Like they either ran out or never had.
I wish they had a Gelgoog Marine models, now I have to wait longer to get one.
Also more Gundam Universal Century stuff.
Needed moar Gurren Lagann merchandise.
.....and the Gaia booth was missed.
More Dealers... they could expand it larger, some dealer spots were cramped.
Definetely bring back the gaia booth. Also I didn't see a rooster teeth booth either, and I also wanted to find the very ugly chinese Saber figure, known as Sader.
I really wish there had been more d gray man stuff :(
There were a few things, but it was a scavenger hunt to find them
no one had death notes this year. *sadface*
ragnarok Online Poring mouse
=( not worth 100 dollars plz
This...I looked through every freakin' dealer multiple times to find this, but I didn't :( (http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10065495)

I think I saw one of those, at the booth and the far right from where you enter.
Oh I also wished they had more Hellsing Merch, I WANT A HELLSING PATCH!!!!
I talked with one of the dealers and said that Hellsing is not as popular anymore. He also gave Naruto and Bleach like another 2-3 years.
More music. Prefferably Amano Tsukiko, JiLL-Decoy association, or Paris Match. Unlikely, but I did find an Amano album one year, so I can dream, right?
There was this stuffed animal mario star that I saw online, and I really wanted one to go with my mario cube...but they sold out....D:
I was hoping for some Kingdom Hearts plushies, but I didn't see any :-[
Also An Cafe shirts, but I didn't knew what they looked like, so I didn't find any before they sold out T^T
And wished they had more CDs on visual kei groups (GazettE, LM.C, etc) Though I did saw a place selling CDs, but either didn't had any or sold out :-\

Ojamajo doremi stuff. I got a figure and a shajiki but More would have been niced but its kinda not popular so ohhhh well.
Cell phone charms = <333
And by that, I don't mean a laminated picture of a character made into a charm, I wanted to see something more decorational. ^^

Rawr. I wanted more Hellsing merchandise as well! If they only sold only merchandise from the most popular series, I wouldn't even be at an anime convention. >>
I don't know I was surprized to find a lot of Gundam stuff, though it may be the fact that Gundam is more popular in Japan than here. I wish it wasn't so but it's true.
ACTUAL LOLITA BRANDS like Baby the stars shine bright, Metamorphose, Angelic Pretty!!! I saw american brands but most were either not my tastes or pure fail
Hell Get MARUIONE This year

Agreed. I was looking for a new one since my phone charm my friend made me broke; I'd saw some promo Code Geass charms on eBay, where they had a metal-looking charm of the Geass symbol and I'd hoped that I could find it around, but... no dice. :(
Moar seiyuu/anisong stuff. Please. And play something other than UNDER17.
Comiket exclusive merchandise would be a hot seller among some otaku.
need more.. nge shirts!

EXACTLY what I was thinking. There was one this year at the very back that looked ok, but their prices were pretty much the same with brand :/
How about more dealers. AA is almost a rival when it comes to size.
Kamen Rider DX Belts...
More music!
I only found one dealer booth through my venture (that wasn't exclusively J-rock or something), and absolutely [no] selection.
At least, for what I was looking for.
I ended up spending most my money on cool FF figurines.
I always choose an anime I really like, and dedicate myself to finding merchandise for it.

seriously!
Well if Fanime gets MaruiOne items wont be so overpriced like most vendors or bootlegged =\
And Quality items, that one vender towards the back had some good stuff but yes it was exepensive but probally less compared to brand name clothes. Most US sellers sell their items lesser than the JP brands
I agree Rooster Teeth would be AWESOME to have XD They're great!
It would be nice to get more dealers in general. The one thing that stood out in my mind was that most of the dealers had the same stuff as 2 or 3 more other booths.
It'd be cool to get more video game dealers, and more Star Wars stuff (especially if we do the 2009 SW gathering XD ), but I'd also like to see a J-List booth if we could get them (they're a HUGE dealer in Japanese goods and whatnot). I think that would be really successful at Fanime.

If I remember, that booth had dresses for $200+. I would say that compares to brand prices.
I agree with actual lolita brands, since so many cons are bringing out brands now, and Fanime seems to have a pretty strong and still growing loli scene.
We also need better music options. Not everyone wants the same VK and pop and anime OSTs as we can find every year. D:
Cosworx. I needed boots and they were't there
I would really like to see a dealer with a larger selection of Jun Planning dolls (Pullip, Taeyang, Dal, etc). One seller had a couple, but they were older ones.
Valley of the Dolls is based in SoCal, it wouldn't be too hard for them to drive up for the weekend and set up a booth.

From my experience, music is one of the most costly items you would find in the dealers room. An AKFG CD for example, went for $50 a few years back.
Busou Shinki. I wish they had that.
Also, snacks/drinks that aren't horridly over-priced. They sell ramune for close to $4 a bottle at fanime. At an asian market near my house, they sell it for about 69 cents a bottle.

Food is typically a little more pricey at cons because of location (like food at baseball games, beer at concerts, etc), it sucks, but it's the law of "supply and demand".
With stuff like ramune and whatnot, it's going to be cheaper at Asian markets because they get it in bigger bulks (not to mention in business with delivery locations, they sometimes get discounts on the shipment costs depending on how much they order).
Dealers usually bring all their stuff by their own means, so they're essentially paying for the "shipment" (gas money, etc) and they pay to rent out the tables there as well, so they usually add to the price to make up for these costs.
But they could have some cheaper alternatives (like doritos and whatnot) to sell to those of us who are just plain hungry and not Pocky partisan.

