need i say more? :P you can post you wild fantasies here, but i would perfer if it was kept within reason. (such as, say, no bands that have broken up. :P)
i think you all know who i want. <3
Someone from either Hello!Project or Johnny's Ent.
Hmm... Having Hayashibara Megumi back (I still remember her from '99) would be kinda cool.
I also wouldn't mind seeing more J-Rock. (Not sure if this is reasonable or not, but...) Moi dix Mois springs to mind.
And also, Gackt...
>>
<<
>>
Okay so that last one is a bit of a stretch...
As far as artists or writers go, Obata Takeshi (Death Note and Hikaru no Go) and maybe Ken Akamatsu. That would be pretty cool.
Moi Dix Mois would be cool, OOOH KAMIJO BRING HIM BACK <33333 and well
PLASTIC TREE!!!!!
:3 as for manga-ka i suggest still Mitsukazu Mihara
I'VE.
That is all.
More video game industry people...
representatives from Square Enix would rock!
Matt Greenfield would be cool
Bring back Sean (For the Eva panel)
I'll think of more... ^_^
UVERworld!!!!!!!!!!
And if EVEN REMOTELY POSSIBLE, Gazette!
MORE SEIYUU~~
Had a blast with Mizushima san and Sanada san this year so I would really love to see/meet more seiyuu at Fanime.
Seiyuu suggestions:
- Suwabe Junichi (http://www.haikyo.or.jp/PROFILE/man/11470.html) - Atobe Keigo (Prince of Tennis), Greed (FMA), Fuuma (X TV), etc - My favorite seiyuu! He even understands English! And he is the King of Dorkage. <3
- Suzuki Tatsuhisa (http://www.imenterprise.jp/data.php?id=45) - No. 1 (Cluster Edge), Ishii (DEAR BOYS), Pearl (Saint Beast), sang OP for Sukisho! (Just a Survivor) and ED for Tide-Line Blue (VOICE) - Such a funny/dorky guy! He hosts the radio show Shuuei Gakuen Otome Kenkyuubu (aka Otoken) with Suwabe. Hilarious stuff! Not to mention he's a real cutie~
- Suzumura Kenichi (http://www.artsvision.co.jp/data.php?id=590) - Shinn (Gundam SEED DESTINY), Kamui (X TV), Dietrich (Trinity Blood), Hikaru (Ouran Koukou Host Club), etc - SuzuKen luv

Gackt would be cool. Id die and go to heaven if that happened. He does own a place down in Los Angeles so its not quite as large a stretch as some others but yeah... I have seen clips of him goofing off around LA and popping into KROQ down there. So Ill keep my fingers crossed with ya.

Being the Panels Ninja Ill try to work on getting Sean back for that panel. I know a few people in the game industry from several companies. Would there be an interest in more Video Game Industry releated panels? We are getting running early on stuff so if people really want that start up a post over in the Panels section. Particularly for Square-Enix, those guys are a tid bit hard to get ahold of.
just you watch. i am going to end up writing an entire 5-paragraph essay on why we need amano tsukiko at fanimecon 2007. :P
and i will drag in others. we WILL have her this next time. we will. just you watch...
Let's bring back mothercoat and Swinging Popsicle. =333 I miss them so much....
Ayumi Hamasaki for musicfest..??
Oh yea.. if Hell froze over..hehe
CLAMP?? please??? I know they're going to AX, but can we have them at Fanime, too??
-Hiro-X (sp?)
-Robin Williams
-Santa Claus
more later.................
Quote from: "hellangel"CLAMP?? please??? I know they're going to AX, but can we have them at Fanime, too??
Go to AX, strategically cover them and surround them with fanime advertisements. pray they come. XD
I'd like to see more guests in general, but specifically, the people I'd truly love to see are all well beyond our current reach.
Quote from: "hellangel"CLAMP?? please??? I know they're going to AX, but can we have them at Fanime, too??
The fact that they are going to AX is something of a hell froze over kind of thing to begin with.
My list of "If we get any of them I would die happy" guests would be:
Music:
-Gackt
-Janne Da Arc
-ZZ
-Orange Range
Artists:
-Oh Great!
-Ken Akamatsu
-Tite Kubo
-Koge Donbo
-Kouta Hirano
-Yashiro Nightow
Seiyuu:
-Seki Tomokazu
-Koyasu Takahito
-Aya Hisakawa
Jenny Rom
Naoki Maeda (sp?)
Dave Rodgers (sp?)
Mauro Farina
Reps from Avex Trax
(Get the picture?)
I'd like to see mothercoat and swinging popsicle make a return as well as zz.
I really wish we had a larger webcomic presence at fanime. Seems like fanime isn't friendly towards webcomic artists (or so I heard) Snafu-Dave was an awesome guest and I think he ended up doing 4 panels in total. I'd love for fanime to bring over Bleedman as his art is awesome. Can we somehow get Megatokyo back here to fanime? PLEASE?!? Ian from machall is now in the bay, can we bring him as well?
It would be nice to see some Eurobeat artists perform in-concert, like:
Dave Rodgers
Domino
Niko "Night of Fire"
Franz Tornado and the Bazooka Girls (various ParaPara songs)
even MOVE for the Initial D fans would be cool! 8)
the REAL reason why we need amano at fanime. <3 (http://video.tinypic.com/player.php?v=zm06mp)
i mean, imagine if you walked into music fest, and you saw *that* level of insanity. <3
hmm.. smoking has really taken a toll on her voice. ._. her live performances are usually better than that one~~

