This is the second time I've seen this happen (first time I didn't think to grab a screenshot). A friend of mine was on the waitlist for the Hilton as well, and despite the site saying that they're available right now, she hadn't received a reservation change~ D:

I saw that Marriott was available a few minutes ago for the days AND the type of room that I had on waitlist but my waitlist wasnt fulfilled. I checked now and the room isn't available now. I guess waitlisting isn't reliable.

Any news about waitlist fulfillments yet? I see Fairfield Inn, Holiday Inn, and SpringHill rooms are available. Not sure if that means the people there cancelled their rooms or got transfered to other hotels.

This is honestly really upsetting. Today is the drop cut off.

I think you're fine in being upset. I would be, too. I wouldn't give up hope entirely, though. I know people canceled their room right at the deadline, which means that CMR was probably processing all those cancel requests on Friday. I'd expect next week (starting Monday) that they'd be working to get those newly-opened rooms out to those on the waitlist. I'm hoping that that's the case for you. I hate to see Fanime veterans in situations like this.

Is your waitlist request for multiple nearby hotels rather than just the connected ones? I think that would help your chances, but if you don't have them already added, I'd call them to make sure that adding new hotels would not push you to the bottom of the list.

I actually wasn't even thinking about it taking more time to process empty rooms for waitlisters. Thanks for mentioning that, now I still feel like there's some hope left. It does make sense because thats alot of moving around to do, like someone from Hyatt/Fairmont/Westin into Hilton/Marriott and then that Hyatt/Fairmont/Westin spot becomes available for the ones who already have the far away hotels like DoubleTree.
Honestly I already have Fairmont but I'm on the waitlist for Ramada, Hilton, and Marriott. My priority window was Feb 25th at 12pm when it was just Fairmont left and another hotel (I forgot which one) but all I wanted was Ramada because of price. I'm hoping at least some Hilton or Marriott rooms become available and I move to one of them and my Fairmont spot becomes available after I move for those who need that one. I have a feeling everyone who has Ramada won't be giving up those rooms.
If it fails, I'm still okay with Fairmont but I was just aiming to get even closer to the con or my favorite hotel Ramada.

If the gathering doesn't interfere with my other plans, I'll go as Takeru Tenkuji from Kamen Rider Ghost.

I will plan to borrow my friend's KyoyruRed/DinoChargeRed suit for the gathering.

If my cosplay arrives on time, I will plan to cosplay Dark Pit.

Depending on what time the Gaim gathering is, most of us in our Kyoryuger group might be late because we're doing a group photoshoot right after the toku gathering.

I'm sure if you cosplayed Zach to the Gaim gathering our Kaito would love it, aha. Really, the set isn't coming out for that long?? You'd think they'd try to get them on the shelves right away since it's already shown up in the show...

According to ShukuenShinobi's list, Lockseed Candy Set 06 has Kurumi (Walnut) Lockseed and should be out this week. Keep an eye out for that. Yeah the Knuckle Faceplate wont be out til after Fanime but at least you'll have the Lockseed in your hands.

Also I have nothing to do with these posters so if any of you want one, feel free to take one home after the gathering! First come first serve. :)

I was thinking we can (temporarily some on the walls like we're setting up and taking the stage). They don't even have to be in color if it costs a lot.

And yes, good point. :O I'm guessing the gathering will last for a good hour, at least(maybe hour and a half). 3:30 or 4pm should be fine, though, for the Gaim gathering.

I'm leaning more on the 4pm side atm but I know people are still waiting on confirmation for hotel rooms... x__x I'm still waiting to see if I'll be at Fairmont/Hilton or Doubletree myself.

Yeah I'm down for either time but I think 4pm is good because I still wanna be cosplaying as Daigo with the Kyoryuger group for about an hour or 2 after the toku gathering.
Also hakurei, are you still planning on cosplaying Miichy? My friend in my Kyoryuger, who was planning to be Miichy, isn't able to cosplay Miichy anymore and I want a Miichy, along with Mai (and also Rica, Rat, and Chucky if there are any) with me to represent Team Gaim.
Also are we still down for making posters (8x11 are good enough) for our Teams? We needa own the stage!

I really wish Fanime put up their schedules earlier because it would make it way easier to plan. orz I'm thinking 11-12ish for the main gathering and 3-4pm for the Gaim meetup so that we have no chance of clashing with any evening events, but let me know what you guys think!

I'm not completely sure about how this works but I think u have to submit the gatherings, locations, and times to whoever manages the schedules for all the gatherings. it's best to call dibs on the time and location slots before other gatherings claim it.

Just remembered, there's a place called Hydration. It's on 3rd street, right after McDonalds.

hakurei you also mentioned about going out for some boba or something after the Gaim meet up. You still down for it? Anyone know any good places with drinks/smoothies/boba nearby?

I went to check out the renovated con center on Sunday and the new front plaza looks amaaazing. Lots of stairs and concrete everywhere and it's pretty much perfect for a toku setting. It actually looks really nice for the Gaim meetup too! I was talking to RedGxHenshin about it this weekend and he suggested that we make posters for all the teams and post them on the walls for photos so I can look into local print shops to get that done too~

On a side note, I believe I have met some of the Toku folks here at Japan Expo. See you guys at the gathering!

Were you cosplaying Shotaro at JX?

I'll be in the area on Sunday so I'll try to scout out some neat areas to meet up at! The new front plaza looks really great from photos I've seen though. I put the day down as Saturday for now and I'll put up a poll for times once we get some scheduling info up for the con and people start planning.

I can drag along a photographer for the Gaim mini meetup! A few hours after the big gathering sounds good, that gives everyone time to take a break and change if they're not in their Gaim costumes already. I'll try to scrape out a Micchy or a Mai costume for that too! (CherryGeri, are you doing normal Mai or weird blonde hair future Mai? We should take photos together!)

Yeah it will be awesome to have a Gaim meet up sometime that weekend. Some of us in the Kyoryuger Group have Gaim cosplays planned as well. Of course we can't do Gaim for the toku gathering because the group is doing Kyoruger but I wanna do the Gaim group sometime during Fanime. I'm actually getting Kouta's jacket pretty soon so I'll have Kouta ready by then when we have our Gaim meet up.

If I can make it to this gathering, I'll be Ravio from A Link Between Worlds.

I'll be going as Daigo Kiryu from Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger. Same as last year's with the group. Like Geri said, we have all 10 Kyoryugers now.
