Well, this year's gathering was awesome; thanks to those of you who showed up and sorry to those of you who couldn't make it >_< I was glad to meet all of you!

I'll have my new D.Gray stuff done next year (and the time to wear it -- ohgodtoomanycosplays!), Murphy willing.  I've got plans for both Komui and finishing up my halfway-done pre-Exorcist Miranda, so hopefully can turn up in one of those.  :3

Really random, but speaking of Komui. . . we saw one by the fountains at the time of the D.Gray-man gathering, but he was being anti-social and wouldn't come over and join the group TT^TT so we actually ended up with only one (or two) Komuis this year. I actually saw. . . zero. xD; But I heard there were a couple or so running around.

Well, there's a chance that I'll go to the D.Gray Man Gathering, so might as well.  Going as Allen Walker in his initial Crowned Clown transformation and also as the same character with that buster sword looking thing.  Yesh.  Oh, I'll bring at least a Lavi, Komui or Miranda, Kanda, and Lenalee with me in a group.

I'm strongly considering cosplay Komui... but I'm not sure my friend wants to cosplay Rinali anymore >___<;; I'll have to wait and ask her (she's on vacation for a couple of months so I'll likely not know till mid-late August).

Hehehe, yes -- I don't remember what name she's going by here.  :3  I did threaten her with severe death (or worse) after she lost me without ever moving me -- because that was the SECOND chess game that had happened in at Fanime, and I did not approve.  :3

Gas prices down here: roughly $4.45 last I checked, which was a few days ago.  I'm sure they've gone up a few cents since, as they always do going into the weekend.  T_T

AX is as close to "home" as cons get for me, at about an hour and a half's drive.  Fanime was more like four and a half, though well worth it for the awesome experience.  <3

... it makes me very sad that I have to wait here at work for the next half-hour or so to be able to run some samples, and I have nothing else to work on, and I've got cosplay stuff sitting right here to ... oh, wait, I can take my break time now!  Mwahaha!

Ahh oy AX -____-;; I really want to go but in my case it's more of a lack of a room that's preventing me from going at the moment. But I'm asking around... not too much success so far though. I have alot of friends I really want to meet going this time to (as usual I might add).

well from san jo to L.A. is about a 3-4 hour drive I pressume from where I live its going to be a 7 - 8
hour drive fun XP

Oh dear god I don't think I could stand a road trip with my family at all.

I went on a road trip from Seattle to AX in Anihiem and it was a good 14 hours. Through dead, dry grass lands.  I wanted to stab myself in the head just for entertainment, but I had nothing sharp enough so I settled for repeatedly slamming my head against the window.  >_<

well it also depends on how fast your driving
and if your able to avoid traffic ^ ^

I drive pretty darned fast, and it took me something like four hours to get from Santa Barbara to San Jose, not counting the stops we made on the way.  We didn't have a lot of traffic, straight shot up the 101.  I expect if you're taking the 5 down that's better, because you can drive even faster, but IMO, five hours is probably more reasonable on average from SJ to LA.  (It's a little over an hour for me south to LA, barring traffic -- yeah, like there's never any.)

I need to insist my brother build that teleporter he was supposed to be making in college.  Three years is enough time, right?  :3

(That said, I kind of like road trips, though I prefer them if I'm the driver -- I make a bad passenger, and that way I can control the music.  But for me, road trips usually involve high-speed chatter and/or singing along with the music, especially if it's my sister and I (as it was for Fanime).)

Btw 10 on Sunday = awesome time as it lets me work a second gathering later on in the day, and judging from my plans so far I'll probably be participating in two gatherings at least one of the days.

Yeah, that was the main reason why we picked 10 AM this year, cuz it was early on in the day, so most people would be able to make it, not to mention go to the SJ gathering at 2 in the same costume, or another one if they were going to a different gathering. ^^ Cuz we smart lol

D8 I just noticed the Soul Eater gathering was Sunday to > A<;; I'll see if I can get that changed with any luck. Three cosplays in one day is a bit much, though so far only Shinpachi's cosplay has given me any trouble (with any luck I'll be able to wear it right for AX).

but I think 10 is quite early thats why alot of people didnt make it this year.

Oi, I HATE changing in and out of costumes!
Especially at Fanime.  First I was Edgeworth, at 1pm, then was the shonen jump shoot at 2.
They weren't taking 'Edgey pictures' anyway so I changed into mini Byakuya as quickly as i could and still missed the shonen jump shoot
Byakun is only IN the manga so I belonged there more than the Bleach shoot. >_<

Bah, we can sleep the rest of year.
Going an entire con without sleep is quite the experience ( what I can remember of it) everyone should do it once.
Later I foudn out that after I changed the PW group was looking for an Edgeworth. This is why I HATE having more than one costume.

The concept of getting regular sleep at any con is amusing to me XD

I can understand not wanting to pull constant all nighters but.... I just don't see how any one can sleep regular hours (assuming them to be 8-10) at a con.

Haha I almost went through AX06 with no sleep.. though I kept passing out for a minute from time to time whenever I sat down o ___o;;

It's important to get SOME sleep but I can't believe regular hours are possible.

I can understand not wanting to pull constant all nighters but.... I just don't see how any one can sleep regular hours (assuming them to be 8-10) at a con.

Haha I almost went through AX06 with no sleep.. though I kept passing out for a minute from time to time whenever I sat down o ___o;;

Neither can I. 'Sleep' and 'convention ' are completely  antonymous with one another.

Last Kumoricon I did the very same thing. The second I stopped moving, I'd fall asleep.  I even fell asleep while my friend was spiking up my hair and apparently started hallucinating after a while.

It worked out pretty well though because I was cosplaying as a  really beat up Renji ( covered in fake blood and bandages.) and was stumbling around behind Byakuya. It only made the costume more..'believable XD

Yeah, that's our main debating point right now, I think. . . whether to make it just a LITTLE bit later so more people can make it (and still sleep in, lol xD) Because, at one point, we only had 5 people at the gathering, and by the time more people came, most of the people that HAD been there on time were gone ^^;

Awwwww :3 Well.. most of my friends in general tend to be younger.... but most of my cosplaying friends are about my age or older it seems.

I know A LOT of people who cosplay. There's just one tiny little problem; I cant stand to be around the majority of them. >>

My friend and I think that it's a problem to find friends at conventions because they are either very young and drag all their teenage baggage a long with them, ( that's how it is at Sakuracon, no one can just forget their hang-up and have fun, noo, the convention is where they bring all of their baggage and  open it up to share like  some sort of crazy drama-pot luck! >_< )
or that they have no drama, also no time or money to attend.  It's difficult to find a happy medium.