I love coco Kitties >w<
I wish they had more Hitman Reborn merchandise Dx
If someone had like...an Ayanami Rei body pillow...that would be fantastic!

I liked finding the old Final Fantasy PSone games there, though. I bought myself Final Fantasy VIII, which was the only one I didn't have. XD

Neeeeeed!
Katekyo Hitman REBORN! stuff. In fact, Shonen Jump stuff in general.
More Gundam Wing stuff in general. DX (Hehe, it sucks that they don't even give it it's own section in the doujinshi booths anymore. All the ones I found last year were in the "Misc. Anime" section. XD;; Oh well, at least I FOUND some at all. Haaah.)

At the last possible minute they decided to add a panel, but yeah i missed he Gaia booth there too last year. Dont think they the intention of coming around to Fanime then. It wasn't on their con schedule and a lot of people were getting upset that they werent going to drop by. Think all the complaints got to them ^_^ so they at least came by doing a panel.
Last year came I across some U.C. Gundam plushies I wished they had a Zaku plushie but all they had was a Guncannon, a Ball, and a Char's Z'Gok. I liked the Z'Gok but the claws were all bent every which way and that would bug me.
Actual imports (by sellers themselves) rather than stuff that AAA license and distribute...-_-;
Im thinking of buying some soundtracks
Gurren Lagann wallscrolls/figures
Some DVDs or bluerays

Can someone please have the Axis Powers Hetalia figurines? Pleeeeease? ::hopes::
I really don't want to have to fight websites I can't read for them! (and I've tried to learn, but I seem to be mostly incapable of learning languages...)
A Link plushie :'(
not Toon Link
Yu Yu Hakusho items, um...DnAngel items as well, and...W Juliet perhaps? XDDD
I love those series. ;_____;
I would just like to see more variety. It seems like I saw the same figures, t-shirts, poster etc. everywhere I went last year. There where some booths that had different stuff, but probably 5 or 6 booths that were just clones of each other.
Oh yeah and I really hope the corset guy is back this year, my sister REALLY wants to buy one.

a kotobukiya booth would be AWESOME. i love their one coin figurines but the only chance i have at getting them is when they're at japantowne, and by the time i get there, its too late! :'(
but the thing is that.. i know kotobukiya only sells their products to retailers. which brings up 2 questions that i have.
1) do those one coin figurines ever get discontinued? (some websites say that they do not have it in stock/or it says "discountined" - does this mean they just haven't ordered anymore from kotobukiya's main site? or is it really discontinued from the time it was released? do they have reshipments and redisturbutions of one coin figurines occasionally? i kinda feel like they do with the tales series (abyss, symphonia)
and 2) how do we go about asking retailers (that show up at cons, in person and through websites) that we would like them to order this particular series/set? i know some websites have request kind of links where we can ask them to order, but even if it says on the website that its "discontinued?" what does "discontinued" actually mean and how does a figurine go to "discontinued forever" history?
sorrie if my questions are confusing. i have alot of questions about this whole figurine retail market and im not sure wheres the best place for this thread to be.

