Really? They've been doing it the last TWO YEARS I've been at Fanime and the company sold NEW manga last year.
Well their titles are still being produced...under a different company. Not to mention they went out of business in '05 and they were still doing it last year in '06 so...it looks like they might have it again this year.
Whatever the case, truth is that Monday is the best day for sales.
This is usually when I pick up my wall scrolls in bulk too because they have a 3 for 25 deal most of the time, or at least a 2 for 20.
The only things I buy right away are things like collectors items that'll go real fast if I don't pick them up first. Nice figure sets, soundtracks, etc.
Everything else, including manga, can wait until Sunday or monday.
According to the ASOS video, the American Haruhi DVD release would be the same weekend as Fanime. If it's available, that's the only thing I'll buy at FC this year.
Let me know if you find any. I'll want to buy some Haruhi dvds, too.

Kare Kano has 21 Volumes.
If you buy it at normal Borders prices, you'll be paying about 10 bucks over $200. Sometimes at anime cons you can get them cheaper, so she might actually make under $200.
And sometimes when you buy in bulk they give you a discount too. First 10 books= 5 dollars off, next 5 books equals another 5 off, final five books equals 10 dollars off.
Something like that maybe.

Now that AnimePalace is in the bay area, and I go to Kinokuniya regularly (and once in a while I order a bunch of stuff from Amazon Japan), I tend to get my fill of anime merchandise and whatnot throughout the year rather than all at once. One of the few things I'll be actively looking for in the Dealers Room is a BL ArtBook. Not a specific series though which people don't usually seem to understand. I just remember a couple years ago buying one and it was titled Tsubasa. It wasn't work from CLAMP though and it wasn't any of their characters. A little confused on that bit, but whatever. So anywho, I'm mostly just looking for pretty art, whether in the Dealers Room or Artist Alley ^_^
What will I buy? depends on what goodies "VideoGamesNewYork" brings. :D But I'm hopeing to catch up on some DVD's and Manga I need.

I didn't know I could get them at conventions though... ), maybe a gloomy bear plushie or two, a hide plushie (if they have them, I know ACen does so I'm pretty sure Fanime should too... granted it's my first convention so I don't really know what exactly there is yet), and some new anime figures for my so-far horrendously small collection.
Then random other stuff depending on how much spending money I actually do have... we'll see.

That'd be great if someone set up a little smoked meat stand at the swap meet. "We've got you sausages here, salami, haggis, bacon, you name it!"
