,it's this jerk off at my college who thinks he's god gift to women. He constantly lies to everyone around him,but especially to women. To get to the owning part. He took one class with this very big, buffed out mean dude. This dude would always call him names. He even call him f#@&ing Hadji(indian kid in Johnny Quest). It's really surprising he didn't say anything about that since he flies off the handle if you make fun of India in any way. So yeah, he completely denies it when you tell this to him.(several people have seen it happen, so it is true) He even makes up stuff about not backing down from anybody that talks sh!^ to him. And sometimes even says he beat the hell out out of somebody who insulted him. That's about the only thing I won't miss when I transfer over to another college.

Not impressed. To me that's a "who gives a damn" kind of thing. Atleast the guy is trying, unlike the majority of guys out there.
Not here to impress you. Just telling the story of a douche that I am forced to see everyday. Or one who grinds my gears if you will.(wait, that may have sounded gay. 0_0)

While most situations with people like this, it's like "Augh, whatever. F*ck that guy." ... but I know how it feels to have irritating people like this around you. Boy, do I. It's worst when you have to WORK... with them. At least it's at school, and not at the workplace.

Arrogant jerks who insult everyone, but seem to have a revisionist memory and convenient amnesia when you bring up them being totally owned.

This'll be hillarious.

Just when and what was this ownage?
Thank you. I am hilarious. Looks like somebody should have been at the Comedy Club.  ;)
Anyway,it's this jerk off at my college who thinks he's god gift to women. He constantly lies to everyone around him,but especially to women. He says things like his family owns a hotel,a McDonalds, or that he's part of some royalty in India.(obviously because he's indian) And also that he's a black belt in muay thai.(some of you will know why that sentence is wrong) In the tutoring center where I work at, he's always trying to trick to tutors to do his homework for him. And on occasion insults, like telling one my friends there that she's got shit for brains.
I was about to go head on to that retarded stalker at fanime by asking questions peacefully since he was very suspicious blending in wit a underage cosplayers not interacting. He fuckin refused, got paranoid of what I was trying to say to him, and snapped.  I can't believe he grabbed my arms harshly while he just talks back, yelling and I didn't fight back at all but only can say "calm down" (since I'm not stupid enough to get kicked out of the con if I did fight back)!  All I know he would of been in deep shit if I reported his ass sooner!  I'm also worried that he would do the same towards a cosplaying girl and scare alot of people!

I'm tempted to call bullshit on this. Or are you saying that not one of your club's officers were willing to put their foot down and declare under no uncertain terms that they were not welcomed to attend, and not invited to any future events?

And if you were sure of the stalker's behavior, why didn't you report him- period? Would have been well within your right to, if your suspicions were sound. And if they weren't, no problem for you- nobody's going to scoff off some light paranoia in the name of the general safety of your fellow congoers.

Go ahead and call it bullshit.  But it might take alot of members from that club tell you what's was going on recently plus I'm not good at explaining about why that one person ruined the club.

At the time I know him in person and he considered me as a friend since we went to the same club and we did talk few times.  So it was better for me to help him out of it instead of being fucked up and report him.  But after that time he overreacted, went far and went out of control and bam there it happened.  I've lost respect in him.

Che, even worse people talking about things they couldn't possibly understand.

This medicine I used to take to not die was so disgusting that I felt like utter shit everyday.

I was lucky, most others who have to take it deveolped stumoch cancer/ulcers at a young age.
Also one of the chemicals smelled SO bad that a handful of kids actually committed suicide from being made fun of for the way it smelled Stupid. They should have just stopped taking it. They wouldn't be made fun of and died anyway.

Of coarse, people who had NO idea, doctors mostly, my sister especially, would have the gall to say something like "Well if it keeps you alive then I wouldn't complain" Mind you my siser whiiiines if she has to take anti-biotics.

Oh, and another thing. People who have to argue about EVERYTHING. Especially when it's so very inconsequential and with NO basis.

I was just telling my roomate that "Valkyrie Profile;Silmeria 'is so damned pretty

Well I'm sorry if I offended you.  I guess just feeling like garbage doesn't matter when you're comparing to someone who is seriously ill.  I'll erase it right away and make sure I try to never post something that offends people again.  I was just complaining about MY personal feelings about things in MY personal life.  I wasn't comparing it to your experiences.