Fanime was really awesome though. I met people of all ages and no one was dramatic/neurotic/psychotic ex.
Everyone was pretty damned cool.

It cracks me up to realise that I look younger in most of my cosplays.  Of course, I'm usually losing the glasses and putting on a wig, and since that covers the grey hair up (I started going grey pretty young), that probably helps.  :3  *older than Yuu*

I'm in full-on flail mode getting ready for AX (the only reason I'm not sewing yet is I slept about five hours last night, and I've been doing four to five for the last two weeks, so I have to finish waking up first T_T ).  Trying to finish a Juuni Kokki cosplay, but after AX, it's the details for that and finishing up my Miranda cos, because it's half-done and will be LOTS faster than trying to get Komui done for Kumoricon.  Too many cosplays, way too little time and space, do want more of both.  T_T

I think I'm a freak for expecting to actually sleep at cons, but at least for Fanime, I had the excuse of being the driver.  You want your drivers to sleep, unless you like dying.  :D  I didn't get more than about five hours the night before Fanime, though, and so I had to make up at con.  (It was very odd staying up until ... what was it, almost two? ... on the last night of con.  I'd never done that before, somehow.)

The thing I'm looking to least with finishing Miranda is the mass of buttons up the back.  If I were smart, I'd just put a zipper in, but nooooooo, must be accurate.  Dear neuroses, plz stop.  If I melt at AX, it will be your fault.

(I'm pretty sure I'll be doing midday costume changes next year, given the amount of stuff I've got planned.  Flail, flail, panic, flail.)

Actually, I'm not doing uniform Miranda -- I started her pre-exorcist dress for last year's AX, never finished it, and decided I'd do that for Kumoricon this year because Komui might take me too long to work out (and I have other projects I want to start).  I don't think the uniforms use buttons much aside from the decorative accents.  :D

I envy you, Yamaneko: I can't deal well with heat at all, so freezing would be OMGYAY.  My current house isn't as bad as the one we were renting last summer, where it didn't get below eighty for most of the summer indoors because INSULATION LOLWHUT? and other kinds of epic fail.  (Seriously, that place was a deathtrap.  At least it was cheap.)  I don't like it above seventy-five or so, which means clearly that I live in the wrong place.

I HATE cold. I cannoit stand it below 65. My apparent is a bit warm but it's in the middle of asia town and is all-Japnese-ey. Theres a giant court yard with a gazebo and a pond/fountain thing. Plus I have my own patio so I just sleep outside it gets too bad.

I don't think it wilted. . . just another two petals fell off or something o.o apparently, the Lotus is keeping him alive, and as soon as all the petals fall, then he dies. . . ? o_O I dunno, something like that.

As for me, I'd rather it be super-hot than super-cold, so. . . yeah ^^;

Me too. It got to 105 one day last summer. My friend came over asking " OMG!! How can you run around nd like that! It's over 100 degrees!"

D8 another thing I dislike about the heat is I sun burn easy/tan easy and I like to go on walks/jogs for exercise. It's alot easier for me to do such enjoyable when it's cooler. It's alot easier to wear more layers of clothers then not as well XD;; Pants > shorts, at least for me.

My brother, on the other hand, really loves the hot weather as well.

The funny thing is I'm actually better handling the heat then I think I am. My mom will come into my room sometimes and comment on how hot it is and I'll be like "eh" ?

The heat just tends to make me feel more emotionally upset then anything else, but I'll probably not even notice at AX since I'll be to busy enjoying myself to really care (plus it's not suppose to get higher then 80's apparently).

I almost wish I had finished Miranda for it.  She'd be cooler.  Maybe I will wear Okita one day after all ...

A gathering is basically where lots of people cosplaying from (typically) the same anime / title get together, take photos, and get to know each other ^^ It's kind of a way to sort out cosplayers, for the sake of the photographers that come every year, and also so we can locate people who love the same titles we do ^^ (because even if they're not in costume, people who love the title always end up showing up to take pictures and what-not)

I think it's a woman he's looking for. I don't recall exactly, but I think he did at one point say 'her' and I also read somewhere she's the one who cursed him. Probably just wants to get even, at least, I hope. I will have no gay Beauty and the beast shit in my anime! >_<

On the subject of weather; bout an hour I looked up at the clouds thinking " Looks like lightening.." Not ten minutes later there was this ginormous nuclear bomb like flash. And EPIC lightening. Not like that pussy thread-thin white lightening either, giant pink-purple bolts. That was the most awesome thing I'd ever seen. I wanted take the antenna off my friends car and go play outside but he wouldn't let me. Lame ass.

On a much more random note. Downtown is crazy. Apparently there was a bank robbery and shoot-out. I was stuck in class. I did hear the sirens and gunshots, but thats' all. Since it's a class on law I tried to convince the instructor to let us out via ' On-site experiance' btu she didn't go for it. WHY do I always miss the exciting things?!

Blargh.  I'm here at work with an hour and three quarters to go, I'm trying not to fall asleep sitting up, and I've still got sewing to do when I get home to finish up for AX -- plus, of course, things like packing.  And before that, I'm going over to my parents' place to dye up a pair of pants for a cosplay and to bake cookies.  At least I'm getting dinner out of the bargain, I think. :3

I still want to do my Komui cos, but I'm seriously wondering how it'll fare in terms of time.  Oh, well.  Someday.  :D  I <3 mad scientists.

College really isn't very scary. This is the first collage class I've taken where I've felt challenged and it's part of my law major. It's pretty brutal, but I'm not complaining. I didn't expect it to be a walk in the park.

I went to my old apartment today to get the rest of my stuff when I noticed something that I HAVE to bring to the D Gray-meet.

Last October my grandparents gave me a Hyacinth plant. I LOVE flowers, but I'm eh..not very good with them.  << understatement of the century.

I forgot to take it out of the shade which kind of stunted it's growth. The few flowers it had wilted immediately. My roommate kept getting on my ass for not throwing it out. Because as I still argue " It's NOT dead dammit!"

It was still in my room this morning.  I picked it up and brought it with me to the new apartment. It's sitting on my patio, it just  needs is a little sun. And yes, I'll still have it come Fanime so I'm bringing it with me. XD

Cons: need to talk to Gaming for a board (unless we make one ourselves) and time slot, need to organize teams

So yeah. . . in the case of Cosplay Chess, it's more a problem of whether Gaming will let us ^^;;

Problem with Cosplay Chess is that you need a LOT of people.  I had much fun with it last Fanime (even if I still fistshake in Yuu's general direction, mwaha), but it's hard to assemble enough people -- we nearly didn't have enough even at the Bleach gathering.

