Hello Volunteers from 2010,

Due to some miscommunication, the Finance Department was not given a list of volunteers that were unable to make it to the reimbursement day for volunteers in Registration on the last day of Con.  I have been processing the requests as they come in.  Please email [email protected] so we can research your hours and get this straightened out.  Thank you to the volunteers that have brought this to my attention.  I apologize to anyone that has not yet received their reimbursement for volunteering.

Payments made for the last Pre-Registration price point are ready for entry into the DB.  I wanted to notify anyone reading the forums of this that have been waiting patiently for their payments to show.  All the payments with their account information that we have received recently will be updated.  If you do not see your payment in the next few days, please email [email protected] and include as much information about your account and payment (like a check number and name on check) so we can research it.  Thank you.

oh ok. has it always been the same? if yes, why not give a group discount? if not, did it not work out?

Ahh... the history of this now unfolds.  The group registration used to have a discount, but it was to benefit Anime Clubs and limited to Pre-Registration (a few times it extended to Early Registration, but it caused problems with the ever famous "why don't I have a laminated badge?" question).  FanimeCon supports Anime Clubs and extended this as a group discount for the clubs.

Once attendees that were not part of a club realized that they could become a "group" and register to obtain the discount, the purpose of the discount was negated.  There was no easy way to verify that a group was a legitimate Anime Club without delaying the pickup of their badges or the process becoming too bureaucratic for the groups with finding a common way to identify Anime Clubs.  At that point, the group registration remained, but without the discount.  In the end, group discounts were too costly to give away so easily without a way to ensure that the discount went to the Anime Clubs that they were for.

imho, if you want a discount, Pre-Register before the price goes up.  Prices are significantly lower for each membership during Pre-Registration than At-con Registration.

OMG!  I didn't get my payment in time for Pre-Registration...   :'(  Now I'm going to have to either settle for an Early Registration Membership or register At-Con.  I hope there are nice staffers there to help me.   ;)

Things are changing this year due to safety and security concerns we have for our members.  We have to ask for a valid government ID for all members that will register for FanimeCon 2008 to show that the member registering gives us all valid information.  I thank you in advance for your understanding.

Orz I have a lot of questions...

So I have an ID, but it doesn't have my address because we moved a few months ago and we're going to move in a few months which is why I don't want to get a new ID yet. Will it still work? The address is different, but I'm in the same state and city as the address in my card.

Is it a CA ID?  For you CA ID, if you put in a change of address you should have the address change card with it filled out with the new address.  If you don't have your new CA by the convention, the CA ID with the change of address card would be sufficient since it is official.  Please make sure it is not expired.  Thank you.

If you mailed in your payment for Fanime 2008, this has not yet been updated on our database.  We are working on the problem and hope to resolve it soon.  If you are concerned and want to confirm that we have received your mailed in payment, please email [email protected] and include the amount of your check,  when you mailed it, and your account number.  Payments mailed in in November might not be in our backup records yet.  Please be patient during this time of turbulence.  Thank you.

We cannot confirm the $55 at the door price for the full weekend at this time.  The at-con prices will be later after we have approvals and we are allowed to advertise it.  Thank you for your patience.

Will a photocopy of the passport work? (We don't want to risk losing the real one, lol.)

Nope. Anything photocopy is not acceptable.

A photocopy of any ID is just a photocopy.  We need the actual ID.

Check your email.  BTW, weeks ago doesn't match up to the date on the email we recieved.  I didn't find it in anything a week and half older, but found it yesterday in the emails that haven't been answered for 1 week that I've been trying to keep up. :D

i'm trying to add another person to my group registration... but i don't see a button to add a new one... is the group registration closed already?

Group Registration has closed with the end of Pre-Registration.  Have your friend sign up for Early Registration instead, but they will have to pick up their Early Registration badge in the Pre-registration/Early Registration line.