This.
I'm tried of seeing the same merch over and over. I'm also tired of mostly seeing merch for the most popular anime out there. I want variety! I want things that aren't as well known/liked!
I've said this before, but I also like more practical items rather than figurines and such... And I would love to see more music/a better selection of music. Just the most popular artists, anime soundtracks, and various viskei/whatever that has evoled into is not nearly enough! A lot of that stuff is really marked up anyway, but sometimes you can get really good stuff for just around or under the going rate (Amano Tsukiko's Tenryu album for ~$35? I couldn't get it for that online once I factored in shipping! I just ordered ZERO, and it cost me over $40, so that's a pretty good deal, and a hint to any sellers, I still don't have A MOON CHILD IN THE SKY... ;D I'll be on the lookout), and that's what I'm looking for.
I also want more booths with really cutesy stuff. Wizzywig has a monopoly on that, I'd say, and if there was another booth like it, then I probably wouldn't have to spend as much money to get my cute stuff fix, and would have a better selection. I know, Sanrio stuff is expensive, but still...
Also, more/better loli clothes, preferably brand, even if I won't be able to afford it, please. <3
Shugo Chara merchandise. Also, Japanese language manga, like they used to carry a few years ago. I can get English language manga at Barnes and Noble for cying out loud.
I would love to see more figurines other than scantily clad pedo-bait schoolgirls. More magical girl figures, and cute boys! Also, more variety in figurines. Often times, I will buy it if it looks cool and beautiful, regardless if whether I know of the series or not.
Kuroshitsuji merchandise!
Costumes/cosplay and costume accessories.
AFFORDABLE lolita garments.
Um...anime style "Real Dolls?"
moar hellsing!
to all the gaia want peoples. last year there was a mistake in their registration for a booth space and they got tables in artist alley, they were by the far right wall, last row, two tables in from the door, they were right next to a couple people i know who were selling longcat scarves. lanzer even gave one of them a cheezburger.
It would be nice if they had some competitive gaming accessories, such as <shameless plug>Electric Trouble Joysticks.</shameless Plug>
BJ, where you at? ;)
Here's what I'm hoping to find at Fanime this year:
Dakimakura
Japanese anime magazines like CompAce and Comptiq, possibly some jp Newtypes since they rock (don't care if they are older or outdated I'll still buy the heck out of 'em.)
Lots of Figma and Revoltech
GOOD SMILE COMPANY GOODS!!!! (LOVE Good Smile, and they'll most likely have GSC goods anyways) and if you didn't know, GSC specializes in Nendoroids, Figma, and the like...
Possibly some Japanese Import Games? *cough*Cross of Venus sp pack*cough*
Some character song CD's
Mouse Pads! XD
Art Books
and of course, POSTERS!
I'm going to be looking for some more practical and unique items this year. I've got a bad habit of buying loads of figures and nothing else...LOL. *cough*toyslogicIloveyou*cough. Practical Items include things like Collectibles such as character goods, things like character song cd's, dakimakura, sheets, mouse pads, art books, maybe some replicas...Man! I can't wait to hit that dealer's hall!!!!!
Really Good Sake - Straight from Japan. ;D
oh wait, i could get that in japan town...
Pokemon plushies!!!
Hetalia figurines
Okami Merchandice. (Not much, but I know there is some!)
Moar Hellsing figurines. And not the old ones everyone already has D:
Gaia Booth in the Dealers room
More Lolita items, not just Lokisa stuff
Evangelion stuff
Code Geass (Cornelia figurine!)
Hopefully better deals on Copics. (I payed more than I pay for them up in Japan Town San Fransisco. D: )
Moar Moar Moar
C:
more gothic type stuff
anything BLACK!!
and visual kei anything ;D
Good Discounts.
~Chun
I've been going to Fanime since 06, and I have to say, almost all of the money I've spent at the con has been at either the swap meet or the arcade.
Seriously, the dealers room has always been the low point of Fanime for me. I usually don't find anything of interest and on the rare occasion I do find something it's outrageously expensive. I know Naruto headbands sell, but does every single dealer have to sell almost exclusively headbands and figurines and trinkets? I rarely ever see any artbooks (of interest) or rare video games/video game accessories. Most of the stuff I find in the dealers room is stuff you can quite frankly find anywhere online, and usually for a lot less than what they're charging.
The only suggestion I can really offer is to just make better choices on what dealers show up. I'd personally love to have some classic import game booth selling rare PC Engine/Mega Drive/Famicom games.
Oh, and, something else you may want to tell the dealers to bring; arcade sticks. SF4 and BlazBlue are both in high demand and most people getting those games are going to want sticks to play them on.
I would like more affordable Lolita gear.
I want more Momoi/Under 17 merchandise, other then that 2003 concert DVD, back when Momoi Halko was in the band Under 17.
I want more Ayanami Rei merchandise.
A button/pin thing for Yoko's skull.
A cheaper Kallen figure, 60 BUCKS!? No thanks.
Different Totoro plushies. Or I mean, variety.
More Slayers and Fushigi Yuugi stuff... haha. I can wish. (:
More Kamen Rider merchandise(specifically, the Heisei-era Rider belts). Period.
There were no 1/100 Dynames or Kyrios kits this year. What gives man?
Dealer's hall was a lot of fun, but I only bought three Kuroshitsuji/Black Butler figures and a pencil board. I didn't see too much that I really wanted.
I really enjoyed the doll booth (even if it was pretty expensive), and the booth that sold the anime licensed jewelry and accessories, along with the lolita booths.
I would love to see:
~More male figures, like I said before in a previous post before the con. I need my bishi fix!
~Other cute Japanese items - not necessarily anime related. I love the miniature sets that come in the fortune boxes and anything cutesy! Like http://www.re-mentusa.com/index.php (http://www.re-mentusa.com/index.php), the Re-Ment miniatures. They can be quite collectible!
~More practical items? Office/school accessories, etc.
~Art supplies - Sakura, Copic, Niko-Piko etc.
I wished they had more Import games this year. Ohh well maybe next year.
I wish the Dealers Room could Import from Japan. I have been looking very hard for obscure and not common Anime items not found in domestic anime stores. Toradora for Example. I hate to say this but why is it back in early 2000 I had an easy time looking for Imported Anime items compared to today?
Are all Anime Dealers selling stuff in USA Anime Conventions afraid to Import because they think they cannot make a profit to the niche die hard Anime fan in making a sale compared to the mainstream Anime fan that will buy anime stuff based from Anime licensed in America? I miss those days when it was very easy to find dealers that Import from Japan. Now a days after Anime has gotten popular, dealers somehow do not care about Importing Anime Goods from Japan and would rather make a quick dollar/profit from whatever popular Anime that is airing in America.
I second the Hetalia figurines. Why are they so hard to find? D: (and so very expensive once you find them!)
Also seconding the Nendoroid - been searching for a Kaito for a while.
Gaia => dealers' room. Definitely.
Manga that hasn't been licensed in the US yet like Hetalia, Chrome Shelled Regios, etc.
...and a lot more that has already been listed. I'm just emphasizing the ones that I really want ;P
I wish they had more money in my wallet =3.
And Eureka 7 figures.
And Negima Vol.1, which apparently was monopolized at Fanime.
And Anything else I would want to buy.
I wish they had more ouran high school host club/code geass stuff.
Reborn! figures! XD There are a few I'm looking for and I can't order online yet (No credit card XD) Also that store that was selling the male visual kei photos and cute dark clothes weren't there this year, I think it was Bodyline or something. I really loved that store, but was disappointed they weren't here D:
Hey All,
Just wanted to let you guys know that your complaints have not fallen on deaf ears! If you know of a dealer who has *unique* items fit for our Dealers room, please refer them our way to
dealers[at]fanime.com.
Currently, I'm on the hunt for these types of dealers:
- Comic book & manga art supplies
- Non-anime, but falls into Japanese influenced products (ie: Gama-Go, Kid Robot, VooDoo Dolls, Re-Mint, independent designers)
- Various gaming dealers (video games & table top)
Trying to convince new dealers to attend FanimeCon is no easy task as they need to consider if this trip will make or break their bank. Aside from having to pay for their booth fees ($670-$820 per booth), dealers also need to take these logistics into account:
-freight handling & shipping fees
-truck rental fees
-gas (if traveling by ground)
-airline tickets
-hotel stay (at *least* 4 nights)
-food
-sufficient staff
And on top of all this, having enough sufficient staff to keep their store location open!
Yes, we've had our share of dealers in the past who've pulled out of FanimeCon simply because they couldn't make enough profit. Their margins were low, therefore they're less likely to return to our Dealers room. :-[
---------------------------------------
On the issue of imports:Dealers haven't been importing as much as they used to. Why? Because shipping is expensive and alot of the mainstream items are coming from official North American distributing companies such as Diamond Comics, AAAnime, & Great Eastern. In recent years, Diamond has expanded their import selections: Kotobukiya/Yamato PVC Statues, Gashapon figures, Bandai Soul of Chogokin collections, Gundam kits, etc...
Example:
Random "---" anime toy released in Japan on 1/1/2009. Dealers are expected to pay for yen price @ 500 ea & overseas shipping for said product. 6 months later, Diamond Comics announces they are importing the same toy @ cheaper costs than Japan.
Import dealers lose money and must now compete prices w/ the "localized" version of the same product. Importing
is a risky investment nowadays *if* someone else gets the North American distribution rights.
I couldn't find the limited edition Hellsing OVA 4 there :(. I wish the GITS figurines was cheaper... more gaia stuff would be nice.
i wish they had japan style clothing u see in the drama, anyways does anyone remember the clothing j pop/ j rock style that was sold in the dealers room in 08 but not in 09
and its not Lolita-Kisama, anyone have any idea what happen to them are who they are???