And yeah, also back from AX.  Fwee.  *thud*  Working at convincing my family to come to Fanime next year, which would be fun and mean that I'd be more likely to do D.Gray, so yay.

The problem as I see it in my case at least will be the amount of time this all takes, espically if I do end up getting my own table in the AA and want to sell my own prints and possibly offer commissions. I'm already getting alot of my time ate up with other cosplay meets and I have at least one more the same day of this one.

So what did you both think of AX anyway if you mind me asking?

I found AX itself pretty dull -- but, as my Cross-Kaasan pointed out, it's much more of an industry con than a fan con, and as a fan, I find that pretty meh.  The con centre was okay, the organisation (aside from photoshoot locations, which were confusing to remember because none of the info booths had a map) far better than last year, and aside from what seemed like a relatively few incidents, staff was okay.  Personally, I could have used a hell of a lot more A/C, but that might've had something to do with wearing fifteen BILLION layers of clothing for most of con.  Oh, cosplay.  XD  Overall, they carried it off a lot better than I expected them to; I don't know if I'll be going back, in all fairness, but that's based far more on who I know who will be going and can room with than anything else -- I have no motivation to go by myself.

However, I go to cons more for company than for anything else, and I can say with perfect surety that the company I kept was all kinds of awesome.

Yes, Cosplay Chess would take more people AND time D:

The thing is that SO MANY gatherings are happening on Sunday that a lot of people will probably be going through more than one costume that day, thus don't have enough time to sit around and play chess in their D.Gray-man one. . .

My thought was that maybe we could have D.Gray-man Cosplay Chess on another, less-busy day, but that would kinda kill the point. . . plus, as I see it, we might not have enough people even IF everyone stayed D: (but, then again, who knows how many people are assembling on cosplay[dot]com, so. . .)

More A/C sure would have been nice yeah @___@ I wouldn't have needed to switch out of my Shinpachi cosplay half way through the day if it was cooler.

And I go for pretty much the same reason and since I got to meet a lot of awesome new friends overall the con = very awesome. Main thing that sucked about AX was none of my friends wanted to do anything during the nights/later evening of the cons so that was pretty boring, at Fanime I had fun all hours.

Urgh, gad.  I was wearing Unohana two days, and the other two was the dry run for my Juuni Kokki cosplay, which is EVEN MORE FABRIC.  I was an amazingly puddleriffic 'Ris.  I will give them props for better A/C than last year, though.

(Amusingly, despite epic fail of panels and stuff, I didn't get to sleep once before about one in the morning at con, which is late as all get out for me and mine.  Kaasan usually falls over by noon, but we kept going out for food or hanging out or things like that.)

Gotta get sewing on Miranda this weekend.  Spazz, flail. But shopping now!

Well alot of it was my fault really cause I choose to wear a shirt under the hakuma?sp but.... still it was pretty swealtering @__@ I wish I could handle the heat better. To me it will take alot to make AX more enjoyable then Fanime just cause of the location. It's hard to beat the Fanime con area imo and if the weather continues to be decent like it has the last few years Fanime will just be more enjoyable almost every time.

... my Shinpachi was more a dry run to though. I still wish I could put it on myself and I still need sandels and possibly a wig.

XD ahh well good thing in my case I don't care much for panels in the first place. And it helped that the AA was in a windowless room instead of that damn sunny hallway it was last year, that place was pretty brutal.

Fanime is turning into toomuchtowearcon for me -- it'll be especially bad if all of my family comes down (they're talking about Fanime over AX next year, since they can really only all make one Cali con).  If they do, D.Gray will be much more likely for me, though, since Kaasan does Cross and my punk-arse big brother cosplays Tyki, and I'm sure they'll insist I cos it with them -- especially if the brother's there.

At least with Miranda I don't need a wig, just to pull all my hair up in a bun.  AND HOPE IT STAYS. T_T

My hair isn't espically long per say I just want to be absolutely sure the cosplay turns out well, and besides the wig caps are so cheap so it's not like it's a huge cost burden to order them.

I was trying to avoid wigs expect for cosplays I'd obvious need them (Cross comes to mind as a good example) but I'm probably just going to avoid hair dye and use wigs for all cosplays I need them for. That way I won't have to worry about my natural hair length before the con as well. I always had that worry beforehand about timing my hair cut right and with wigs I wouldn't have to.

I'm getting kind of annoyed trying to tint mine blue. Apparently the black dye is used is some sort of crazy light and color devouring quasar. I tried using just blue hoping it would stic, just a little enough to tint it, barley. My nails and skin turned almost turquoise but my hair is still completely devoid of all color. It's madness.

I can't dye mine at all, really.  I can cover up the grey for about two washes if I go for a permanent dye and the grey-buster stuff, but it's just not worth it.  I'll probably wind up doing it for Miranda because Lazy Charis wants to avoid another wig and will be doing hair-up dress Miranda, but that means it'll last through con and that's about it.  (It's also way too long for her -- just about to my waist again now.)

I need to get cracking on Miranda for Kcon, but Trinity Blood keeps distracting me.  T_T  Maybe I'll dig out the dress tonight while I wait for my laundry to finish ...

It's like. . . okay, so if you're looking at the main convention center entrance from the fountains, look over to the left corner (since the entrance itself kinda sticks out of the wall. . .) There's a set of stairs and a little "forest-y" area with a random table in it (Gina knows where; she was with Spooky there for a photoshoot). It's also where all those pictures of me from Spooky and the ones on ACP were taken @___@

If you look directly to the left, there are the doors to the Marriott (I think) TT____TT (methinks we need to re-scope out the place again; I have horrible memory)

As said in the Gintama gathering thread, we could always make signs / a banner / posters that people can see from the fountains to make sure people can find our gathering x3;;

I don't think there are any really good locations for a DGM shoot on the campus of SJSU.  There may be a few small areas that could be used, but overall there really isn't much there that isn't obstructed to buildings.

This may be a little far fetched and a little out of the way for most of the people attending, but the Happy Hollow Park and Zoo has a Japanese Friendship Garden. However, it's a ways away from the convention center.

I'll be going back up there sometime next month before school starts, I can scout the area some if you want me to. Take some pictures and post them up here?

