Panels and Workshops / Re: Comedy Club at Fanime 2009!

A two hour event with twice the comics is a bad idea.

We had a hard enough time fitting as many comics as we had into one hour - DOUBLING the event should only make it worse.

Say the first hour of comics goes beyond the one-hour mark. Doesn't that suck even more for the remaining ones, having to scrunch their time even more?

I'd suggest that if you want to have twice the amount of comics, bill it as two separate events. You could even try to have something small, like an hour break, between them. That means that people get relatively equal time, and those who went to the first hour will probably come back for the second, seeing as it's soon after.

All this, or you TOTALLY enforce time limits for the performers.

Quote from: "alkaline"I assure you it'll be much more interesting than a wannabe novelist going out of his way to act like a douche over something he doesn't really understand.
This reply makes my head hurt so goddamn much.

Yep! I do all of my design work in Flash, including my comics and animations. Glad you liked it.

Panels and Workshops / Calling all webcomic authors!

I was on the panel in 2005 and I'd be interested in going on again. I haven't had a normally running webcomic since late 2005, but I'm part of the community - I chill with the gang from the defunct Bagofchips (RPG World, Stubble, Skirting Danger, Fox and Apple, etc.)

My most prominent comic can be seen here:

In 2005 I answered a lot of questions about how to start, where to host, tools of the trade, and other tips. I was also trying to start a general webcomics panel in 2006, but I think there was one specifically for one comic; I forget which. Tell me what you think.

edit: Ah yeah, I've done an animation last year, too, and over last summer did an animation series for UthTV.

I feel as if I'm "applying" for something, so anything else I've done can be found here:

Panels and Workshops / No webcomics panel?
May 13, 2006, 09:31:04 AM
I'm surprised! I thought that there'd still be an interest this year in having a webcomics panel. After all, Fred Gallagher was at Fanime only two years ago. Last year's wasn't too grand but I still think it was pretty fun.

Was anyone else looking forward to that besides me? :P