I want to say it was either J-Pop House -or- Digital Discs. Both had pulled out of 2009's con.
i wanna see some stuff from:
Pandora Hearts
Kingdom Hearts
Final Fantasy
Shakugan No Shana
Death Note
Code Geass
Gundam
and a lot of others i can't remember. x.x
They need more hetalia stuff~
I actually wish they had old school merch like from Gundam 0079 or Urusei Yatsura and more imports in stead of manga and boxsets that I can get online and off ebay for cheaper.
I would like to see some affordable and inexpensive Lolita wear. Those dresses are really not worth $300-$400 a pop. I know that Bodyline and Cosmates has some good prices. I know many girls that would love to buy Lolita fashion is it was only cheaper.
Alternate Non-perishable groceries
For Example: 5 lb bags of Nishiki Rice
Pan(bread/bun) Snacks
Japanese Cakes/Crackers
Ramen Noodles(cup or bag)
Food will prob be substantially limited in the dealers room....There are requirements that may be more difficult for dealers to adhere to this coming year.
Please bring digital discs back!!! ;^; Also sell more visual kei and Jrock!!! At Fanime 09 there was bearly anything and I left the dealers room very disappointed. Oh and please have a booth that sells LM.C merch like they did with AnCafe in Fanime 08. Thanx.

[PIANO] SHEET MUSIC.
Finding official sheet music from anime/video games outside of Japan (other than the option of purchasing via the internet) is so difficult. When I went to Japan, I came back with seven sheet music books. In all my years attending Fanime (2010 is going to be my fifth year), I've never seen anime/video game sheet music books sold. Or maybe sheet music is really popular and it's always sold out by the time I hit the Dealer's Room. D: Either way, with the great diversity of people that attend Fanime, a good portion of us must be musically inclined and would also be greatly interested in purchasing official sheet music from their favorite anime and video games. Finding a dealer that sells sheet music alone would be quite a challenge, but what about suggesting to Fanime's regular dealers to expand their merchandise to include sheet music? I know the music books are out there, I see them sold online all the time. But it's just much more convenient to purchase sheet music in person.
Come on, us musicians need some love too. >:
JAPANESE-BRAND HAIRDYE.
I'm talking about the
Palty,
Gatsby, and
Kao Prettia brands. This stuff is legit. I've only ever used Japanese hairdye when I choose to color my hair at home. Usually, these brands are found only in Japantowns or the few and far in between specialty J-shops. It's a pain in the butt driving to SF Japantown if my only mission was to buy hairdye, lol. -__- Finding a good selection of these hairdyes in Japanese/Asian groceries vary - at most, only two to three colors are available at these stores (if they're not specifically a Japanese grocery). I'm sure many girls (and guys!) would be interested in purchasing/trying out these brands but they just don't have the access to purchase them at a store. Maybe a dealer would like to add the stuff to their merch? :D
CIRCLE LENSESI haven't been around the cosplay contact lenses booth last year, but to my knowledge, contact lenses dealers at Fanime don't cell circle lenses. YES, there is a difference between regular color-contact lenses and circle lenses. http://circlelens.net/ (http://circlelens.net/) I know that I'd buy several pairs of circle lenses, if only they were sold at Fanime...

