My first two years were when Fanime was still in Santa Clara.
This will be my 4th year on staff. (holy crap) Course, some people on staff have been around for much longer.
This will be my tenth year. I missed Fanime 99 though.

actually, i stayed at the Ramada on 2nd, it was less than 2 blocks away, very clean and only 80 something each night. thats why this year i'm gonna talk to some friends about bunking together.

This is my first year going, and also my first convention. I'm from Chicago but the fact that Acen isn't what I want it to be this year at all... and An Cafe already has Fanime down as performing on their live schedule on their official website, I just can't pass up this convention. It seems like there's so much more to do at Fanime than there is to do at Acen from what I heard from my friends who went last year, so it just seems like a better choice.
I hope I'll have fun with my best friend when we're out there. =)

This will be my 2nd time at Fanime. The last time I came was in 2005. In 2006, my car's transmission broke so I couldn't come. In 2007, I was in a car wreck a few weeks before the con and spent a few weeks nursing a sore back. I had a wonderful time in 2005 and can't wait to come back. There have been a lot of nice changes since I visited last time.
This will be my fourth year! It's turned into a birthday tradition since I never get around to having parties.

Yeah same here. I usually go with my best friend but a bunch of my friends down in Davis are goin too so that should be cool.

There is a difference in anniversary counting and actual cons attended. Example: 1st anniversary = 2nd con

In both terms, it'll be my 9th FanimeCon in a row which makes it my 8th anniversary.
I remember when F2K was in February, so which means the actual anniversary is in a few days. It's also my 10th anniversary of being in to anime in the first place.

i remember the first time I came to fanime is 2006 and it was much quieter than 2007.
it seems there was a boost on 2007. I dont know why.
This will be my 5th year attending Fanime. My first was the last year they had it at the Santa Clara convention center. I actually liked the way it was set up there a lot more, then again, it might because it was my first con and I just thought it was nifty.
Let's just say over the years, I've gained lots of experience and things to avoid. The main one being, don't fight with your friends. My first con, a friend and I got into a huge fight, it being her fault mind you and she admits it now, and I didn't talk to her for about 6-7 months afterwards.
But anyways, bad memories aside, I'm hoping this Fanime will be just as, if not more awesome, than last year.