As I said in a older post, id love to ask the Snafu guys back. Dave and his crew were great. Again, I took the suggestions back in the panel one on webcomics to heart and will work on it. =}
I'd like to see Synectics or even Dacco or Isabelle either one of the synectics band. Mana, I'm going to see in about a month so I'm happy with that. Asian Kung-fu Generation, FLOW or hell M-Flo. But I rather see Dacco or Isabelle :P
oh my god i would WALK to fanime for m-flo.
but onto realistic suggestions:
- UVERworld
- Konami people.. =b (Naoki was mentioned earlier)
Quote from: "joshness"I'd like to see mothercoat and swinging popsicle make a return as well as zz.
It's doable, but we'd like to expand our horizons and give other bands a chance to showcase their stuff. Afterall, if we just brought back camino and ZZ this year, you wouldn't have seen mothercoat or Swinging Popsicle!
QuoteCan we somehow get Megatokyo back here to fanime? PLEASE?!? Ian from machall is now in the bay, can we bring him as well?
Fred Gallagher expressed his disinterest in attending further west coast conventions. He reassured us that he will only attend the cons on the east coast after having to shuffle his things across the country. Can't say I blame him.

oh yeah, big stretch , you have to go through like 9823465091823465902786 people to get to him XD
i talked to the girl at the jpophouse booth and she said that would probably never happen.
even if he does own a place in LA all he does in America is Dear concerts (>.> Damn them all... XD)
personally i don't think he would cause he wouldn't be able to have a big enough concert =/ (ever see his lives? XD)
get kagrra! chea!
lol
Great. Tony saw that I was reading this thread and now he's researching bands for next year's MusicFest. Instead of writing his 10 page paper that's due tomorrow. Rawr.

One thing to note, Gackt does pretty much whatever he wants. If something strikes his fancy, he will do it regardless of what is involved. As far as production, I have seen bits of some of his non broadcast shows and his Asia gigs. He, like most big production acts, has a scaled down stage for different venues. Even within japan, not all venues are the Tokyo Dome. Its actually more likely that if he ever did something up here it would actually be a smaller show like his Dears shows.
I still really vote for Janne Da Arc. They put on an electrifying show and have kick butt music.

And no, not that American I've stuff. The one that's from overseas.
If not I've...
Horie Yui(This one is a self-explanatory...)
Noto Mamiko (I want to hear a live Karanui before I die. Nodoka [Negima], Enma Ai [Jigoku Shoujo])
Tamura Yukari (If not Nanoha [Nanoha], then Talim [Soul Calibur])
Mizuki Nana (Where's the love? Fate [Nanoha], Hinata [Naruto])
Shimizu Ai (Karen [Onegai Twins], Mikoto [Mai-Hime], Ren [DearS])
Just to name a few.

Please. No Naoki. We don't need to hear letternumberletter again. (I'd go to MusicFest for Red Zone, however -- SAY SPEED RAVE)
We need Tatsh, however. :D (And not just for Xepher, mind you. I personally think Sphere's a better song, because most of my adrenaline from Xepher comes from its corresponding video.)
Bands:
M.O.V.E
Porno Graffiti
L'arc-en-Siel wouldn't be bad either
Mangaka:
I hardly know that much,so anybody would work for me
Seiyuu:
Wataru Takagi
Tomokazu Seki
Masakazu Morita
Takehito Koyasu
Yeah, that's sort of my list. I wouldn't complain if none of them could come, but can at least ONE person come? Just one? Move would be my choice from bands, and Takehito Koyasu would be my seiyuu choice(If that's a stretch, then Wataru Takagi). Please?????
Mayu Shinjo - mangaka of Kaikan/Sensual Phrase
Ueda Yuuji - seiyuu, he's a little old school but he's been doing a lot of work lately too
Tsushimamire - band, because I'm such a big Tsushi fan and their music is awesome and the bassist rocks so hard
The Emeralds - band, these guys have have amazing energy and their music is great

Don't hold your breath waiting for Mari to return to Fanime. She was treated rudely by the staff of Fanime '02 and left the convention in a cloud of dust.
I've said them before and I'll repeat them. From the organized 2006 guest request thread (http://forums.fanime.com/viewtopic.php?t=3932) (plus a few additions):