If you're from the Bay Area (heck, even SoCal), it's actually quite easy to shop for Japanese/Asian-related groceries. Raid your local 99 Ranch, Nijiya, Mitsuwa, Seafood City, Japantown, Chinatown, etc. Generally, if you have the access, buying from these stores instead of from the dealers at the con gets you a better deal for your buck.
Last year, I remember there was this dealer that was selling bottles of ramune soda for $2 a bottle. Wtf? You could get a six-pack of ramune for about $4 at 99 Ranch... And boxes of Pocky being sold at $2-4 dollars each? How about buying two boxes for a dollar at Nijiya? -__-
However, if you don't have access to shopping at these kinds of stores, then by all means, stock up. However, just think a little further before you start purchasing your Japanese non-perishables in bulk. Is it really worth paying so much extra?
Jannoy,
I've seen music sheet books sold at Kinokuniya SF. Though I can't say the same about SJ's location....can someone elaborate??
I'm still searching for a Baccano boxset. Most of the stores nearby don't have them. D:
I'd like to see a booth that sells theatrical makeup, like Ben Nye or Cinema Secrets. Even have some makeup experts give advice on the right kind we need.
Another thing I'd be interested in seeing in the Dealer's Room are
miscellaneous Japanese wares. These don't necessarily have to be very fancy/pricey. I'm talking about bento boxes, daruma, miscellaneous charms from temples/shrines (good luck, good health, etc.), yukata (real yukata, not something cosplay-inspired), obi, zori, parasols, kanzashi (hair pins/ornaments), kokeshi, furin (windchimes) etc. Not everyone who attends Fanime has access to a Japantown - I think a considerable amount of people would be interested in purchasing these Japanese items. :)

Yeah, I've seen sheet music sold at Kinokuniya SF also, however, the selection is very limited. I've checked and there aren't many sheet music books related to anime/video games. Mostly stuff by Japanese composers or pieces written in very easy notation (I've seen Japanese lullabies before).

I had a kimono booth at the '08 show and nearly sold out of a LOT of things, including tabi and yukata. This year I'm stocking up for Sakura-Con in April, but considering doing Fanime as well since it's local (I'm in the East Bay Area).
So... do you want to see a kimono booth at Fanime this year? Let me know.

Well we do know they can set up shop at anime conventions; they're scheduled to be at AX 2010.
i'd love to see 100 yen store items. you know, the cheap fun little stuff?
affordable bento items. i hate seeing cute stuff at 20-30+ bucks.
casual (everyday) yukata. not costume, not "vintage" (aka more money)
everyday geta! last pair i bought (only ones i could find) were made of a soft wood that is falling apart due to little rocks getting embedded in them
educational stuff(think the japanese study section of j-list)
pretty much, affordable cool stuff. it doesn't just have to be anime related.

What you're looking for is all Made In China. And really, you get what you pay for.
Yukata are never cheap unless they are machine made in China, and even then they are quite expensive, even in Japan. Vintage ones are usually hand sewn and last forever, so worth the money. Japanese-made cotton is vastly superior to most Chinese cottons. Sometimes if you're lucky you can find a cheap yukata on ebay, but watch for shipping costs. There are some bargains to be had if you're diligent!
Geta are often made of paulownia or other soft wood and meant for one season's wear, so yeah, they do fall apart. I go through at least a pair a year, just doing shows.
I WISH I could sell the items you want for cheap, but the fact is nearly half my cost is just shipping stuff out of Japan to the US. It is VERY expensive to import these things, even if they start out cheap in Japan.
Just to back up what kimonomomo's saying here - Ichiroya, one of the most reputable vendors out of Japan, recently listed a bunch of adorable new casual yukata and obi sets.
http://www.ichiroya.com/sp/list.php?spid=S4bad7f3729137
Check the prices.
This is what what you're going to pay for brand new "not costume" yukata straight from Japan. Vintage are usually less expensive.
I managed to snag a brand new high-end yukata a few years back on sale for 50,00y. It's more than I've spent on many of my vintage kimono and I consider it to be a great deal for a brand new item.
Underpriced YGO cards.