Also, all the other people who come for pictures and aren't green-screening would get a random green background xD;

On a side note, if anyone's in the area before or after Fanime and has some free time, I might try to get a photoshoot room at De Anza College; it'd be nice to have a cast to shoot there, too.

Alright, I should be going back up there around the 17th of August, so expect pictures the following weekend?  I'll try my best.  I'll also drag one of my roommates to the Friendship Garden and take pictures there too so more people can decide whether or not they want to walk over there.  The bus is an option, but I don't know the routes and times and all that jazz, plus, it costs money.

Okay, I'm actually gonna double-post V.V FORGIVE MEEEEEEE. . . !!

So, I guess I'll just summarize for yesterday. . . Hiro, you can feel free to add anything you think I missed xDD; I will have a link to all pictures at the end of this post.

We met up at the San Jose convention center where Fanime's held every year, and took pictures of the area I was talking about for this year's gathering. You can see where it is in contrast to other things in picture 2 under San Jose Convention Center (why, yes, I does suck at drawing arrows / writing in MSPaint xP) We took a look around the area and took various shots of the forest-y area and the stairs (which actually don't lead anywhere, but. . .) Due to backlighting, some pictures make the place look darker than it actually was @_@ Oh, and they moved the chess table I was talking about D: I think it'll be back for the convention, though; who knows x3;;

We then went to check out SJSU, since we were close by. Most of the shots taken here were reference for possible, future REBORN! photoshoots. Mostly of the parking garage xD; Though, we did go near the arena, and took some shots from the roof of the taller building. (I saw a random tree in the middle of nowhere and took a picture of it xD; (see picture 1) We went into the garage to take shots for REBORN! and saw this epic-looking ray of light on a flight of stairs o.o It was on the next flight of stairs, too (see pictures 7 and 8 ) Though, we'd have to come when that ray of light is actually there, a.k.a. during the day >.<

The next stop was the Japanese Friendship Garden that Aurxlen mentioned. There were lots of people there @_@ So it was hard to take a lot of clear shots, but, well, you get the point ^^;; I THINK we got most of the points of interest in the place; the bridge, mini-waterfall, the water, the mini-tower / monument thing in the middle of the lake that's really impossible to reach without getting wet (plus it's not allowed) and the Japanese gates (stupid fence behind it >_>) Yeah, all that good stuff xD; We could've climbed over the fence by the mini-waterfall to get closer shots of it, but. . . it wouldn't've been worth it if we got caught ^^;; There was a little temple, too, but there were too many people swarming around it, so we decided to just leave it. . .

Next was the San Jose Buddhists' Temple / Church in Japantown, San Jose. There's a really nice garden next to it (pictures 2-3) and a big temple (picture 1). Unfortunately, the place was locked up for the weekend V.V (although, again, we could've just jumped the wall, but. . .) Just a little taste of giant-temple-ness? ^ - ^ ;;

We went to a few places after that, but none of them were actually as good as we'd hoped they'd be, so no pictures were taken.

Anyways, most of these places (I think the buddhists' church or the friendship garden is the farthest one. . . I know SJSU's pretty close) are within reasonable (?) distance of the convention center; the problem is more with time than distance, I think.

x3;; I think you covered everything. Didn't know you took a pic of the SJSU fountain till now though.

I'd say to sum it up nothing really works well for D.Gray better then the first area we went to since SJ lacks nice Victorian England settings. Some of the other locations would work awesomely for Reborn and Gintama (I still say that having the Reborn one at night might be an idea worth cosidering).

SJSU would be a about a five-ten minute walk from the con center at most and most everything else would probably have to be car pooled, unless public transport that led to the other locations was found nearby.

But don't we need somewhat of a permint or permission to go on the property?
since I know SJSU has summer classes and all and the others not really familiar with?

Unless there is some sort of bizarre California state law. You shouldn't need permission just to go on campus. Those are considered public domain.

Nah, it's only loitering if your standing around doing nothing, or pacing suspiciously. As long your actively taking part in legal activity, you can't get into any trouble.

Hmm.. well that's if we do use that location, and I seriously doubt it would be for this paticular group. But as long as were aren't carrying live steel/weapons and aren't causing a bother I doubt they'd mind/we'd need any sort of special permission. And like Yuu said the campus (and I assume most college campuses are since they always seem to have numerous amounts of non students on the campus as well as students) are open to the public. Unless possibly it was a private/indoor instituation, which is not what we are dealing with with SJSU ^^

I guess but I still think we should ask for permission maybe some of the student don;t know what we are doing and tell security or something just want to keep out of trouble

As for SJSU, if we used the parking lot, we'd be on the upper floors, where NO ONE goes D: Why park on the top floors if you can just park on the ground floor? Besides, no one really looks up from the ground floor, either, so chances are that no one would even SEE us there at all.

XD you can't even see if you did look up though. And since the con weekend is the graduation weekend alot of people wouldn't be there anyway.

I need to get to work on my Miranda dress for Kcon.  T_T  Which means cutting the sleeves tomorrow and seeing how they work out, which probably means digging out the ironing board because the fabric's been sitting squished in a bag since last AX, and it's a linen/rayon, which i means WRINKLY AS ALL GET OUT after sitting in there all this time.  (It's still kind of awesome stuff.  I had to dye white fabric because I couldn't find enough black, and it looks all faded and worn.  XD )

At least I have my clock key, even if I need to paint it.  The rust didn't come off nearly as well as I'd have liked.

Actually, he's my best friend. I feel a little ( just a little) bad for bitching about it because, no, I'm not paying him.

At KC I was put in charge of the yaoi/yuri 18+ party.
The issue of bringing food came up.

I told them that outside food is not allowed. I'm just fine with this. Id end up being responsible for ensuring there was enough to go around, and for the mess afterwords.

The attendees got all pissed saying  but we NEED food! We're hypoglycemic! " 
 I don't care.
I've walked out of the hospital after a kidney transplant to go to a convention without asking for any special freakin treatment and i survived ( I am immortal, but that's irrelevant)

I wanted to tell them 'go back and eat at your room if you get hungry"

The programming directer sent two of us private messages, usually something one does want they want to keep information, ya know, private.
In this message she basically said " No, you can't have food inside the convention area but if you do, I didn't see anything"

The other person went ahead and restated the Programming directer s words on the public forum and everyone started discussing what they were gonna bring. I asked them to delete all related material but could discuss it privately.

They all start up " OMG! Can we not have food? I'm mad!"  "Let's have a picnic outside!" 