Actually, while I understand what you mean, I find it more irritating when people have the mentality of "No one understands my pain! Any pain that you've suffered, I've gone through worse!". The type of people who try to induce some sort of pity competition of, "Well, my life is worse than yours." and comforting others with, "That's okay. If you think that's bad, I went through [insert random bad situation here]." and assume it makes people feel better. It doesn't.

You have the right to complain about your issues, while your sister is allowed to complain about her antibiotics. Yes, it's irritating when people whine about little things that they could just easily let go or not care about-- things that are so little in comparison to whatever hardship you've undergone that it's irritating how unaware they are of their luck, and blah blah blah blah blah.

But people have different scales in terms of what causes them pain, some are stronger than others, while some grow with experience to become stronger. Pain is pain, and everyone suffers through something.

Both sides are pretty irritating, but it's subjective. Like, I have allergies... almost daily. Sometimes they become extremely severe, and I want to claw my sinuses out. Even though I've had them since childhood, it's something so irritating that I don't "get used to it". If someone with a clinical disease were to come up to me and say, "Well, your allergies are nothing. I'm always sick, and it's really bad." I'd be pretty upset. Just because they supposedly have it worse, doesn't make what I may undergo "nothing".

And if it were something stupid like... someone bugging me for pity because they didn't get the right color car they wanted from their parents' birthday gift while I have to buy my own from scratch and pay everything on my own and whatnot, that'd be pretty irritating too.

I can name tons of scenarios, real ones, personal ones-- but those are some basic examples of how it goes both ways.

Bottom line is... what grinds my gears? Pity competitions.

But with an assumption like "...You really DON'T get it", well, it really explains what I meant, and what kind of person you are, doesn't it?

Ah no. No, I am not that kind of person at all. I know many of them and they should all just drop dead if they can't handle it. In fact I said something to that effect in my first post.

I meant that you did not get my point, not my situation. In general I find that people just DO NOT 'get' that yes, I can talk about things like that without wanting pity.

Yes 'everyone suffers' and yes I HATE it when people make a comparison but you came to that conclusion on your own.

This is 'what grinds your gears'. So I agreed with you and then further stated 'what else grinds my gears'. There was no comparison there.

Now then, medicine that makes you sick sucks.
People expecting pity sucks.
Not being able to talk about something without someone automatically jumping to the wrong conclusion sucks.

Hell life sucks and then you die..(except me because I am immortal) and that's that. Moving on now.

I dunno about the rest of ye, but I don't plan on EVER dying.

At least, not functionally.

I heard they finally perfected that synapse-mapping machine last year. If we assume nanotech and quantum-state tech advances as rapidly as Moore's Law predicts (and, hell, there are indicators that seem to suggest they may beat Moore's Law by a magnitude or two)... well, hell, I wouldn't say no to having my brain replaced piecemeal by a longer-lasting, faster-running equivalent. It's either that or having my own body betray me over time.

So, for tonight's gear-grinder: neophobic fatalists. Fuck y'all and your death and taxes bullshit- there's an infinite horizon out there, and I've yet to see a fraction of it all!

HA! Amen to that!

In family guy Stewy goes on a trip and says that " the only reason we die is because we accept it"  To an extent, I believe that.
I tend to think that more often than not if people would fight hard enough, instead of just accepting it, they could probably cheat death a few times.

As far as putting my brain into a robot..as long as it were a robot of my choice. I'd want want to be a ninja-bot personally.

Ah no. No, I am not that kind of person at all. I know many of them and they should all just drop dead if they can't handle it. In fact I said something to that effect in my first post.

Ah, well... Glad to hear it. I know too many people that are. If you're strong enough to manage your own issues without forcing it upon others to take pity upon you, then you were the type of person I was referring to in the first post.

QuoteI meant that you did not get my point, not my situation. In general I find that people just DO NOT 'get' that yes, I can talk about things like that without wanting pity.

When you made the comment, "Che, even worse people talking about things they couldn't possibly understand." to what BrightHeart had said, it was pretty misleading. It seemed like you were comparing your ailments with her suffering through feeling like crap from medication.

And believe me, I know how crappy you can feel from medication. It's not something to be taken lightly, I'd say.

QuoteYes 'everyone suffers' and yes I HATE it when people make a comparison but you came to that conclusion on your own.

This is 'what grinds your gears'. So I agreed with you and then further stated 'what else grinds my gears'. There was no comparison there.