1. Live action drama series.
2. StrangeLand: Seven Sins comic
3. A Nnorita plushi XD
4. Odd clothing.
That's all.... :3
I've seen belt buckles/belts a few times now. Dealers make it happen!!
i wasn't asking for anything amazingly cheap, even just daisho status.
3 dollar bento boxes is awesome, idc who you are.
Loot I'd love to come home with:
Figures:
Yui Hirasawa figma
Hatsune Miku 2010 Sega Prize ver.
Vanille, Lightning and Reimi Square Enix Play Arts figures
Gundam 00 character figures
Azusa Nakano figma
BRS figma
Manga:
I"S vol.6-15
Psychic Academy Vol.11
Air Gear 5+
D.N.Angel Vol.3
Other:
Like it goes every year, I always find a million things that weren't on my list- and I usually return home with a mostly completed list and a ton of other great stuff. I wish to find tons of great stuff again this year. Some great character goods, maybe some new Doujinshi, quality figures, rare finds, oh- and that oppai mousepad I've been wanting for forever~ XD
Wish they had more Cyndaquil plushies since they all sold out on friday. Also wish there were more Ramune flavors sold other than the packs. (Melon, strawberry, original and there was another)
Not junk food would be nice like the poster above said, bento boxes would be awesome, just need a cooling unit to keep them in. Belts would be awesome, any kind, seat belt, black belt, a belt. Cosplay clothing not limited to popular series but I could imagine the prices of though being 100+...
hellsing wallscroll....
Durarara!! & Angel Beats merchandise.. More An Cafe merchandise, i didn't have a chance to get any the last 2 years T_T
More wall scrolls, Affordable figurines/action figures (Prices varied greatly from $10 to over $50 depending on the character and who sold it), and Lolita or other cool Japanese clothing in Tall American Size.
Some Elfen Lied merch!!! I swear I didn't see as much Elfen Lied merch as I would have liked T_T
Also I maybe some cheaper plushies? A lot of the plushies really seemed to be a rip-off
Of course this is an anime convention....but with the growing fandom of J-pop, K-pop, and asian dramas...it would be nice if there was a larger selection for that category.

I agree...we definitely need more games. Especially new and imported games(BONUS!). However, I was satisfied with the games they sold at Swap Meet.
Klonoa stuff. T^T
Lots of swap meeters selling the games (mostly the two on GBA), no merch at Dealers.
Lesser-known game stuff.
One thing that was COMPLETELY missing from the Dealer's room: Momoi CDs!
I mean seriously! We can get her t-shirts that she's importing from Japan. I remember seeing one of her concert DVDs from when she was with Under 17, but God forbid we get one of her CDs!! I'd REALLY like to not have to pay for full price of all that shipping to get them here in the USA damn it >.<
A Taiko plush from Taikono Tatsujin. I saw them in 09 but not in 10 >< I searched high and low for one.
I'd hate to be AX-ish, but I would like more American anime licensing companies present (Funimation, Geneon, Bandai, etc.) and video game distributors / promos (Sony, Nintendo, Bandai Namco, Capcom, Zynga, etc.)
ELECTRONICS!!!!!! 2010 sucked when it came to video game vending. some shit about some venders not showing up for whatever reason. I ALWAYS spend hundreds on imports for my consoles. Heck, I even bought a Imported Pink PSP in 2008. (perfect gift for my sister's B-day). I was very disappointed in 2010. I hope Fanime notices this post in some way, shape or form. Maybe we can have something sweet in 2011??
More Scouters...
Did they sell any BL game merchandise? XD Like Togainu no Chi? I wasn't paying attention last year ^^;
I miss the booth that sold anime soundtracks there were so many cds I wanted to buy last year but they were not there and I'm not sure if they were there in 2009. :-\

Your best bet is using a deputy service to access all the Yahoo Japan and Rakuten goods. Deputy services will charge you a small commission fee, but, as most Japanese will not do business (or ship) to anyone outside of Japan, it's really your best bet. I'm guessing that a lot of vendors who import will likely charge you just as much if not more, considering that they need to cover their costs as well. There's also a chain of Japanese 'dollar stores' in the Bay Area(I'd mention the name but I'm not sure if it's ok to plug them here), so, if you're headed to Fanime, you might want to check them out. They have a good selection of bento boxes and other items. And, since most items are $1.50, they won't blow your con budget.
For kimono stuff, you really need to head to Japan. There are some really good and affordable second hand kimono stores in Tokyo. But, bear in mind, that 'authentic' kimono stuff can be pricey. Even in a second hand(most of the stuff doesn't look used at all) shop, it is not unheard of to pay 20,000 - 30,000 yen for just the obi alone.
I hope this helps.
A better variety of snacks would be cool. I mostly saw chocolate and strawberry Pocky, and while those are good, I can easily get them from my local grocery store at any given time. It seemed WhizzyWig was the only dealer that had a better spread, and even their stuff was kinda limited compared to 2009 (or so I can recall right now). They still have good stuff, though =).
Also, I second others' suggestions about having figures other than girls in mostly provocative outfits. It would be nice to have male action figures as well so you don't get hit with a barrage of women with their clothes barely there.
Lastly, someone else mentioned this, but better phone charms would also be appreciated, especially if they don't cost $15-20. I'd prefer to not blow a few meals worth of cash just to make my phone look awesome.

There are usually a ton of really cute and relatively inexpensive phone charms in the Artists Alley. Little polymer ones, fabric ones, etc. I'd rather buy from small handcrafters and get something cute and unique anyway :)