So I sent them PM's trying to explain it to them..still, STILL they discuss having a picnic ( after midnight) on the public forum.

I think I was in like..5th or 6th grade when POGs were popular. It wasn't too bad when they went out of style either. I sold them all for $40. That was a lot of money for me at the time.

Heh, I do the very same thing. I don't just hate sweets, I hate junk food of all kinds. I was really sick during the Bleach shoot this year because I wouldn't eat any of the crap my roommate had.

That's okay though, according to my friends they will bring decent food from now on. Apparently, I get REALLY bitchy when I don't feel well and they don't want to deal with that again. XD

On the food subject: among my con staples are typically either a bag of pretzels or a loaf of wheat bread (or both) and peanut butter, along with some kind of nuts and occasionally dried fruit.  If it's a room with a fridge, cream cheese and things like pineapple or watermelon are nice; otherwise, apples FTW.  And if it's a con I'm driving to, I usually bring a big bottle of water -- my sister and I went through most of a 2.5 gallon one at Fanime last year.  I know I drink too much soda if I'm not paying attention, and tend to dehydrate.  (We brought homemade oatmeal cookies to Fanime also, and biscuits, and I took cookies to AX as well.)  I like having something sweet for occasional nibbling, whether it's fruit or good dark chocolate or the aforementioned cookies, and salty stuff is especially good for when you've been in too-hot areas all day and forget to eat, and peanut butter sandwiches go easily into baggies to get carried with you.

TL;DR.  I know congoers forget to eat, and I try to make sure me and mine don't.  (I suppose this is why I got nicknamed Captain Mom?  :D )

I got sleeves on my Miranda dress today.  They're not hemmed, but yay, quasi-progress!  I need to add the white collar and do the buttons up the back before I can hem the skirt, also ... gawd, I'm procrastinating so badly.  T_T  Have to get this done for Kumoricon at the end of the month, or my brother will probably disown me!  More sewing tomorrow ...

I was never into Pokemon.  I played YGO a lot though. My best friend got me into it. She literally would not let me leave until I agreed to learn.
We eventually become regulars at the card shop. Man those were the days ( 24 and reminiscing..how sad)

    I just need to get my own room. There is no one I can stand to room with for an entire weekend, and I'm sure they feel the same towards me.  Aside from that.. I''m usually fairly well prepared.

    My friend that I usually stay with miraculously does not annoy me. He just goes to bed really early and.. I actually feel bad that he has to up with my god awful temper. >_>

Eh well cons are the rare chance I get to see alot of my friends (since I have some from all over the country and out of country) and getting a room by myself is not so fun and not worth it cost wise. I could always go home but that kills a lot of the fun of the con to and would limit my cosplay a great deal as well.

I have NO dramA what so ever and I will HAVE none. People always try to drag me into it, but then I jsut pretend they don't exist.

I'm not exactly a fan of the Whole Foods ..'mentality' itself ( yuppies piss me off) but they have some decent stuff. ( I really like the fresh crepes) I really love Trader Joes though.

Whole Foods is overpriced, IMO -- which doesn't matter, as we don't have one in town.  XD  (We have a similar sort of independent grocery, though, which is also on the pricy front.  They do have some awesome stuff, though, that I usually try to pick up when it's on sale.)

Trader Joe's owns my soul.  Seriously, especially in this past year as my housemates render the kitchen unusable 98% of the time (which drives me insane, but that's another matter).  Their prices are also very reasonable for most things, which is nice.

Hmm.  I should really go grocery shopping.  But urgh, that requires dragging myself back out of the house ...  (But it'd be quieter.  Stupid neighbour's kids, I know you're having fun, but I wish you'd be quieter in the evenings -- even if it's probably karmic revenge for when I was a kid.  Blaaaaaaargh.  Right, grocery shopping, and then back to whaling on the grommets for my corset, and maybe a first coat of paint on the clock key.  I really don't want to deal with sewing today.  *flops*)

Con drama ... there's always something, whether you want it or not, because that's what happens when you get lots of people not sleeping enough in a small space.  It's just a matter of dealing with it.  Thankfully, I've only shared room space at a con with what essentially amounts to family, and I think there's more tolerance there sometimes.  I'd hate to room with random people!

Well.. running price comparsions on what I bought at Whole Foods for the con and if I bought the same at TJ's... I'd have saved very little. The thing about Whole Foods isn't so much the basics are more pricey as it has funky speciality foods (such as the nine dollar candy bar) that just makes everything seem far more pricey. I'm probably wrong though and just used to shopping at small/independent type stores (not whole foods... that's certainly not a small store).

LOL and speaking of noisy kids our neighboors have the loudest children > >;; They have to run up the staircase like a pack of elephants and.. ughh .__.;; Just really obnoxious and loud kids.

  Food- I've only been on my own for a few months so I really watch how much I spend. I can say without a doubt, that TJ is cheaper in MOST things. Like their pastas and frozen foods.  Meat is an entirely different story.

Whole Foods is actually is better for meat because yuppies are deathly afraid of germs and the second the clock hits midnight on the 'due date' they can't sell it. So it goes on sale.

It hardly matters though. I pretty much eat nothing but Japanese noodles ( Rice, wheat, ramen, cha-soba, ..pink-soba yakisoba.  It's all good) and meat and my apartment is directly above Uwajimaya ( and ramen shop ^^) Noodles and pork are CHEAP. So I only need to go elsewhere for specialty items.

Meat's pricy for the better cuts (or the leaner ones, a lot of the time) no matter where you look, unless you're either buying bulk or last-minute.  I don't eat pork (not because I was raised keeping kosher, but because I never had it growing up and thus it's too rich for me), and I'm supposed to cut back on animal fats, which knocks out beef.  T_T  That means fish and chicken, mostly, and once it cools down, tofu (because I don't really like it outside of soups), and some dairy as far as protein goes.

Most chain grocery stores do the same sort of thing with putting meat on sale when the sell-by dates approach.  That and the normal sales are the best way to buy that stuff.

I really like cooking, honestly -- I'm looking forward to the end of September, because then I move and can dictate how messy or clean the kitchen in my new place will be.  AND HAVE SEWING SPACE.  I DEMAND IT.  Especially because, after Kcon, I will have entirely too many cosplay projects to get cracking on for next year.  (See, this is me cleverly trying to be on topic!)

Ah wel lthe stuff here is not 'the better cuts'. That's why it's mainly used for chopping up with noodles and sauce, which is all I want it for.

