Have the pictures been posted? I can't seem to find them. :(

Any update on Date/Time? I see some groups have already made the list. :)

Depending on the Time/Date,

I'll either be Rainbow Quartz,

or My BF and I will be the Big Buff Cheeto Puff and Pink Diamond!

Hope to see you there!

You would be surprised what some people would be interested in taking off of your hands!

For full cosplay/props that are in decent condition, try a "Swap Meet" or maybe sell them through ETSY?
I sold a lot of my old cosplay outfits at Anime Swap Meets. I know Fanime has one as well. Its like a huge yard sale where anyone can sell (as long as you fill out paperwork and purchase a spot).

Another option is cosplay costume sales groups on Facebook. There are quite a few, so try taking a look there.

And for the stuff that can't possibly be re-used: a much needed trip to the dump. I made a large motorcycle like prop that was about 6ft long, and after a while, it just had to go. I left it on the street for the once a year dump cleanup.

But those are all just some options.
I Hope it helped!

I'm not sure how styled this is, but it also depends on your price point.
This one is $57.

I'm still figuring out my cosplay lineup, but if all goes well, I'll be Shaina from Saint Seiya. It was a 1980s-1990s manga/anime. Hope to see you there!

I'll be going as Neo Queen Serenity this year. I'm hoping the Steven Universe and Sailor Moon meetups are on different days. I'm also debuting my Pink Diamond and my Bf's Jasper cosplay that weekend.

Heres a link to my latest instagram image (because I don't know how to add a picture in the forums XD)

I haven't gotten a reply yet either. Its a little concerning, but if worse comes to worse, we register at the convention.

I'm also concerned about the "grey area" of the masquerade. I have a few video game characters, 2/3 are of Asian descent, the other is american. But since they're altogether in one skit, I think It'll be fine. Any Thoughts?

We're completely just ignoring the rule and doing Assassin's Creed since everything under the sun was allowed last year. I think you're fine though, you have some asian stuff and that seems to be all the rule cares about which I still think is kinda dumb
All Will Be Well.... I hope

I think it would be a great idea. I remember you mentioning it last year for a bit.

Yay, theater fun! I just got back into it; I had almost forgotten how much I love being on stage and performing.  It does have me thinking more about what I want to see in a successful rehearsal and show though, in addition to the "this is what makes it easier for me as a cosplayer."

On a related note, I have decided to drop masquerade. I said two years ago after that fiasco that Fanime masq was going to need to greatly improve communication and operations in general if I was going to put up with it, and I just admitted to myself that I have not reached that level of satisfaction.  Things like cash prizes and cool projection systems (which we haven't had confirmed yet, and is likely too late for any of us to take advantage of it) don't solve the underlying organizational issues, at least for me personally.

*Shrugs* Means I will have more time to focus on karaoke anyway. Maybe I will do well enough in that to still be in masquerade, but that's a longshot, lol.  I do plan on wearing my masquerade costume for the karaoke contest now, because why not (also, it's thematic with my song choices).

Good luck everyone! I sincerely do hope all goes well for you all! I do plan on watching masquerade, so I will hopefully see you all there.  :-)
Good Luck with your Karaoke! I really enjoy when the singers are cosplaying while singing. It gives a whole new feel to it. :D

Ok, so, in my skit group, there's one person that's under 18, and her parent/legal guardian cannot be present at the con. How do we go about getting her waiver filled out?

The form must be filled out by the parent/legal guardian, signed and brought with them(the member of your crew) to the masquerade table at the convention.
Are we able to print out these forms or do we get them at the convention? It's been a couple years since I've done Fanime Masquerade, so I may have forgotten this information.
The forms usually go up on the site around a week or two before the con. You can print them out and bring them. I print it out and have my mom sign this for my brother because he's still under 18, and its been like that the past few years.

Our group is looking forward to competing this year!

I thought I had missed it as well, Glad to know it hasn't started yet. Well... kind of glad. I hope all goes well. I heard some of the other parts of fanime were having trouble with organizing. Hopefully everything works out in the end.  :3

Hello Everyone!

Welcome back for another wonderful con, let's get excited everyone! This thread is dedicated to anyone and everyone who has anything to do (or is even remotely interested in) the Fanime Cosplay-Spectacular-Masquerade-Whatever-It's-Called-Now event!

     Here we can talk about:

-The themes of the con this year
-What we can expect
-What characters we're thinking about doing
-Any skits we've loved in the past
-Things that we're working on
-The categories we're entering
-The general themes of our skits
-And those of us who have been in this event in the past can feel free to help some of the newbies!

I'm sure this year will be great!