I do agree that when people wrongly make the comparison of "everyone feels pain" is irritating, but in some cases, it does apply. It's not as if I don't find it irritating when people bitch and whine about little things that are so petty in comparison to real issues people go through, but I also acknowledge that to an extent (which is subjective), people have different scales as to how they perceive and handle pain and stress.

QuoteNow then, medicine that makes you sick sucks.
People expecting pity sucks.
Not being able to talk about something without someone automatically jumping to the wrong conclusion sucks.

Hell life sucks and then you die..(except me because I am immortal) and that's that. Moving on now.

The fact that Sonic has commercials here but NO restaurants anywhere in this state. That's just cruel.

All of those things suck, but I didn't jump into the wrong conclusion. It was very much relative, whether or not it directly related to you.

As for Sonics... Yeah. Closest one to the Bay Area is in Tracy, which takes several hours to get to by car. :T

Bah. To hell with robot bodies. Give me full access control to my sensory inputs and a network of similarly uploaded sentiences. Doesn't even need to be human sentience. Then set us loose on a digital Eden- whole fields of data storage and processing banks, ultrawide bandwidth, and the energy to power it all. Hell, the only reason to dick around with Universe 1.0's to convert more and more of it into computronium so as to create even more worlds, give birth to even more mind children... and, in the long run, calculate an escape vector from this universe's inevitable heat death.

The real world sucks. Nothing we do here matters, and it's taken us thousands of years to just get to the point where we can even dream about doing anything about it. And who knows if there's anybody out there to help? That's my biggest gear-grinder of all- and should be the biggest gear-grinder of any sentient mind that seeks a reason to continue to strive- that we've been condemned to die for the crime of living.

Well, to hell with that. Increase funding into experimental physics! Crack open the secret of gravity! Smash apart all of the terrestrial planets and reassemble them into computronium homes for a thousand trillion fast-thinkers- and tear the secrets of the universe out from its bleeding clutches! If the laws of reality are dead set on killing us... then it's high time we changed the law.

You don't have a clue what a host club is do you?

And just to add... you couldn't afford one if there was one here. Seeing that a super cheap night there would be 800-1k, and an expensive night would be upwards to 20k... yeah.

Doubt it. The majority people who assume they know what a host club is, especially those who discover them through OHSHC, normally don't. One being held in the U.S. would be impossible, due to legal reasons. Even if that wasn't a problem, people probably wouldn't invest that much money to create one.

Why would you be happy to know that such a shady horrible business exists in the US? Knowing that the sole purpose of the establishment is to take advantage of lonely women to give them false hopes and lies? Knowing that these women will spend thousands of dollars to achieve nothing but false hopes, crushed dreams, and wasted time?

Totally different. Gameshows, lottery, Sports Tournaments, Gambling all have possible payouts. People DO win the lottery, people do make money on game shows, people do make money gambling.

There are male-escort services, but if you think a host cafe is anything like getting an escort, you are sorely mistaken.

Here, I'll just up and explain how a host-club works.

You walk in, and you pick from a book who you want your host to be(or you name them if you know their name). They will tell you if they're available, and how many women are already at his table. You then pay the entry fee, or you can pay a premium fee to get a special table where he will come and only you are there(though how long he stays there is everchanging). Now you sit there, and this guy acts like a guy you're on a date with. The flip is that, he's being nice so that you will buy more stuff. You will buy more drinks for him to drink, you will spend thousands on alcohol, with the premise that "hey... MAYBE just MAYBE I have a shot. It's why, basically only middle ages women who feel they have no hope getting a man, bored rich house wives, and girls that do similar work go to them. They KNOW they're being fooled, but it's just false hope.

On the hosts side it works like this. You basically lead on a girl over as long as possible. You don't over do it at the beginning, because then she feels she has nothing to work for, nothing to look forward to. So a hosts job is to basically string you as long as he possibly can, so you spend as much money as possible, and KEEP COMING BACK to spend even more. And to do this, you remove your emotions. You don't care about the people, you don't care about how you're literally screwing them over so they spend more money, and just put on a charismatic act.

So you're paying money to sit at a table, most likely with other women for him to tease you and charm you so that YOU will buy alcohol and what not, so the club makes money, and he gets comission. If you don't spend money, he'll ignore you and talk to the girl next to you that does.

But oh yeah... Host Clubs are so great~ That's why every stupid as hell American girl wants to go to one.

On the other hand, rationally, the women go into a host bar fully aware that it's an illusion- and should they cross the line (sexual harassment works both ways), I do believe most establishments would have a policy of reinforcing the facts of the illusion swiftly (shady doesn't equal illegit- you'd only want to toe the line so far, most cases).