Oh yeah, I forgot that some of the artists make good phone charms. Unique ones are always better than mass-made commercial ones anyway. Plus, it's always nice to support the artists while getting something badass :). I'll have to look at the booths more closely this year and see if they have anything of note.
I'm a big fan of Jeannie Lee's charms - http://junosama.deviantart.com/
I know she was selling at past Fanime (last time I managed to go was 2008 and she was there), not sure if she'll have a table there this year. But she lives in the area, so I would be sort of surprised if she didn't.
Oh man, I totally just fell in love with her paopu fruit cell phone charm. Hehe, I'm a sucker for anything Kingdom Hearts as you can probably tell. Unfortunately she isn't selling it on Etsy, so I'll might email her and ask if she'll be at this year's Fanime, and if she has any plans to sell those charms if she is there. Thanks for the recommendation :).
We want Hellsing Patch !!
It would be Awesome !!
Non Sexy body pillows. I wanna cuddle with my pillow without feeling like a complete perv.
Ditto for what Necara said
I've always liked body pillows, but I have a hard time finding "Non-sexy" ones...
AKA: Non-Sexy = No underwear showing, no nudity
More Totoro dolls. >>;;
More durarara merch.
Any know if I can find any Yu Yu Hakusho merch in the Dealers Hall or Swap Meet? I just watched the whole series again and forgot how much I loved it in junior high.
Finding this stuff is my major goal for this year.
And maybe a Black Rock Shooter figure ^^;
Any word of an official Bandai dealer coming back for 2011?
Dealers that sell from older series from 1999 and below. There was one seller who made a killing from me with all his Urusei Yatsura merch. (THERE JUST WASN'T ENOUGH!) This is why I focus on the Swap Meet because so many people sell off their older merch. Otherwise the dealer room is ok with me; the majority of my funds go to commissions at the artist alley anyway.
Revoltech 060 Enki (Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann) NEW used :S and @ "normal price"...

also, I have a question for anybody who has purchased Revoltech 062 Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, is the red paint really dark on yours?

Can someone please have the Axis Powers Hetalia figurines? Pleeeeease? ::hopes::
I really don't want to have to fight websites I can't read for them! (and I've tried to learn, but I seem to be mostly incapable of learning languages...)
I so agree with you! On that note, I was shocked to see very little of hetalia and what I did see was hella over priced. More exclusive hetalia stuff.
Quote from: Mister_E on June 12, 2008, 07:08:44 PM
Like they either ran out or never had.
I wish they had a Gelgoog Marine models, now I have to wait longer to get one.
Also more Gundam Universal Century stuff.
I also wish there'd been more UC Gundam merch. Specifically, I wish I'd seen more Zeta-related merch, although I'm aware that particular series didn't get much of a North American release and thus isn't very popular. :(

I agree. At lest a hand full of j-pop/rock stuff would be great.
Anime and video game soundtracks would be great :D
Gakuran would be great.
Anything Luka related
The entire set of FREEing 1/4 scale figures that cost from $200- $500 a piece. I saw a Kimidori one,but I wasn't really up to it.
Dragon Warrior/Dragon Quest stuff...Anything...Just...anything will do D: Also Sailor Saturn items 030
Official Arpakasso products. All the ones in Dealer's room were oddly misshapen in the face :/
More Nichijou figures!
The only kind I could find were tiny trading figures which were ADORABLE but more variety would've been appreciated!
More shitajiki, specifically for Eva. Ironically Anime Palace, which had a lot more last year, was cleaned out this time. :o
Anything for Jormungand, given that it is on air right now. Didn't even see any manga, however it is a more obscure Viz title.
More Gintama ANYTHING. I only found 3 figures.... :[ 2 I already owned so naturally I bought the one I didn't have.
Also, I'm a sucker for the small "surprise" figure boxes that are usually 10 bucks. I didn't buy any because they were not that great this year.
Also more shirts from various anime/games not just mainstream!!! My goal this year was to come home with at least 5 - 10 new geeky shirts. I bought 1. :/ and it was not from Dealers Hall.
Gakuran, older Macross stuff (although I heard there was a lot of Macross merch at the swap meet), and pre-Gen 5 Pokemon stuff.
Wish more booths had more Touhou stuffs.
I know there was that one exclusively Touhou booth, but you can always use more Touhou ;D
There were like no video games or music cds either.
And Vocaloid stuff. I don't think I saw anything except Miku related stuff there. Or atleast I don't remember seeing anything Vocaloid related that wasn't Miku.
I wish there was a yugioh dealer the sold single cards. There was one two years ago and it was perfect but I haven't seen him or anyone else doing singles for the past two years.

Yeah, that was disappointing. I was hoping there would be some Megurine Luka merchandise. I like her more than Miku.

Huh, really? I swore I saw some Touhou games... I KNOW I saw horribly overpriced yukkuris and Fumofumos (that a friend said might be bootlegged).
And yeah, shame. Given that I heard Fanime didn't want to be associated with the Vocaloid concert for some reason, not beeg surprised.
MOAR PLUSHIES!!! (although different ones besides the usual mainstream ones)
I find the lack of Luka disturbing...

Also...BRING BACK THE GAIA BOOTH!
Yeah! My friend and I were all bummed that they weren't here. Someone had even given my friend some money to buy her a hat from Gaia, or something, and it wasn't even there, which threw a wrench in the works.
I liked finding the old Final Fantasy PSone games there, though. I bought myself Final Fantasy VIII, which was the only one I didn't have. XD
I would like to see more Gurren Lagann stuff, definitely. I'd definitely go after some Kamina and Simon related items. :3
I must say thats very strange cause their headquaters is in San Jose that's why we had so many Gaia artists in the Artist Alley I REALLY missed the Gaia booth. I wonder if asking admins on Gaia would be more helpful to this endeavor?
Wow I'm kinda a duffus quoting a 2009 post. But yeah I'd like to see a Gaia booth again. Also World God Only Knows... I wish they had more merchandise for that.