L'arc en ciel
Seiyuu:
Shinichiro Miki
Takehito Koyasu
Kikuko Inoue
Mangaka
Kentarou Miura
Let's see...well.
I'd like that guy who did the Storytelling for Animation panel to come back and do more panels on that sort of stuff (I think that was the Sean that was mentioned earlier who did the Eva panel, but I could be wrong). His panel was really awesome.
Manga:
Ken Akamatsu (sp?)
Yu Watase (Alice 19th, Ceres, etc.)
Whoever does Naruto (books aren't in front of me...sorry :S)
Music:
Any artists from the Initial D sountracks. I love that music.
Two Mix
Other:
Yamaga has to come back, period.
Anyone from Gundam (any of the series)
Sorry, I don't have a lot of names cause I'm not quite as rehearsed in Anime as everyone else :S. I would just like to see more people talking about manga though, like getting into the business, etc etc etc.

Now I'm not sure where you heard this from, but I'd love to know the source and which "staff" you're talking about. Considering that Mari was my guest at the time, I still have a vested interest, as Guest Relations always strives to make FanimeCon's guests happy while visiting with us.
My list of guests for Fanime 07, if they somehow win the lottery or at least a fraction of the lotto LOL :
-Ken Akamatsu
-Rie Tanaka
-Megumi Hayashibara
-Yui Horie
-Ai Shimizu
-M.O.V.E
-Camino
-Nami Tamaki
-Koge-Donbo
-Clamp
-Hideyuki Kurata
-KOTOKO
-Masami Okui
-Masami Asada
-Yoshiyuki Sadamoto
-Aoi Nanase
-Mami Kawada
-Yoshiyuki Tomino
-Akitaroh Daichi
-Masamune Shirow(yea right)
-Oh Great!
-Monkey Punch
-Aya Hisakawa
-Mitsuishi Kotono
-Sawashiro Miyuki
-Kuwatani Natsuko
-Peach-Pit
-Wendee Lee
-Uphold
-Noto Mamiko
God, I have a big wishlist lol

The Saturday concert was cancelled. I went to the info desk and the guy running the department and his second both told me Mari had left the convention. She was upset that Friday's concert didn't receive much publicity, as only a sparse crowd had shown up. She was also upset the equipment wasn't set up on time. There were others issues, but I can't remember.

Any more specifics? Having not heard of this myself first hand, the details you list are grounds to be upset but don't seem to constitute being "treated rudely".
How about american born japanese artist who have gone to japan to sing? I think they would be more likely since they have ties to the US. And I'm not talking about Utada Hikaru either, I'm thinking of melody and Rie Fu (sings bleach ending theme). They'll probably be cheaper to get to come to fanime and they're very talented too! :D
UVERworld. 'nuff said.
KAMIJO. And if even possible...the whole band, Lareine! Even if not Kamijo, SOMEONE from that band. Even Machi or Kazumi(even though they left already) would do. ANYONE from Lareine.
...
...
...please? Obsessive much...maybe.
Oh, and have Snafu come again! And ask if this time, they can bring Bleedman! *w*
Oh, and a few cast members form the future Death Note movies:
-Tatsuya Fujiwara(Light/Raito Yagmi)
-Kenichi Matsuyama(L)
Those are the main 2 I want >< But anyone else if fine xD
[/url]
Hayashibara had a kid a few years ago [of course, you obvoiusly knew that]. She's been on haitus from the seiyuu business for a while, let alone do any events. Keep in mind, guests usually go to cons and events to promote something, and since Hayashibara isn't really doing anything in the anime business at the moment, she doesn't really have a reason to come.
Anyway, onto my requests. I don't really expect big names like Hocchan, Yukarin, Mamiko-chan, and Kawasumi to attend Fanime. We are pretty big, but still unheard of in some areas. Maybe when we're big like Comic-con or AX [yes, we can strive for it! >< /]
Personally, if they voiced a character from Negima, that'd really make my day. -Negima freak >.>;- Akamatsu-sensei would be even better!
Some other manga-ka I'd like:
Amano Kozue [AQUA, ARIA]
Azuma Kiyohiko [Azumanga Daioh, Yotsuba&]
Kojima Akira [Mahoraba]
Kobayashi Jin [School Rumble]
Mostly ones that haven't done many titles but are very significant in my eyes. :]
Oooh, and the TYPE-MOON or Visual Art's/Key people would be awesome as well.
Quote from: "pockystix"Visual Art's/Key people
I'm assuming you mean Key staff only. Key is a developer under the publisher Visual Art's. Cause I know most people wouldn't really care about Studio Mebius or SAGA PLANETS staff. ^^;