Whether or not they choose to deliberately forget the reality of the deal is a personal matter, otherwise.

It's escapism. While there are some serious moral quandaries with the varying levels of exploitation in specific bars, I'm personally not at all in favor of moralistic legislation. Keeping things above-table is good enough in most cases.

They do, but they don't acknowledge it's an illusion. Cross the line? Uh... there's no such thing. Host clubs by defenition are shady. There's also the prostitution that comes from host clubs, but that's usually really expensive(more than US high-class escorts).

It's easy to say it's just "escapism" but it goes beyond that. Why do people get addicted to MMO's? They no longer see it as escapism, but instead seek it as a replacement for the real world.

Oddly, the latest sociological findings around MMOs actually point to a trend in players becoming more socially adept over time, with notes on some preliminary findings regarding gameplay and increased basic intelligence (respectively, group participation and decision-making speed). The MMO addiction panic first popularized was also found to have been based at least partially on arbitrary statistics. While real-world deaths of addicts are all too real, the ratio of functional players and addicts is likely no worse than any other competitive social activity.

But that's an aside. Back on the subject of host clubs, I note that generalizations only serve to weaken one's position, not enforce it- saying "all host clubs are bad" leaves one's position open to assault via exceptions and specifications. As does labeling the entirety of its clientele base as deliberately misled. Rather, all you've effectively argued is that there should be more oversight of such organizations to keep them nominally respectable as to modern community standards. And even that is very much dependent on specific communities in question.

What exactly are you basing these "exceptions" on? Frankly, I doubt anyone here has been to a host club or know about them. Least half as much as what I've read up on, experienced myself, and discussed with a few who have been etc.

Never, ever trust hearsay and personal anecdote. They're the least reliable form of datagathering available to you. They're a good place to start from- but further research is necessary if you're actually interested in the truth.

And the truth of the matter? Host clubs were a fringe industry. Now (http://www.time.com/time/arts/article/0,8599,193635,00.html) they're (http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2004/sep/18/japan.justinmccurry) in the spotlight (http://www.forbes.com/global/2004/0112/081.html).

Note that the three articles identify the two main trends amongst Japanese hostclubs- an increase in respectability, and a decrease in the average age of the women clientele. As more attention is focused upon this fringe industry, more pressure is put upon it to conform to standard regional morality- which then, luckily for them, opens them up to a larger clientele base. Are there still seedy clubs? Is there still the stink of prostitution lingering over their reputation? Certainly- but the trend is going against it.

I'm not a huge fan of the libertarian lasseiz faire approach to market regulation (people are too fucked up for that to be a universal solution), but a hell of a lot can be said for casting a bit of sunlight in the right corners.

That's an insufficient argument. At the very least, the Times article was written by a native correspondent.  And they're less skewed than personal anecdote- which, again, is about as concrete as aerogel. Not to mention that while the first assertion that I made- that the host clubs are inching towards respectability- might be considered highly subjective, the second point- that the average age of its clienteles are dropping- isn't. The fact of the second even supports the first- you don't get increased and younger clientele without first building a more positive reputation.

There were a couple Japanese paper articles I wanted to link, but they were both apparently lost after a merger between two papers. Irritating, but that's just how things go sometimes.

Mine wasn't personal anecdote, as I said I've read up quite a bit about it. Anecodte was just in additioin to that. And honestly, native coorespondent doesn't mean anything. Take Kotaku for example. Brian Ashcraft is the native coorespondent for Japan and he knows about as ms much as your average stupid American. Despite living there, and being married to a Japanese girl for years. Inching towards respectable is contradictory to the very reason the establishment exists.

It'd be like stating "Strip bars are inching towards more respectable". They may be cleaning up their act and being less lude, but it doesn't change the point an establishment exists. As for the age decrease. It's half true. But it isn't a significant number decrease. We're not seeing 21 year olds frequenting the places . It's not uncommon to see a woman in her 20's attending one, to sample what it's like, but these are rarely the base clientel. Prices for your average host cafe are far too expensive for your average 20 year old to pay for, seeing that they're barely in college. Spending even 50,000 yen for a night of drinking is extreme.

So as I said, it's very biasly written and skewed. It's written for a foreign audience, not the Japanese audience. Things have to be made more appealing sounding, without totally trashing on JP culture.

