It seems quite fitting for an epic event at the Gurren Lagann gathering though. If there is interest in it (heck I'm interested in it but I suck at eating spicy things), then it can be an event after photos (wouldn't want anyone fat before pictures right hehe). Well first thing first is to have a larger cosplayer list than this... but hey we'll see.

We have plenty of time to plan this thing but I am digging that suggestion (oh bad Gurren Lagann pun is bad but the opportunity struck).

Oh man that would be funny if they played the second movie at the same time just like last year XD Hopefully the panel organizers will look at the gathering list and see it shouldn't be near the GL cosplay time slot.

"Hellfire Challenge?" I assume it's spicy chicken wings and you gobble as much as you can until you are about to pass out? That'd be a pretty manly challenge haha. Maybe we can buy a bunch and have a contest? It'd be neat.

I definitely think it is an improvement. There are a few font size and color changes I would do personally but it's just my humble opinion/suggestions.

For example, I would make:

Cosplayer Gatherings/Events Submission Guidelines:

bigger to stand out as a title. Yeah, it's bolded and underlined but it's the title. Titles should really, REALLY stand out.


Also, I would make the steps a bit bigger too so it stands out compared to the text in each section:

#1 Make sure your 1st post on your thread contains the following:

#2 ONLY the organizer sends me a pm with the info. Posting in the thread only lists you as unofficial.

#3 Each organizer MUST check in to the cosplayer gatherings table 10 minutes prior to their gathering/event. DO NOT send someone else to the table because you will be on my list not them. The table is located on the first floor of the convention center.

As for the lettered steps in step number 2, I would change it in a different color since it's a step within a step so it isn't confused with the three original, "important" steps. But I don't think it's necessary if you make the original steps (like in my second suggestion in this reply) bigger.

*rubs chin* I was planning to do some type of pokemon gijinka next Fanime so if the timing of the gathering is right, I may tag along. :)

It was greatly organized and the boards around the area really helped when I forgot when a gathering was. I don't really have much to say other than it was done swimmingly awesome. Keep up the good work. :)

As for organizers not coming to the table, I suggest making that particular statement stand out more in the third post. Not to be a prude but a lot of people probably think your posts are tl;dr so they may just skim that part over even if it's in bold and underlined. The third post in particular has lots of things underlined and bolded so I think you should change it up so things stand up more. I would keep a consistent name for the organizer person instead of having "gathering organizer/thread overseer &/or cosplayer event organizer." Yeah, they may be different people for every single thing but underlining all that defeats the purpose of emphasizing that part when a good majority of the sentence is underlined.

It did? Awesome. If the people who brought that car come again, it'd be perfect! I wasn't personally there when the car was parked yet (since I practically ran past the gathering last year to do the Anime Vice panel) so if it happens next year, uber-awesome. :)

I'm planning to bring a cd/radio/some type of sound system to play the soundtracks that is packaged with the LE DVD Part 3. I think there should be some bumping music dontcha think?

@Neo-Zaku: I'm really happy that you made the gathering last Fanime. It would have been uber disappointing if there wouldn't be one because TTGL is so big and yet there may not have been a gathering in the first place. So thanks! :) And I love your sign <3.

@Barnes: There are plenty of minor characters you can cosplay as.

That was a really cute post. This reminds me of my first time at Fanime (I only went a day that time...) and it really is a lovely break from "real life" things. I hope you enjoy yourself next year and go to more cons :)

But definitely save up for it. It's my senior year in high school last Fanime and it was difficult to save money because of senior stuff.

I absolutely without a doubt loved the Swap Meet more. I didn't sell as much as I wanted to but I sold enough to make me content. While walking around on Thursday's Swap Meet, I got Yuki Nagato nendoroid AND figma figures for only $20 total! And they're legit too~ I was happy to say the very least.

The Dealers' Room was okay. I got some Gurren Lagann stuff and random plushies but they're just things I'd normally get online anyway so it was decent-ish. The only "deal" I liked was getting the GL keychains/phone charms 3 for $10.

And even though it wasn't an option on this poll but I liked the Artist Alley more then the Dealers' Room. There were tons of prints I wanted to get but I didn't have the budget (or wall space) so I ended up getting one print and one original water colored piece. Both are gorgeous~

Did you guys like having the gathering at 4:30 on Saturday? Not that it is set in stone yet, but I'd like opinions on what day/time we should get the gathering. I thought the gathering for Fanime 2009 was quite nicely sized for that particular day/time.

I'll start editing the list above with potential people and corresponding characters.

I really liked the lanyards too. While I was picking up my press badge, I got a clip. I just transferred the previous year's lanyard because it's more convenient to have when wearing cosplay (easier to remove/put back on for pictures).

Basically, just ask your fellow users here if you have pics (or video) of your cosplay from 2009 in this thread. Put down the character you cosplayed, what series he/she/it is from, and what day(s) you wore it. It's also good if you add some type of reference shot of yourself in the cosplay but that's not mandatory.
If you see someone you took a pic/video of, go ahead and post again (or PM each other) to let the user know where they may see the pics/video so they can feel the love. <3

I cosplayed as Yoko (Gurren Lagann) on Saturday. Picture of how I look like here. (That's a really bad picture but whatever)

My friend cosplayed as loli-Naruto on Saturday and Sunday. She looks like this.

Some people from Anime Vice did some video stuff for the con and it shall be up. If you got a business card from Gia, chances are you might be in a video. I'll let you all know if you're in it (well that's if you post on this thread and show a picture of yourself hehe). The videos will be up in the upcoming weeks.