That would be pretty hard since Tatsuya is a fairly big TV actor in japan before he did Death Note, and after he most likely would be even bigger. Kenichi the same but his career was getting big after he was also in Nana.
I'll add more as I think of them...
Seiyuu:
Mamiko Noto
Nana Mizuki
Chiwa Sato
Ayako Kawasumi
Kana Ueda
Tomokazu Seki
Romi Paku
Yui Horie
Very unrealistic music list:
Gackt
L'arc~en~ciel
Antique Cafe
Gazette
Mangakas:
Iisaka Yukako
Narumi Kakinouchi
Kazuya Minekura
Ai Yazawa
Probably the whole list is unrealistic... ^.^;;
The main artists from Key or Type-moon would be nice also but I don't really count on any of this happening... >.>
Well, now that I know the bands hwo came this year will most likely not be coming back (for variety, I guess), I made a new list! XD
Music:
- Alice Nine (Oh please oh please oh please X3333)
- Ongakushitsu (Another band under Japanfiles. =D)
- Orange Range
- Gazette
- The Pillows (Anyone going to their SF Slim's show? I am. =D)
- Asian Kung-fu Generation. =3
- Porno Graffitti
- Rie Fu
- Mikuni Shimokawa
Id Vote for Orange Range of that bunch. But that would be difficult since they are a large band. Both in popularity and members.
I learned of a couple of these through a friend.
More music:
Kamikaze Boyz (http://kamikazeboyz.fc2web.com/)
HeaRt (http://loopash.com/heart/)
Phantasmagoria
Lareine
Music:
camino
Strobo
misono
Janne Da Arc
TRAX
m-flo
MONKEY MAJIK
ZZ
...hahaha just realized I listed mostly avex artists...
so..I'll add:
UVERworld!
Crystal Kay
SOUL'd Out
Spitz
Angela Aki
melody.
Kamiki Aya
sandman sleep
and...it'd be nice to see some Johnny's boys over here puwahaha. Like NEWS...even though their group activity has been put on hiatus for this year ^^;;;; But there's still KAT-TUN and Kanjani8...Even if we could just get Yamashita Tomohisa that'd be cool >DDDD
And I second the whole Fujiwara Tatsuya suggestion even though he's probably way too super busy o.O;;; It'd be cool to see him though, especially since I know people are anticipating his role as Raito in Death Note, and he's made so many fans with his role in the BR films as well as Shinsengumi!, Kamen Gakuen, Moonlight Jellyfish, etc.
Hm, that's all I can think of for now ^_^
acid android> have you heard the theme song to moonlight jellyfish? isn't it amazing? don't you want the singer out here? :D:D:D [/evil plan]
if we can't get amano, can we at least have the band september? both are on the otokura label. (but i doubt we could have both, as the lead singer of september is also in amano's band~)

But I really do agree in bringing over Amano Tsukiko. I really like her songs "HONEY?" and "Chou" and "Treasure" too xD She's been growing on me ever since you've been plugging her stuff on here hahahahaha, and it's always cool to see more female rockers xD
Plus, I really would like for you to see your favorite artist since you've been showing her so much support ;__;

I personally would love that to no end. But with the fact that there ARE still some straights who come to fanime that would not understand his brand of humor. Letting him loose on San Jose would probably be asking for trouble. It would be HILARIOUS, but id rather not see him get busted lol

Someone already mentioned her, but....
PAKU ROMI

Yeah, Hard Gay. Definitely.
And I forget the name, but the guy who sings a lot of the stuff for the Gravitation anime.... Though that's highly improbable.
i say that if we are ever going to have amano, we need to grab her now. >>
she is not that popular in america right now, but she is gianing popularity very quickly. not only will going to fanimecon boost her career, but once we get congoers intrested in her music, they will instantly fall in love. (the only people that have ever not liked amano i have talked to are people that refuse to listen to anything japanese, and believe me, i have converted a lot of people. <3)
i think that by having a star that is just rising and just on the edge of popularity would be a great thing, becuase then fanime can say "we had her first", and hopefully she would want to come back and make fanime ever better once she is more popular. :3
plus, her music is rihgt on the cutting edge and she is just an amazing person overall. the only flaw i can find with my plan is that in order to get her and her band out here, that would be quite a task, as pretty much all her band members work with other bands (from obscure little bands to TMR), and it woudl be quite a few people- amano, yamada akinori, takenami "JJ" toshiaki, ishihara shinichiro, yatsuka rie, strings players, synthesizer guy, though perhaps other (domestic) strings players can be trained to work with her, or she can skip all songs with strings in them (which is quite a few. :P). but other than that, i think it is very possible to get her out here, plus, fanime woudl be at a huge advantage for having her now.
meh. *cant beleive she wrote that much* >>