What are you using for your Lero heads?  o.O  I did mine out of felt both times -- would've probably used another heavier fabric like fleece, but the selection in town is overpriced crap and felt worked well enough.  (Only did two -- the second because I found a proper parasol. :D )

Currently, I'm using paper mache, with a styrofoam base D: Cuz I'm too afraid that I'll warp the shape if I use anything else >.<

I HATE my hair. I can't do ANYTHING  with it. It doesn't even look normal.

I have'...as I say 'Byakuya' syndrome. My bangs always separate into strands that sit right in front of my face. I can't see anything on my left side it makes me paranoid when people walk on that side.

WORST of all, it makes my hair look dirty.
EVERY TIME I see my grandma the first words out of her mouth are " What do you have in your hair?!" and EVERY TIME  I tell her "NOTHING NOT A DAMNED THING! IT JUST DOES THIS!!"

She keeps insisting that it doesn't and that I just don't wash it like I'm some filthy slob.

THEN she say's " I liked your hair when it was nice and long and thick"  Like it's MY fault. I HAD to cut it off! I really, REALLY did not want to.

She doesn't need to make it worse. I can spend three hours trying to fix my hair and it never ever looks decent. It's very VERY frustrating enough as it is.

Oh, and if you run into a knife, you will have a very interesting story to tell people and would have to wear an eye patch. You could say your a pirate.

I actually did hit my eye once @_@ badly enough to do hospital-worthy damage, anyways. I wore a gauze pad over my right eye for weeks @_@ Not to mention an extra week of rehabilitation to stabalize my eyesight D:

I will say that is the one thing I do really like about Kubo's style; the bad guys are always defeated in a creative way. Usually it's their own fault.

Yuu, you could try looking for something like carnelian beads or the like?  I don't remember what the bracelet looks like, but if it's something like a Buddhist prayer bracelet, those are pretty easy to find, I'd think.

Nah, I don't have any pictures but I can describe it. The bracelet as a yellow tassle on it and the beads are roseword. Color caries from light wood-color to dark reddish brown.

Hmm.  Rosewood would be on the harder side to find -- have you considered looking for unfinished wooden beads and just painting them?  Most craft stores carry either those or some other kind of wooden bead that might work well enough -- at worst, you can lightly sand down an extant finish.
I didn't realise they were wood -- I was thinking of a standard Buddhist prayer bracelet, and a lot of those that you see are semi-precious gemstone.

The ones that I found ARE rosewood.
I have considered that, but I wouldn't want something so cheap. I love bracelets so I want something I can keep.

I'm no 100% on real Buddhist prayer beads being wood or gems but I was told wood. Besides,wood is much cheaper.

I work for a medical device company.  I work with engineers.  I think that says a great deal all by itself.  :D

On the other hand, I get some awesome stuff here because we're scrapping it out or whatever.  Got a bag full of these bippy little disposable scalpels at home that are good for a variety of cosplay things, I never have to worry about having latex/vinyl gloves, and I've made lanyards out of scrap catheters for fun.  Now I just need to figure out how to use them for cosplay ...

(But I should really finish up Kcon projects first.  Sigh.)

I hate them too. I have a seriously crazy pain tolerance, but out of everything burns hurt the WORST.  Ugh..and the peeling and blisters..nasty.

I LOVE  hot weather enough that I'll deal with the burns.
Besides, it isn't like I didn't have any sun screen, or even forgot to apply it. I just..didn't so I can't complain.

It probably depends on where you live. In Cali you almost never get snow right? here it is ALWAYS  raining so I'm grateful for the occasional decent summer.

I want to move back to Seattle so very badly.  T_T  Granted, I left there when I was three, but I maintain that was enough time for me to decide that is good weather -- either that, or my Eastern European blood makes me curl up and die with heat.  Probably both.  (It is after midnight and I'm lying here in a tank top and shorts with the fan going because it's still too hot for me.  That says something -- as does the fact that it's less warm than the last house I lived in, where it would still be between eighty-five and ninety at this hour.)  It snows here about every five to ten years, and when I say "snows" I mean that it gets cold enough in the mountains that snow comes down and maybe lasts for, at most, two or three days.  Santa Barbara is smack-dab between mountains and ocean, so the weather is seldom cold enough for that, and our mountains are lower.  (I can drive to the beach in ten minutes, and I'm at the foothills, for perspective.)  Of course, it actually rains (as opposed to occasional bits of drizzle) about every three years, and we always get floods and mudslides with that.  FAIL.

I hate hot, but I hate sunburns more.  I swam competitively for most of my childhood and up into high school, and I had my fill of burns there.  (And then, my first Ren Faire, forgot that seldom-exposed cleavage would burn like the dickens scorched my chest and shoulders quite nicely.)  However, I do miss having a tan.  :\

I also miss having time and being productive.  Come back, motivation, come back!

Back on the topic of weather it's gray ad crappy now. Last night there was hugenormous thunderstorm felt like a damned Earthquake.I thought the house was gonna collapse on me ( this house is very, very old and shitty)

Well I'm only around usually when it's not uni time for me, and most of uni time for me has much cooler weather despite what others have said about me getting tired of it I haven't and won't. Most other Californian's will whine even when it's high 60's about how cold it is : / The weather for the most part this summer actually has been suprisingly nice (for the season) with only eight or ten days of 90 plus degree weather and many record lows in the low 70's.

As for the time I like it. XD;; and it so far it seems to accomadate all the main thread goers well enough. Make it later in the evening and I imagine it will interefere with other gatherings, plus I don't want to have to rush back and forth all day to different gatherings.

Well, we were aiming for a bit earlier on Sunday so that people going to the D.Gray-man gathering can also attend the Shonen JUMP gathering later that day, which, in my opinion, makes more sense, considering DGM IS actually an SJ manga. . . (Advanced, but whatever xP)

Hi guys! I plan on cosplaying as Miranda in her Exorcist uniform and hope to attend the gathering. :)

Updated. ^^ Uhhhh Miranda's only had one uniform so far, right? ^^;; That's been shown in the manga/anime? *brainfart*

I only watch the anime, and she currently only has one uniform here. She probably has a new one in the manga, though.

Apparently that 'code red' that i was declaring over rated was not..so much. Lightening sparked fires all over eastern WA. Good thing I don't live there!

I'm playing Samurai Warrios now. That game is a billion times harder. ex if the castle your in is on fire it actually does cut down your time by 1o whole minutes. I found this out the hard way. >_<

I am very disappointed by the lack of art books.
It used to be that every anime which had more than handful of fans had it's own art book or five. As of late I have not seen many at all.
There are none for D Gray man and I've only seen one for bleach. BLEACH! How messed up is that!?