Host clubs may be a little ethically unsound, but the same could be said of casinos, strip clubs, or any other establishment that openly exploits the naivete and/or delusions of its clientele. Personally, I get what Pyron is saying about the dubiousness and general sleaziness of it all, but at the same time Kaura is also right that these types of businesses do trend toward at least some semblance of legitimacy.

Las Vegas for instance was largely influenced by organized crime in the 1940s and 50s, but as the city's reputation grew, it began attracting more people, and developers with huge sums of money more or less transformed the city into the (somewhat) more family-oriented attraction it is today.

At the end of the day, I feel that if people are willing to pay for the illusion, we should just let them. Sure, the house wins big every night at the casino despite promising the contrary on so many roadside billboards; and those bombshells stuffing your hard-earned money down their thongs will playfully reject every advance you make even as they feign interest in you, but if that's how people choose to be frivolous with their money, let them reap the consequences.

For what it's worth, I would rather see these kinds of businesses legitimized so that their workers can gain the benefits that those in other more "respectable" industries have. We may not necessarily agree with what they do, but if enough people are willing to pay them for their services, and assuming they provide said services at a level of quality consistent with what they are paid, they deserve the kinds of rights and benefits that other workers are entitled to.

Strip clubs are there to see naked women. YThat's where the gratification comes from. Gambling has a pay off.

Vegas is HARDLY family friendly. Anyone that has gone there under the age of 21 knows how boring and horrible vegas is if you're not of age. The only good thing to do is Circus Circus and New York's rides, which get boring fast.

Comparing very different things.

Point taken, and I'm not trying to say they're all on equal ground, but they do all deal in some kind of illusion. With casinos it's the "big win" that is far less common than they'd have you believe; with strip clubs (in addition to all the nakedness and lapdances) it's having a chance at nabbing one of the strippers; and with host clubs it's more or less the same thing. There may be no obvious gratification from being fawned over by a good-looking guy, but for whatever reason the women are starved for it and willing to pay large sums to get it.

It's more than a little screwed-up, and I agree that Host clubs are definitely ethically questionable and exploitive enterprises. But as long as they abide by the laws, they have every right to exist as long as enough people buy what they're selling.

As for Vegas, it's still primarily a 21-and-over city (hence the "somewhat" in my last post), but family-friendly attractions like amusement parks, kid-oriented activities, etc. have become more common since the 1980s or thereabouts. Plus organized crime doesn't have anywhere near the level of influence it once had.

So as I said, it's very biasly written and skewed. It's written for a foreign audience, not the Japanese audience. Things have to be made more appealing sounding, without totally trashing on JP culture.

The late and irrepressible Nobel physicist Richard Feynman successfully argued that strip clubs were, in fact, respectable establishments. It was an interesting- and somewhat impacting- court case in Ithaca a few decades back, and much of it did, in fact, hinge on the definition of community standards. If you wish to draw an analogy between the two, then I will wholeheartedly go along with it- especially given my personal bias against asserting a moralistic stance against forms of escapism, and the fact that there's plenty of precedent to argue this in my favor.

Let's also not forget that Times and the Guardian have no motivation to treat host clubs with anything other than a fair semblance of balance and objectivity- they are not funded by such establishments, and a muckraking expose of the seedier aspects of such clubs would actually serve to increase revenue better. What bias may exist would be fundamentally Eurocentric in nature- but would logically have no significant impact on the writer's favoritism or lack thereof of host clubs in general (not to mention that your seeming unwillingness to assert your own sources leaves neither of us with much to actually argue with in terms of source authority and relevance).

But, finally, I hold that my original point has already been sufficiently proven true anyhow- namely, that, no, not all host clubs are disreputable and gateways to male prostitution. Given the lack of a universal evil in this field- frankly, you'd be a fool to assert an absolutist position on anything, much less this- and given the trend towards younger clientele (younger is younger- and there's a built-in threshold anyhow, given that the market is geared towards full-time professionals), a reactionary "ban all host clubs" attitude is counterproductive at best. We don't ban strip bars- we regulate them (and occasionally have the police break down the front door and slam the establishment shut when they cross the line- happened in SJ a couple months back, I believe). We shouldn't ban host clubs- we should keep their enterprises above-level and in the light.