I'd also like to see Guitar Vader make it to Musicfest next year. I was kinda sad about their unfortunate drop out. In terms of MusicFest bands, I personally think it should be a mix between popular and newer developing bands so that more attendees will be encouraged to attend. There are a number of attendees I know of that usually don't care for music, unless the bands are well known such as Gackt, so maybe if more people are lured into the event, the small crowd from this year will expand.
Though that's just a theory...
I won't waste my time listing all the other more popular guests I'd like to see since everyone already did it for me.
Oh, forgot these:
Arakawa Hiromu (creator of FMA)
Matsushita Yoko (creator of yami no matsuei)
Murakami Maki (creator of Gravitation)
I heard that Karma Shenjing was going to pause their activities after their performance at Jrock Con. Does anyone know anything about this? =|

I think that your theory would actually work, if the bands were evenly distributed in terms of their turn in the actual concert (so that not a lot of people would leave right after "their band" finished playing).
We should try this out. =D
Yeah, I want to see Guitar Vader next year, too. Did their guitarist (or was it bassist?) get out of the hospital okay? =|
the musicfest is usually so awesome. :O In fact, it's the only reason why I attend Fanime. It just makes me disappointed that attendance for musicfest is usually so low. ._.

I could rant about Swinging Popsicle, Mothercoat, and so on all night - I've got them on my mp3 player and constantly listen to their tracks - but there's a few reasons they probably won't be coming back to FanimeCon anytime soon. There were a lot of miscommunications between us and their US reps, so a lot of expensive mistakes occurred. I don't think they'd want to work with me again.
Besides, our money is already earmarked... I don't think they'll come for free.
It sucks. I owe Junpei about a billion Cokes, too.

And I know it's technically not 'anime' but if we had the creators of 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' Mike Dimartino and Bryan Konietzko come(they did it at PMX), then I could die happy. (okay, maybe I wouldn't die happy, but at least I'd be happier.)

has A LUNCH been mentioned yet? i mean, that is if we can't get out amano.
they are a very new little indies band with otokura records that has punky/poppy/rockish whatever music. it's impossible to explain. they aren't the best musically, but incredibly fun to listen to, and they have an awesome vocalist, even if she screams too much for my tastes (though not really much in comparison to a lot of bands. :P) just think about this- at their first (and only so far, they have another in march, though), someone came out dressed in a giant panda suit and did a punk-rock version of YMCA. how awesome would that be at fanime? :P

the closest thing you can find is actually amano tsukiko, as this is her side project, but still very diffrent from her solo work, as this was all done with the band, and seems to prefer that this and her solo career are treated as seperate entities, as evidenced by her name change to tenko and the fact that no one would be caught dead referring to tenko as amano around her.
i can upload clips if anyone wants to hear them. they are brand new, only one mini-album so far, and since otokura records started sucking around november (the redid the entire webpage and took down all clips), there is nothing to preview them by.
http://otokura.com/alunch/
there is their webpage anyway.
even though it's still technically amano... it's really not at all, as i said above. i think that a smaller band like this would be a bit easier to bring out, perhaps, and probably would be more fun to have a concert for, even if amano concerts are a grand show in themselves, musicfest and amano probably would not mix as well as i would like (unless she did a very stripped-down live), but A LUNCH and musicfest would probably be a perfect combination.
Quote from: "FanFicGuru"I'm a bit concerned as to why there is only one gues on the list so far. True there's still over 100 days until the con, but are they being hid from us intentionally or are there really no other guests besides Yamaga?
Just wondering.
Actually I have about 5 bands lined up for MusicFest, but until they're signed, I can't say anything. :(
There are also domestic guests that need to be added to the website, I believe.

