I see that you are in need of some help... In the past, I've attempted to host other gatherings, although more often than not, I've parted ways from doing it long before Fanime has happened. However, I have an awesome friend who is willing to help me do it this year, so if you'll have us, we'd be more than willing to help! We've been doing Hetalia gatherings since 2009, so we know our stuff pretty well.

Regardless of whether anyone is interested in our offer, count me in as [probably] America, and my friend as Prussia. I may or may not be able to convince my troupe to come along as Russia, France, Chibitalia, and Belarus, depending on if they feel like being social for the convention :3

So, for the date and time, I was thinking of Sunday, either before or during the Black and White Ball. Maybe even after. And how about the Fairmont for the place?

Pros: Very nice and spacious hotel rooms. There was enough room for approximately 10 of my friends to chill during the day, and there was more than enough room for 3 of us to sleep during the night. The bathroom was very lovely, and the vanity mirror came in handy for wig styling and con-prep. The hotel staff were very nice and accommodating, and even let my mum check in when she was still travelling to the convention. Overall, it was a very nice stay; better than last year, I might say.
Cons: There are only three big things that stand out. One is that we asked for two rooms next to each other, and we got them in completely different halls. I'm glad they were on the same floor, but they even told us they were a room apart. Another is the fact that room service was slow Saturday morning and it made us late to the convention by almost an hour. The third and final problem is that the hallways smelled like marijuana. Again. I have friends who stayed on the same floor last year, and the same hallways, same rooms, same floor, smelled of weed. It was not fun.
Special Notes to Share: I liked having most of the shops on the street behind us. It was definitely helpful to have Johnny Rocket's, Subway, Walgreen's, and Ross not too far away.

So the gathering last year kind-of sort-of didn't really happen as planned. And it appears, at least from the previous thread, that the organizer will not be returning to Fanime this year, sadly. So, I've taken it upon myself to organize the gathering this year, so at least my friends and I will have fun with it.

Fanime will be taking group pictures during the Gathering/Event this year. If you do not want to be included in those pictures please step aside for those photos. By remaining with the group when the pictures are being taken you give your consent to be photographed.

My group of friends and I are planning on getting a room for next year. At the best non-con rate, it would be 200$ a night for 4 nights, which is expensive. So what were the rates for during the convention? We were looking at the Fairmont, but whichever is the cheapest and the best deal would work.

I think I speak for a lot of people when I say please don't put the main events at the same time! I have a great deal of friends who are disappointed that they cannot attend both the masquerade and the Black and White Ball. I know that the staff works very hard to come up with the schedules each year, and I greatly appreciate their work, but this is a major issue.

I thought it would be best to ask here, but I can delete this if needed. Are there any Prussias or Hungarys going to the Black and White Ball? I'm going to be Austria, and I don't want to be alone with no one to dance with...

I think I'm actually going to be Japan for this. His yukata, not his military uniform (Unless I can somehow get that done in time or borrow it from a certain lovely...)

I avoided the Hetalia meet-up this year, mostly because it was much too big and I came in the middle of things. I did stay around and take pictures though, but mostly because I had a good many friends in the gathering. However, I think that I'll go this year if I can remember when it is. ^^"

Not sure who I'll be. Maybe Russia, or possible North Italy. I really don't know at all. But I know I have friends who will go as a majority of the characters.

Shokora - Didn't expect to find you on here, but I agree that you should make a Cosplay.com post. It'll be easier for a load of people who don't want to bother with making an account on here.

I am interested in joining staff, or becoming a volunteer. However, none of the links to the information about them seem to be working. Are there alternative links, or what?

Also, I'm under 18, which eliminates a lot of positions for me. Could anyone tell me which if any departments would take me? I've only seen recent posts about two different departments, but the first I cannot join, and while I am interested in the other, I want to know if there are any other things I could do.