I think.. there are two or three Bleach books according to one of my friends. And.. yeah there sure could be alot more but maybe the mangaka's just don't want to invest the time into it, doesn't like Hoshino really can even if she wanted to sadly. I'd also love a Reborn! art book.

If I could have one artbook, it would be the Trinity Blood one.  You cannot find the actual thing these days, however, just the HK knockoffs, and that makes Charis a very sad panda.

I am losing impetus to cosplay D.Gray, though I'm sure Kumori will rekindle that.  However, it makes me sad as well.  Sigh.  Motivation, come back!

Other con news but AE is moving to the Vancouver Convention Center **;; I really want to go next year, it will be right in between Fanime and AX and will have nice weather. And the area is like the area around Fanime cept even better.

Kumoricon was rather..boring for the most part.

It definitely did have it moments.

I got to fullfill my dream of killing Haruhi S..whatever. You could not even begin to imagine how happy that made me.

Alright so comments on the new chapter anyone? C: The color page sure is useful reference for anyone doing the third uniform versions of the characters. Otherwise just a lot of discussion over Cross, nothing to interesting imo.

I commented to someone that I am very glad Miranda was not in that colour page.  Keeps distractions down. :3  But it'll make things easier for people who are working on the new outfits -- less questions on coscom about references, I'm sure.  (I wish I'd been with my Seattle family when the chapter came out, considering Tige and Kaasan's bantering about Cross.  "Stuffed and mounted on a wall!"  "No body, therefore not dead."  Hehehe.)

I wish the chapters would come out faster.

I seriously doubt he's dead... I'm pretty suprised central has someone strong enough to do that kind of damage to him in the first place though.

The chapter gave me a few more possiblities to cosplay actually but I want to kind of cut back on cosplay and devote more money to gifts and other things really.

It looks like Hoshino is back to weekly releases in anycase which is good. Now once October rolls around and HxH is back things should be pretty excellent overall, as long as Psyren doesn't get cut as well .__.;;

I started a Japanese class this quater. I'm doing my damndest to hide my affiliation  to the anime-world.

We had to go in front of class and put together words using the hiragana we had learned. Since I'm a covert ninja, I just went with something simple 'ame'.

Sensei responded 'hai, rain..and soem of you may like it but.."

I despise rain so I replied 'Daikiraida" which I specifically learned form Kanda telling Skin he hated candy.

and she replied.." Oh good. It bad for your teeth"

I just stared blankly until she explained " ah! You dunno? 'Ame' is also 'candy' you just said " I hate candy' 

XD  Oh coinicedence.

Hello, everyone, sorry for my overall TOTAL DEADNESS for the last many weeks. . .

Anyways, please tell me which character you are planning to cosplay and/or show up at the gathering in, so I can put you down on the list without being totally confused out of my mind @_@ From now on, I will attempt to run this thread and the Gintama one full-time while doing my homework (<--- not a good thing)

Also, JJ-tan, maybe we could meet and work on a giant gathering sign when Fanime gets closer? Just in case, you know, so people can see it from the fountains because, as mentioned, the area directly around the fountains is very crowded and, in my opinion, a definite do-not-want for photo-taking purposes. . . we will be using the little forest-y area beside the con center entrance (hopefully).

I am a definite maybe at this point -- my attendance at this gathering is contingent on so many other factors I can't even guess if I'll able to make it.  If I do show up, it will be as pre-exorcist Miranda.
On the other hand, that cosplay is completely done, so that's something. :3

He is still my favorite character and don't think for a second that I wouldn't be the best damned Kanda there-BUT my jackass friend  ( ya know, the jackass who just bougth me a new computer for no reason) has taken FAR too long and nearly half the people in the Sakura con group are going as him in his second outfit, which means there will be even more by Fanime.

I keep getting in trouble cuz my teacher thinks I'm rude. It's her faullt.

I'm used to ending sentences with 'da' ( rather than 'desu') and she always tells me " only boys say 'da' ( which is bullshit)
So it throws me off and  I forget to use 'desu' and end my sentenes with the subject apparently that's worse than 'da'.

She also heard me muttering " Tsuki janai" ( I don't wanna")

Even more, she says my accent make me sound bored. Which is also rude, apparently.

Also, I hate being in front of class so I forget what I'm supposed to say and look dumber than fucking Lavi.  So she never calsl on me. Ever.

Either it's becuase she knows I'll fuck up, or she knows that I already know it and just get nervous.

It's sad that people would rather take pictures of characters they like, regardless if they are cosplaying terribly or not. Glad to see some people cosplay for quaulity and love of character rather then attention whoring which is oh so common at most every con.

It is sad. My former roomate really likes Crowley. She wanted to cosplay as him. Yea, she is tiny and cute and he is..not. But she is very good at looking like whoever she goes as. I was very sad when she went for Rhoad instead. She doesn't even like Rhoad. Also, there are a many Rhoads  and ...NO Crowleys.

My biggest problem at conventions, is not so much popular costumes, rather shitty costumes with shitty but giant props.

We had one at Sakuracon '07 too.  I haven't seen one since, though -- Crowley cosplayers seem few and far between.

I lied about the portion of  'can I pull it off"  I'm actually very self conscious ( I look REALLY old and I fucking HATE it)  I wasn't going to as young Byakuya until my friend said " OMG DO IT" and then " after all you can't look worse than THESE" and showed me just really, REALLY 'do not want' cosplayers.
Since then, I've been a bit more lenient because I know 'there is ALWAYS someone worse"
Secondly, I do look okay in RL i just seem to be cursed in the 'photogenic' area.

As for the relationship crap; don't ask me. I have never ever been in a serious relationship ( is 24) and I still have nodesire to. Just never been one of my priorities.

I have the same problem with my Japense teacher. She says everything like this: ( ex from actual excerize)

I keep looking on front page hoping the time change XD but its still at 10 A.M.

I like 10AM, gives me time to work in afternoon and later afternoon cosplay if need be without wildly rushing around.

The morning time doesn't bother me -- I'm lucky to sleep in past eight even when I've been up crazy-late, just because my blasted internal clock screams, "YOU'RE LATE FOR WORK GET UP GET UP GET UP!!!"  Also, Miranda's a ridiculously lazy and easy cosplay for me.  OTOH, I'm still not sure how time is shaping up for me with cosplay distribution, so don't know yet.