I just wish ther'd be something OTHER than musicfest guests ~_~ I'd like to see more voice actors, and artists, i mean for the past 2 years i haven't been too pleased with the guests... well at least none that i find any interest in..
I WANT VIC MIGNOGNA TO COME
hes the dude who played Ed in FMA
and Dark Mousy in DN ANGEL!!
I got an email from him saying that hes needs to be invited inorder to go here =D
INVITEE HIM!
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that you need to invite ZUN (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Team_Shanghai_Alice). >.>
Phantasmagoria! And the creator of Yamato nadeshiko Shichi henge!
Everyone wants so many guests that they know would be impossible to get.
Hirano Aya... hahahahaha yeah, because 6 jobs, singing, and college at the same time already made her collapse from exhaustion and put in a hospital for two weeks...
LET'S GIVE HER AN OVERSEAS TRIP IN ADDITION TO THAT!
Also, there was a gaming industry panel that had workers from Atlus, EA, Konami, and Namco last year, only 4 people went. So they got drunk instead.
Oh Great! - would actually be a pretty good guest(even though I despise him as a writer though enjoy his art)... with the release of Tenjou Tenge and Air Gear in the states, but getting JUMP to agree that that might be a little difficult. I could ask him why his comics always go to crap after about 1/3 through the story though.
Prior to 2007 I have(multiple times) suggested Haruko Momoi, but now that she's with Avex in addition to a handful of other companies, it might be incredibly hard. Momoi has stated that she really wants to come to the US to see a US convention, she enjoyed AX Tokyo and the feel compared to Japanese conventions like Comiket. Illness prevented her from coming to AX, it would be a chance for her, and a huge opportunity for her as well.
Mosaic.wav Relatively unknown, though they've done a few anime openings for recent shows, like sumomomomomomomomomomomomomomomomomo~. Akiba's new sound is dempa, and mosaic.wav is a grand example of what's been following the moe~ trend for the past 2 years. Because they are smaller, it shouldn't be too difficult to acquire.
Romi Paku would be amazing to get, and her schedule seems to be slowing down recently so she might have an opening... maybe.
Perfume-Another relatively unknown group just starting out. They have ties with Haruko Momoi and have done a lot of promotion with her(they shared a few songs like Akihabara Love). Three super cute denpa singing girls.
Tamura Yukari- One of the best VA's out there. I think the biggest issue with her would be scheduling, since she's relatively busy, but has shown interest in wanting to come to the states.
*MGRCK or Meg Rock. She's done a handful of theme songs, and although everyone has probably heard her songs, very few people know who she is. Here, I'll help you out, she did "Catch You, Catch Me" From Card Captor Sakura. She's done a handful of songs recently from Joushikousei and Solty Rei(which is now in US so it'd be good promotion for that series). She's got a pretty nice voice and isn't some impossible name to get.
I've - As was said by a handful of people before. Kotoko's been doing her thing and promoting in the US, and I love her. Kawada Mami however is getting a lot larger, ever since the release of SEED which contained the opening to Shakugan no Shana.
Now, if I wanted to aim for something unobtainable, I'd want to aim huge. Like, mind blowingly huge, you people can have your Gackt, and Orange Range, Utada Hikaru, even Ayu... I'd aim larger.
Shiina Ringo... Rock Queen of Japan and Tokyo Jihen.

That'd be fun~. Then went to ACEN before, didn't they? Maybe we can get them to come to Fanime this time around. =3333
I've been hoping for two years.
:D
But I don't know, they're pretty busy in Japan now, aren't they?
FUKUYAMA JUN.
Please?
He's a seiyuu, popularly known for Lelouch (Code Geass), Watanuki (xxxHOLiC), Keita (Gakuen Heaven), and many many more. He's pretty popular right now and I think he'd be a great addition to the Fanime guest lineup! .^^ He's also uber dorky and cute~
PLEASE please try and get Antic Cafe to perform here. Here's why I think they'd be perfect for Fanime. Antic Cafe is an up and coming indie band. They're already getting big in Japan. It's perfect timing for them to expand to the US. They're where Psycho le Cemu was at before they did their US thing.
I know it's probably impossible, but I recently saw Miyavi perform in Vegas and he was utterly fantastic. GET MIYAVI. Seriously. It will do Fanime good.
Kamijo came last year, but I missed him. :( Lareine should make an appearance this year, definitely. Get him back.
actually it was Jrockhouse ent that brought kamijo O: but i do wonder if they do want to bring ALL of lareine since kamijo said something about cheering for his mates to come too X3 that way i can finally feel happy hugging Kamijo again and :d maybe poke at emiru~
D: i wonder who they got
update the guest list plooox T_____T

Not to be demanding, but does anyone know how it's going on the Guest front? Fanime is in two months, so are the new ones going to be last minute or does Yamaga-san have to entertain us all?... Just a quandary. D:

I asked Tony a while back, and it seems like he had a bunch of bands on standby. Thing is, he can't announce guests or bands until they sign a contract.
Chances are the guest list will get increases in huge floods. Like, we'll find out there are 5 bands and two more guests a month beforehand, and then guests and bands will trickle in as the contracts are signed.
At least, I'm pretty sure that's what the situation is at the moment.

Any japanese seiyu guests lined up in the future?
Quote from: "jindo"Any japanese seiyu guests lined up in the future?
Not that I know of.
The cry of most Fanime attendees lately has been to lower the amount of Bands and increase the number of guests. I think that while we desire more guests, we should also be courteous to those who agree to come to fanime. I know that I would be insulted if I offered my time and energy to come do a panel at Fanime and then hear that the Fanime attendees wanted 'better' guests.
While the desire for more guests (and arguably, more notable guests) is a legitimate one, we should also be careful not to insult the ones who are already willing to come out on our behalf.

