My barracks room on the island: note how tiny it is. not pictured today is the fair sized bathroom/head or the kitchen area or my suprisingly big closet. just noticed the big old entertainment center isnt visible either. later maybe?

walking into my room.

the bed type area. where I do my bedding, and bed-centric sleeping. bed-ified?

the only part of the room thats really 'home':

toys!

the desk portion where I do my studying (yeah right) and my nerding, but we dont have net in the rooms:

and the room if you are standing infront of the sliding glass door (that leads to my patio) the door on the left is my closet:

you are right!

Your mother is rather disreputable in all her dealings to the point that those privy to this information are wary of conducting business with her!

Your mother is so clinically obese and unattractive as to be unpleasant to the eyes!

all the 'hell no' replies really made this thread for me.

Inspired by a friend asking me what I wanted to be when I was a kid (thus the kindergarten cop title!):

I know a lot of you are still going to school right now, now is a good time to start putting in job applications for the summer, but there are a few of us working stiff types on here. How do YOU pay for all that great swag at fanime? Maybe you have a cool job with a certain 'circus' that you have yet to hook me up with tickets for, as an example (seriously, wtf. I asked like a million years ago!)

Anyways, tell us all about what it is you do! If you are in school tell us what you study and what you hope to be. For bonus points all your working types tell us what you wanted to be as a kid.

Me? I wanted to be a racecar driver. I think at one point I wanted to be some sort of special forces guy, like Solid Snake.

I think just about everyone knows I ended up joining the Navy as an Air Traffic Controller. Basically I'm learning how to keep planes from plowing into each other so that you all get where you need to go alive.

This is where I do my Airing, my traffic-ing, and a little bit of controlling at about 5 stories up in a giant fishbowl.

From inside the fishbowl: thats not me sitting there, I'm the guy holding the camera!

So what do I actually do all day? Not a whole hell of a lot. I sit with my feet up mostly. Right now Im working on a ground qualification... before you can try and separate planes in the sky it helps to be able to keep them from running into each other on the ground. Planes don't have a reverse oddly enough so its best to make sure you don't have any meet another one face to face or you get a 'mexican standoff' and that would suck.

After thats out of the way Im moving to radar final controller. Thats the guy who talks to the pilot while hes coming in for an instrument landing. He wants to know if hes too high or low, left or right of course, and when its a good time to touchdown. following that theres arrival controller, the job most people think of for controllers, who sits infront of a scope with the rotating sweep. And of course Local who controls planes in the sky that enter the airspace and want to putz around.

Why did I pick this job? The money mostly. When I get out I can make as much as 6 figures. Thats enough to eat con food for the whole weekend!

I think I get it now... try this one on for size!

I feel that the female that bore and raised you lacks the hygiene to be considered socially acceptable. Further more, she should be very concerned about her increasing body mass index. Perhaps both issues are tied to her habitual infidelity?

I hope that wasn't too harsh and take it over the line, if I did I apologize.

Your favorite book is a thesaurus right?

Im just not very good at making fun of people's mothers, I guess. I think its a little disrespectful and I dont think half the things said about them is true. I think its more about saying hurtful things about someone a person cares about to make them upset.

I think it was rude enough, and I was just glad I wasn't married. Seriously I think they are scraping the bottom of the barrel trying to come up with fortunes nowadays.

for some reason, that TOTALLY reminds me of something out of FULL METAL ALCHEMIST for some reason...

when I look at that, I thought it was the design on Alucard's gloves from Hellsing.

Its the Judgment Ring from Shadow Hearts. The judgment ring rules over everything in the universe, but mostly (at least in the game) it has to do with luck and timing. In the second game it establishes itself as sort of a deity in itself appearing time to time to offer a bit of guidance, though it seems to be sensitive to criticism.

Youll notice that on the east and west points there is a devil and an angel, a balance of good and evil, and of course the stars and constellations the earth moon and earth, all the things which the ring dominates.

At the center is a tree that I believe represents the protagonist, having been stabbed and thus cursed by a relic known as 'the mistletoe' which is why there is a heart at its center. In the game you see this tree in the dreamworld that represents Yuri's inner being, complete with a representation of himself trapped in it.

I like this symbol very much, its my background on my laptop actually. Im also a fan of the games obviously. I think we all find a character from one series or another we can totally relate to, and for me thats Yuri. One of the other aspects of the Shadow Hearts games is that of the two endings you can get, the 'bad' ending is the true ending. Its really sad, he has the power to slay gods (they call him that, godslayer) transform into the most powerful demon in the world, pretty much the power to do anything he wants... except be with the woman he loves (hell he even tried to bring her back from the dead, which lasted mere seconds). The only way he could be with her is in death... and in the 'bad' ending (remember what I said about endings and this game series) instead of joining her he simply loses his memories of her, the thing that he clung to most and the reason why in the good ending he sacrifices his own life rather than lose them.

Im working on doll versions, because slowly but surely Id like to put them back on the train together where Yuri was happiest. I think he deserves it.

This started off as kind of a hidden journal, I started keeping it a little while after I got settled in here in Florida.

As most of you know Im stationed at a Naval Air Station, this journal is sort of a chronicle of my experiences here... actually its mostly me whining and complaining. I am going to be starting class soon though so eventually it'll get more interesting. And of course theres plenty of my own personal issues discussed, my ongoing battle with depression (don't tell on me!) and so on.

The username is a play on the term 'Pushing Tin' which is slang for Air Traffic control and 'Broken' which is a nod towards how screwed up I am.

Enjoy! http://brokentin.livejournal.com/