this.
I ended up getting a $7 ghost totoro mini plushy for my truck, but i wanted something bigger.
Dang I thought I posted this before but I didn't see it on any of the pages. A year or two ago someone had a vending machine next to their booth. You put in a dollar (maybe it was two dollars) and got a capsule with a small figure in it, like the ones in Japan at the malls. This vending machine had Yu Yu Hakusho figures. It ran out pretty fast, when I came by a few hours later the machine was empty. I'd like more of those.
I wanted to see some more variety of anime collections, be it books/DVDs/games cause I kept seeing alot of mainstream ones and I was kind of disappointed cause I thought people were more educated or enthusiastic about those smaller unknown under-the-radar animes. Sadly I saw only a few major ones I recognized that many would prob say "whats that?" to. Here's to a vendor digging deeper and relieving those "lost" treasures! :D
Moar Figma, Nendoroids, never a bad thing. :D
Doujinshi, oppai mousepads, "REAL" dakimakura pillowcases.
And of course more character goods, art books, and miscellaneous items. XD
Need more Type Moon, K-ON!!, and Touhou amongst other things.
Also...VIDEO GAMES! Where are they? Not the kind we can get from GameStop- I mean the juicy good stuff! I'd like to find Project Diva f, Idolm@ster 2, or Senran Kagura Shinovi VS and buy them right there! Would be totally awesome.
Also, more Blu-Ray box sets!
More Luke related items

more mousepads or dakimakura pillows...
Definitely looking for a Kill la Kill scissor blade this year
As well as another one or two of those big plushy cats that were rampant last year
more cybergoth stuff
Monster hunter steel cases, shin megami tensei merch, megaman or smash bros stuffs i hope to see some bravely default stuff there this year!
trust me,if i find some youll notice me,ill be the one freaking out in the dealers hall...:$
I've seen all the latest requests and will pass these onto our Dealers. I'm hoping to be able to post a complete roster soon for people to look over.
I love all varieties of plushies and will always take a serious look at any plush, but I particularly enjoy the cuddle-sized (~1 foot tall) ones made of soft and cuddle-worthy material. Last year I spent more on my plushies alone than all my posters and prints combined.
I also love cosplay jewelry and other accessories. The laser-cut pokemon badges (pinnable to shirts and jackets if so desired) were some of the best finds I've ever found at any con, period.
I'd also say Kuroko no Basket cosplay outfits, but I get the feeling that those will easily exceed $50 for a single article of clothing and understandably may not sell too well.
Electronics. Gaming. More clothing. Food?? Things for my cats :-)
Carbon steel swords?
JoJo figures!!
I saw a Young Joseph and a Series 3 Dio. But those were super over-priced. Besides that, nothing! I understand that I couldn't find much Kill La Kill, because it's newer and with out much merchandise. But JoJo has been around forever! Please dealers, more Joestars!
Instead of a specific item, I just wish there were more distributors since a majority of these dealers all sell the same items.

Likewise.
I saw a vendor who sold a Jotaro figure, but yes it was super-overpriced and was cash-only.
Hopefully next year more vendors carry Jojo figures. :D
More stuff that isn't figures? I came in hoping to buy a bunch of Sailor Moon stuff but as far as I could tell nobody had any of the items I'd seen online (charm sets, pointers, pens, cups, plates, phone cases, phone chargers, etc)
Not a stock request but it would be nice if more of the costume/goth vendors had big signs up indicating what sizes they offer, for the convenience of those of us who don't fit in the Japanese size range. There's a lot of bigger folk and it would help to know which places we should bother picking through the racks and which ones we should stay out of everybody else's way.

Glad to see you agree. That shows there IS a demand. So I hope the dealers take note! :'D
Welp. Here's hoping for better next year. Plenty of Jojo art in AA. Just need plenty of Jojo Merch in DH!
:( I tried looking around the dealers hall for some Senran Kagura figures for my boyfriend but I couldn't find any. Maybe next year if there is enough of a demand~ I figured with how focused the show is on...bodies and such, that they'd have some popular figures, but guess not.
Saw practically nothing from Kill la Kill aside from the artist alley, There will probably be tons next year though.
I would've loved to see some Nameko goods of any kind, but I guess it's not popular enough in the US? It's such a HUGE hit in Japan it's surprising anime/game fans over here don't like it. :(

Same with Puzzle and Dragons, huge hit in Japan but kind of eh here.

Glitch Gear had a decent amount, though it was mostly shirts and Portal merchandise (sentry turret blind boxes, lemon grenades, etc.). Level Up Studios was also there and they carried some of the action figures, but aside from that I think they only had fan-made artwork/shirts and the like scattered across other booths, if they were even available.
As much as I love Valve and their properties, I wouldn't suggest doling out $50 for a replica of the Sandvich or $20-30 for the figures that can break just removing them from the packaging.
More tokusatsu!!!! One can never have enough toku merch. :P
More cybergoth stuff...
Some cool announcements.
Along the lines of new distributors we have some new blood joining us:
What Pumpkin Studios
Kuretake Zig
Also for clarification, what is cybergoth? I may be to old now.... I know cyberpunk, but not cybergoth. Some examples would be great for tracking it down.

Typical Cybergoth apparel is goggles, spikes, and those tube-thingies worn like a wig.