I personally haven't said "lower the amount of bands plzzzzz"
I'm simply asking can we get guests that aren't just for the music event for fanimeee?? I mean can we have voice actors/artists/ ANYTHING? along with the music bands???
Satoshi Urushihara The only person I'd go to hell and back to meet
Hideaki Anno 11 years since he's been to an American Covention (His only US convention that is)
Yoshiyuki Sadamoto
Kunio Okawara
Mitsuo Fukuda
Sh?ichi Ikeda
Yuu Watase
Shinichi Watanabe
Mika Akitaka
Cameron A. "Cam" Clarke
Good list.
I'd add:
Tohru Fujisawa
Kazuo Koike
Takehiko Inoue
well majority of people come to fanime for guests and bands, you know something to keep them on their toes. Personally i go to both and its great
x: Personally I would like to see Manga-ka and Takemoto Novala, Famous Author to Shimotsuma Monogatori and lolita writer
basically more rounded fanime is more people will come :3? i deno

I agree! I like to see the bands and the guests, but I'm not seeing either listed. Anime Central is only 2 weeks before Fanime and they have a huge list of guests and bands posted (including my fave High and Mighty Color). Is Fanime hiding it's guests until the last minute?
Honestly, I'd like more American VAs (like what Fanime used to have):
Vic, Spike, Amanda W-L, Wendee, Crispin, Veronica, Johnny Yong, etc...
C'mon, you know who these people are!
(Some may also remember Rob Paulson from AOD 2006. Maybe him too? ^_~)
Putting the official hat aside (meaning, I'm not speaking for Fanime or programming) and speaking a little from personal experience, working with other people outside of Fanime puts you on their time schedule, not yours. So, you can have everything planned out down to the date, and the other people can and will blow your carefully planned schedule to hell. And sometimes, it's even you who's responsible for blowing it because you got sick, personal situations came up, or you just needed a break from your split personality lives.
Anyways, I think I can say that those of us at Fanime who put in a ton of hard work to get our guests would have loved to give you something as early as January...
Oh, putting the official hat on for a sec, Fanime does have some guests to announce soon.. I think they have to do with music fest... I think I heard it's probably going to be longer than just a night.... something about one of them only playing on Thursday night as a "we so totally got lucky they wanted to play at Fanime again before going on to their big weekend gig".. I wasn't really paying attention (give me a break, it's my glorified 4 day weekend my dumb butt college calls a spring break), but you know, that sort of announcement.

I'm glad to hear that some guests are going to be announced soonish! I don't mean to annoy the staff begging for guests and I do appreciate all the hard work the staff does. It's just a little depressing when I browse other con pages and they have a bunch of guests lined up, and then I look over here and theres nothing. But I can't wait to see who is lined up! [Sits and waits patiently] :)

i don't care when announcements of guests are made, but i just want guests that appeal to me, i mean what about people who go to cons who don't care for musicfest? Bring Nami Tamaki!

You haven't heard anything YET. And I'd just like to add this -- every anime convention features voice actors and artists. It's a given. But not every convention... *rarely* every convention features jrock artists and even less conventions feature jpop artists. That's why Fanime is awesome for catering to people who DO want to see jrock artists perform every now and then. Other conventions hardly put emphasis on music at all.
Well, wow I'm surprised that people haven't mentioned that the MusicFest guests have actually been announced on the Fanime page!!!

Well there are usually Yaoi-con events Saturday night, and those are super fun, so I'd like to not miss them. Of course, they don't interest everyone, so it's not like they're going to schedule the concert around it.

Well, assuming the concert is about 2 hours long, chances are it won't collide with too many Yaoi events since many of them are 11PM or later due to the 18+ age limit.
I really don't think that the concert will collide with too many events, and besides that I'd argue that based on the reviews and the experience, even though Fanime only happens once a year, this Symphony is something that you won't get much chance of seeing.
So, in my book, nothing at Fanime would stop me from going to the concert.

100 bucks gets you in the first 8 rows, roughly.
Well, the show is going to be at 8 PM on Saturday night (the 26th) so the only events I can foresee it colliding with is the dance and maybe Der Cosplay...but I forget if it was Saturday Night or Sunday night now...oh well.
From everything I've heard about Play!, it is definitely going to be worth it.
Won't it collide with MusicFest? Doesn't that usually start around 7PM on Saturday?
Yes... which is why MusicFest is changing it's format...
Also, we announced a few more guests, yay.

I hope for some Japanese guest announcements soon. =.x
Because my efforts are laughable and getting my hopes up is ALMOST as fun as watching them get dashed, here's my list.
Vic Mignogna
Liam O' Brian
Monica Rial
Carrie Savage
Jason Liebrecht
Jonathan Klein
Yes, I'm FULLY aware that they're ALL from the English Phase of the industry, but they ARE from a Phase of the industry. Not to mention that my sig speaks volumes for my opinion.
The Sacramento Anime Con got Crispin Freeman! Any chance we can get him too!?! He's excellent in Hellsing and Scrapped Princess. :)
EIICHIRO ODA.
/capslock
it would be awesome to have Piano Squall come to Fanime - ive seen numerous videos on youtube of his performances (he played with Ramen & Rice at AOD 06 this past year) and i would love to see him play live!
OT but Yukari Kaiba, THUMBS UP for Grimmjow in your siggy!
Mmmmm......... Grimmjow............ He's voiced by my favorite seiyuu (Suwabe Junichi), who I think would be a lovely addition to the Fanime guest roster. *nudgenudgewinkwink*
Hmmm... FUNimation (http://www.funimation.com/f_index.cfm?page=conventions) sez they'll be going to Fanime this year... So does that mean some of their "regular" VA's will be attending, too?
I hope so (regarding Funimation)

