I'll be wandering around as Ashura from RG Veda. Hopefully I'll make it by!

My only suggestion, while it was nice having people brought backstage who won, we could not hear AT ALL when we were back there. When an award was announced whoever was in front had better have been paying attention otherwise no one really knew who was supposed to go out there. Plus when we were announced we didn't have a clue what we won because we didn't hear a single word said. I think we would have rather had to have gotten out of our seats to go on stage to accept it. Just an idea because honestly, we didn't hear a single word. I think thats the only complaint we had.
We loved the masq. It was so well run, we always knew what was happening, I really liked having the masq headquarters so if we had a question we knew where to go and there would be someone there to answer it.
And great job announcing it Brian. I liked this year the best! ^_^ You always kept the audience entertained :)
But honestly, great job to all those that made it run so smoothly and to the judges for being so quick to decide the winners! ^_^

Yea, shorter is usually better....it has to capture and keep the audiences attention and keep them entertained which is a hard thing to do for two or three whole minutes.

I have to whole heartedly agree with the 'not everyone is going to know your series'. For the most part I was fine at the masq because I've been into anime for so long however the friends I sat with are big anime fans but seriously only got about 40% of the skits if that. Plan your skit and then look over it and say to yourself 'if I didn't know this anime, would I still be able to understand the skit? Would it entertain someone who didn't know the anime?'
That is VERY important to making a good skit.

Yea and I wouldn't use microphones. Fanime should ban them like so many other cons have and just have contestants use pre-recorded sound.

It's a touchy subject. There's never going to be a con where all the skits are 'perfect'. Everyone has different tastes and will like different things. When it comes to writing a skit, I bet you a lot of the 'not so entertaining' skits looked really good to the people who preformed them.
It's just really hard to say. I think setting a time limit of around 2 minutes would be best because some of the best skits are the short and sweet ones. Also maybe some suggestions can be posted when the masquerade sign-ups begin to help those that might need it?
Otherwise, like someone said, you take the good with the bad. It happens all the time. It takes a lot of guts to get up there in the first place, let the people have their 2 minutes. I personally thought the masquerade was fine but thats just me.

Now that it's getting closer, looks like our Fruits Basket cosplay wont be making it to Fanime.
We just have too much planned for the days and so we had to drop something.
Sorry.

So yea...have the completed Yuki (wore to to Yaoi con and AD) and am in the process of making a momiji. So I'll probably have a friend wear Yuki and then wear my Momiji.