There had been some amazeing D-gray-man cosplay at Fanime '08.
I'm really looking forward to see all your wonderful cosplay at '09!!!

Some of us have to sleep.  Blame it on my advanced age.  ;P

(That, or the fact that I have to drive five hours to get home after con and go to work the next day.  That definitely puts a damper on things.)

I don't want to cram a possible three cosplays a day in increments of less then at least two hours between needing to switch.

I agree with Hirotona. I don't really sleep in at cons because I'm too excited. :)

Yea if I sleep at all at cons, I'm awake up by 8am at latest.

Sleep isn't required if you can perfect the method of the 4 day sugar/adrenaline high.

  Apparnetly due to health problems.

It doesn't require a lot of physical strength to create a manga, buuut  according to my friend you don't talk about health issues in Japan ( wish I lived there >_<)  so it COULD  be serious. It could also..not be.

A lot of D Gray is based on religion, history ect. It's common knowladge.

I'm writing a paper on the history and sybolism of the Lotus for a class
It seems Hoshino has even done her homework here too.

In all of these religions it's the symbol of immotality through rebirth because it never truly dies. They can lie dormat under forzen ground for ceturies ( how else would they be planted underwater?)

A major part of study on the Lotus, are attempts to kill them. 
Scientisst have even exposed them to radiation for days at a time and they survived.
In the end it will be Cockraoches and Lotus.
It's fitting, since Lotus are sacred for their ability to bloom in the darkest, nastiest, reaches of hell. ( It is Asia/mideast's version of 'pandoras box")
They're are even attempts to apply Lotus DNA to corn and rice to make the world's food supply less 'killable'.

Apparently, some even bloom at night and close during the day, an act that defies the ideas of time and physics of nature.

Random note: It is also the symbol Egyptions used for '1,000 because they supposedly have 1,000 petals.

Some of you may or may not know, depending on whether you've seen B's list of gatherings SO FAR, but there is someone else running the gathering over on cosplay.com. Luckily, I'm acquainted with her, so it won't be nearly as strange. However, what we're currently trying to figure out is this: Is 10 AM maybe too early? Right now, we're thinking of changing it to 1 PM, but I wanna know what you guys think.

I like early, but that's in part because later in the day almost certainly has scheduling conflicts for me.  :3

Yes, 10 AM is preferred by me, personally, because I know there are many gatherings scheduled on Sunday, and, if our gathering is any later, it would:

1) put people on the spot to decide which gathering they want to attend and, possibly
2) draw people away from our gathering

I personally organize this gathering because it's a great way to meet people who share the same love of the series as you do. But, if people who actually like the series don't come to the gathering, then that ruins the point. At least, that's what I think. This is all just coming from my perspective, guys.

Well you're right on all counts so xD;; Nothing to worry about really ^^ You were the only one gathering people in the first place for most of the time till recently anyway, so I think what you say should go (besides the fact it makes the most sense).

The chances of me attending it (in Cross cosplay) will be very slim if the time changes. I see on the forums she confirmed the late time, I'd suggest going on ahead as we originally planned anyway.

Makes perfect sense to me, Yamaneko.  And scheduling is always a headache, goodness knows.  I'd dearly love to be able to make the D.Gray meet this coming year since I missed last year's, and there are always fun people there.  If I can't make it in D.Gray cosplay, I'll still try my damndest to stop by all the same.  But after about 10:30, 11:00, I'm not sure how viable that'll be for me as Miranda -- unfortunately, she's closer to the bottom of my cosplay list for Fanime. :(

There's a lot timewise that seems to be hinging on what day the Masquerade is.  With Fanime five months off, maybe it's better to pencil in a tentative time with some degree of alternate and leave it at that until the Masq day comes down?  I'm sure there'll be some mad scrambling rescheduling at that point anyway.

A possible solution would be to have "two" D.Gray-man gatherings; one at 10 AM, and another 1 PM, one of which will probably have to be unofficial. . . However, this expands the choices for people who want to come, but can't due to scheduling. Of course, just having two times won't solve anything, and people become confused as to which is the "real" DGM gathering. . . both will be real, of course, just that one will be unofficial. As such, the two gatherings would go separate ways.

Hi everyone, this is Inuashley from the cosplay.com forums. ^^ I have been notified by myalchod of the situation of conflicting scheduling, so I proposed to have one gathering(I guess you could call this the "official" one, which will be posted on the gathering list) at 10am, for those of you who can't make it to a later gathering, and then another one at 1pm for those of you who would rather not get up so early, or a later time is better for you.

It takes alot to be the only one doing a particular cosplay. You either have to do something really obscure or very, very complicated, or both.

You can still stand out among the other people cosplaying the same character if you try to make it the best (good construction, details, etc. be an uber perfectionist) or do an interpretation (add some personal flair).

Don't give up just because other people are doing it. =)

Yea, I do that a lot. Kumoricon I was Young Byakuya ( manga) and bloody street Kanda. Few people got either costumes.

I know it sounds really arrogant but I dont like fangirls. I dont want to be surrounded by "OMG I like Kanda the best ect"

Mostly I told the person who was supposed to make my costume a year ago " I want to have it before it gets popular and every fangirls and thier mother cosplays him."

Looks like I have to withdraw my Kanda this year due to budget constraints, and wander off in search of cheaper meadows.

I look forward to seeing everyone's cosplays though!

  Two-Still havent really decided which top I want that really long one, or the very short one he has in the most recent manga.  I can probabaly buy the short one  but for about three times what its worth.
While the longer one isnt difficult to make, it would require my friend getting off his ass for more than two seconds. Thats NOT going to happen.

Pants- Agaian, not hard to make but time consuming ( more than two seconds)

Lastly- Black 'paint' that wont smudge all over EVERYTHING.

I got my wig today and its only slightly longer thany own hair >_< ( about half as long as Kands) sooo sick of this shit you gahs.

Are you trying to do hair-up or hair-down Kanda?  because if it's the former, and you can find yourself a pack or two of straight extensions to match the wig, can probably fake Kanda hair.  Down ... I don't have any wigs that'd work offhand, sorry.

I was going to put it up, but that will make it even shorter.
The problem is ther color is a mix of blue and black. Thats why its short in the first place. Apparently Paul couldnt find anything longer in that color.

While it won't be terribly thick, a pack of these will give you a decent ponytail.  (I would've suggested the Ivy for Kanda, but they're all out of it in the Midnight Blue, which is the colour you want.)  Just a thought.