Cool. That'd be really cool to have funimation there..and we can all thank them for re-licensing one piece too!
Hmm....FUNimation is a nifty group of peeps. Whether the regular VA's will be there or not is probably an answer closer to a "No", but it'd be nice to have Dub companies around.
We can be optimistic though...
Media Blasters is on the dealer's list, but they might just have a table. I hope they're showing stuff too.
I would like to see:
Music:
Gackt
Rentrer en Soi
m.o.v.e.
Moi dix Moi
L'Arc-en-Ciel
Voice: Japanese
Chiwa Saito
Johji Nakata
Fumiko Orikasa
Tetsu Inada
Voice: English
Vic Mignogna
Katherine Gray
Crispin Freeman
Monica Rial
Manga:
Matsuri Hino
Kouta Hirano
Bisco Hatori
One can only hope for all of those. :D
So... does any staffers know if there's a possibility of anymore Japanese guests? (specifically voice actors)

Seriously! I want more seiyuu~
And don't keep us in suspense! The con's only a month away. I'd really like to know who else Fanime has coming to the con. .^^;;;

10 bucks says they pull another 3-4 guests out of their...hat about a week before fanime.
I don't mind the suspense, as long as more guests are announced.
I'm just still surprised that Sekihiko Inui is actually coming. I threw it out there thinking it was a lost cause.
Awesome. I have to get him to sign my volumes.

I didn't notice they added a guest. It doesn't say so on the main page. lol
Cool!

Thanks. Anyways, hopefully a few more guests will be announced soon.
Personally, I'm psyched about Play! and I will probably be waiting in line 3 hours early for a crapload of goodies. ^_^

*crosses fingers for some really good (male =.x) seiyuu*
And when will said "2 guests" be announced?
Two more guests on the way? That's good. ^_^
Two More???
"Crosses Fingers"

One of them looks like the President of Bandai. He's showing Gunbuster 2 and Wings of Rean. I'm pretty hyped about that.
I wonder if he's going to comment about the whole pricing issue...
NEW GUESTS!!!
Mari Iijima
Mari Iijima is well known for her work as Lynn Minmay in the Macross franchise, which many cite as the series that introduced anime into American pop culture. However, this talented musician, singer, and songwriter has a resume that far surpasses Macross.A true pop star, Mari Iijima is an accomplished singer and songwriter who has released numerous top 10 albums through Victor Entertainment Japan and Warner Music Japan. She has worked with some of the music industry's greatest musicians, both in Japan and in the U.S. Her songs and albums have also won several musical awards. Not limiting herself to music, Mari has also appeared in film, television, and on radio in both Japan and the U.S., which has also been award-winning work.
Reuben Langdon
Those who played Devil May Cry 3 and 4 may recognize Reuben Langdon as the voice of Dante. Mr. Langdon is a Los-Angeles-based actor, producer, and director who started his career in Japan on B-Fighter Kabuto and then worked in Hong Kong on films such as Jackie Chan's My Stunts, Gen-Y Cops, and The Medallion. Returning to the US, he appeared in CBS's Martial Law and Saban's Power Rangers. In addition, Mr. Langdon has performed in and coordinated motion capture shoots for interactive video games, including Star Wars: Jedi Knight II, Devil May Cry 3 and 4, and Deadrising. He also directed and edited an additional opening sequence for Devil May Cry 3.5 Special Edition. Mr. Langdon is co-founder of Just Cause Productions and is dedicated to raising the Action Cinema standard with a unique blend of Asian action flavor and Hollywood production values.
Asami Sanada
Where can we start with Sanada-san? She's played so many roles that differ so much - the hyperactive Dejiko in Digi Charat, the nerdy boy Jun Sakurada thrown into the world battling dolls in Rozen Maiden, the food fanatic Chizuko Oe in Mahoromatic, the cheerful, athletic girl Shina Tamai in the dark series Narutaru. Let's give Sanada-san a warm welcome!
Hm, yes, another guest...
We'll update the website with his info soon..
Something to do with a video game.. and an xBox 360.. Oh, why can't I remember the details..

Shoot, I wouldn't mind someone like Takeuchi Junko!
I would get my Konoha headband signed! Haha.
EDIT: Nevermind, it seems to be Kobayashi Masao?
Um, who...? I looked them up on ANN, but there was just like 4 credits for staff. What does Kobayashi have to do with Naruto?
What is it now, 4 days???
I suppose there's always next year...

If you read the info that it links to from the front page, Kobayashi is in charge of a new Naruto game and Fanime will be getting a world exclusive peek at it.
Pretty cool if you ask me.

I did click on it. It was in the same link as Iijima and took me to the guest page, where I didn't find any info about her. =.x