The ethical questions of host clubs be damned, frankly. Keeping them honest is all that needs to be done- anything else is oppressive busybodying. If a bunch of adult, professional women want to roleplay having a boyfriend with a couple of working-class men over a few glasses of chilled sake, that's their discretion and their problem. Imposing your own moral standards upon them is the height of hypocrisy. If, on the other hand, you can prove to me the socioeconomic harm of such establishments, I might give your position a bit more serious consideration.

(Also, I had a lot of perfectly legitimate fun in Vegas, actually, last summer. I was, I note, 19 at the time, with a full two years left to go before all of Vegas's various amusements were open to me. My entertainment was due to a good, solid mix of intimate company and a hostess with the foresight to plan ahead. There are actually plenty of family-friendly events in Las Vegas, if you actually bother to look around and book ahead.

That said, I did end up sharing an arguably illicit beer with an Irish-American veteran of Iraq, relatively fresh out of duty. Domestic Guinness isn't the worst swill I've ever had, but it's hardly amongst my favorite intoxicants. ...hefeweizen, on the other hand...)

For that matter, what is inherently wrong with prostitution?

Far be it for me to put words in his mouth, but I don't think Pyron was saying that host clubs should actually be shut down as a result of them being morally reprehensible. Rather, I think he was just pointing out his own personal objections to what goes on in them. I can't say I disagree with him there.

Also, dude, your posts are quite often much ado about not a whole lot. And I thought I was wordy.

OK you know what really grind my shit. In my town Manteca, we have a little taqueria called La Costa. This place was the shit. When it first opened you could buy a decent sized burrito for 2.50. For that price you were getting a bargain. About a year later, they realize they have something good and bump the price up a dollar. No problem, it's still worth it. Now about two years ago, they decide to start charging tax. Not really a problem, but the fact that the quality drops a little is kinda depressing, but oh well, still the best deal in town. Now heres what pisses me off. This year, not only do they charge a new price of 3.75 plus tax, but the quality has gone to SHIT, and I do mean SHIT. You could get a better burrito at taco bell, and taco bell is white washed. Not only that, but they call the burrito a "Super Burrito." This place is mainly held up by repeat business. In a small town like mine, pretty much everything is. Now how in the hell are you going to call the same burrito you used to sell a super burrito? Theres nothing different about it except the increase in price and the decrease in quality. It got so bad that I decided to fork up the extra two bucks to go to the competition. I didn't want to do it, since going to the other places means paying more, but I can't handle it anymore. They have surpassed you in quality by far, which is why the entire town is jumping ship. The other places give you a bag of warm chips, and unlimited little cups you can fill with salsa and limes and other things you would find at your normal taqueria. The only time I would go to these places is when I wanted something great, and my friends and I had some tequila and we needed limes for it. Kazuko I hear you live in the neighboring town of Tracy, and I don't know if you eat at the La Costa, but some input would be greatly appreciated, since you have two in Tracy.

Man the one in tracy is pretty cool by tracy high, but the other one I think by the 99cents store its like hit and miss

:< I used to eat at cariolina and MY GOD DID I WANT TO HURL

Stockton has better stuff. hahaa I ate at the one in manteca and really it was gross

omg taqueria carolina is sooooo good.
i was told by a health inspector not to eat there, but god. its soooo gooooood.

la costa grosses me out. im not big on flies and hotdog stand style mexican food. but thats probably just me.

I live in Seattle so of coarse there aren't as many authentic Mexican places around here.

The few that do exist though, damn are they good, and cheap! I especially love how the authentic ones sell Mexican Coke. I like it much better than regular coke, it's not as sweet.

Anyway, something that grinds my gears; people who complain EXTENSIVLEY about finals./school in general.
Yes, they can be stressful (  even then I think most make it a much bigger deal than it is) and some complaining is perfectly acceptable.

Then there are some, who just bitch and bitch, rather vehemently  as if they think  'how DARE I have to put forth to pass a class"

For the longest time I REALLY wanted to goto school and was pretty envious of those who already were. Now that I am in school I'm just as annoyed by people bitch like that.
It's a PRIVLAGE if your such a lay little fuck that you would rather just mooch off of your parents for the rest of your life then get out of collage so the money can go towards someone who WANTS to be there.

I don't know if I really want to go to collage, its not that I don't like it, its just that I don't know what I want to do with my life after High School.

Alot of people don't, and people go to college in order to find that out, it's normal what you are feeling.

Well, if you lack life ambitions, you can always ask yourself how much money you'd want to live off of yearly in about, say, five or six years. If it's more than 20k/yr, get a degree. There's always a need for another accountant somewhere.
