In the spirit of all things pro wrestling. I think it would be great to meet with my fellow marks and talk about all the crazy occurances that happen in the squared circle. A large number of professional wrestling fans come to Fanime so hopefully there will be a good turnout.

Day : Sunday
Time : 2:00 PM
Location  g7 - Tree Area (tree area @ foot of stairs by "The Slab")

Cosplayers :
Tofu - Kenny Omega (NJPW)
The Crypt -  Williow (TNA)

jacketsensual - Dean Ambrose (WWE)

Legal Statement-Fanime will be taking group pictures during the Gathering/Event this year. If you do not want to be included in those pictures please step aside for those photos. By remaining with the group when the pictures are being taken you give your consent to be photographed.

Photo Order: Group shot, wrestler organized by Fed, group shot again, teams, custom matchups.

Thanks for the update. List has been updated. Don't forget to spread the word and let people know as I've heard that many people do not think there's a gathering.

Gathering list updated and date changed as I said it was on the 30th.

Hope to make it to one of these with my Flynn (SMT IV) cosplay! Thank you for remembering SMT exists, even though it will probably be all Persona cosplayers besides me, lol

I'll be the first to admit that my non Persona knowledge is anemic at best however I make sure that characters from the lesser known games get their time in the spotlight.

If you're familiar with how the gatherings are ran it will be the same way. First a few game group shots then character specific pictures. Afterwards we'll do a final group shot then requests. Midnight gathering is geared toward general hanging out and catching extra photos, it won't be too heavily focuses on picture taking. Unfortunately there is no big official plans for King's Game

I apologize for not getting the room at a later time as that's what Fanime gave me. A bit of context, the reason why I requested a room this year was that while the huge 90+ person King's Game was amazingly due to the acoustics and amount of people it just totally did a number on my voice and body. Having King's Game in a smaller venue will allow a wider variety of acts to be seen and appreciated as we'll be using the same formula as AX 2013.

With that said, Saturday has turned out to be a hectic time for me as there is a chance that I might not be seen at both events so you make sure you all have a beary good time in my place if this happens.

So what do you actually do on stage...?

On stage, contestants cut promos where they try to appeal or insult the crowd in order to bolster their image much like what a pro wrestler would do in the ring right before a major match. As contestants progress, the promos are less scripted and ultimately they face off against the reining champion in a on one one battle of mic skills.

Hey folks your Beary Wonderful host here.

Want to personally thank everyone who showed up to the gathering and DOUBLE thanks to all the people who showed love to the less popular characters and I apologize that I didn't get you in as many shots as you should be. We're still trying to do our best on thinking of ways to get the characters on the floor outside of calling people by series and as you can see we've got more work ahead of us.

With that said, I just wanna say you guys are AWESOME supportive and coopertive. Everyone was having a good time, cheering and staying energized. You can seriously feel the love in the group and I feel honored that you trust our team to oraganize these events year after year. Also don't forget to thank Pulseline when you see them, those folks are responsible for organizing the threads, monitoring the FB page and passing out/making King's Game sticks. They do all the hardwork, I'm just the front man.

We're going to be at AX where another person will be in charge of the Afternoon gathering. However I've been asked to organize AX King's Game so if you want to continue the embarassing antics stay tuned.

Also don't forget about our FB page so we can keep you updated on all of our cosplay events.

Hey folks G here, thought I'd shoot an update over.

As of right now chances look slim for us to have Kings Game at the Fairmont due to schedual and room size. I have no final answer but antisipate having all the events stay within the Fanime con center.

For people who haven't been to our events I just want to say that the midnight gathering is sort of a "makeup" gathering where we go through the normal patterns of the afternoon gathering with a heavier emphasis on socialzing at the end. King's Game has been hugly popular and you do not have to come dressed in cosplay to partisipate. If you're sitting on the fense to attend or not because your outfit is not super comfortable, let that bit of info give you peace of mind.

Thanks for the gathering and letting Uncle yell at all the AP champions

Whoooo we've got another gathering down and the attendance has swelled in both cosplayers and photographers/viewers. I can't comment on the afternoon gathering as I was late and DarkenedWings had full control of the event so I backed out as not to complicate things however the Midnight Gathering I was there from beginning to end. From what I saw, we had a very lively group filled with tons of photos and super cooperative cosplayers where the energy reached such high levels that I had to collapse on the floor when things were done (that's a good sign as I was smiling  ;D)

Gotta thank HeeroYuy135 for keeping this thread updated, DarkenedWings for helping me run the midnight gathering on account my voice was shot and to everyone who stayed. My biggest regret was not involving the Cathrine side characters more so if you are reading this then I'm soooo sorry. While Cathrine is a bit harder to include in pictures as opposed to Persona 2 or Devil Summoner, it's not really an excuse to just give the series a cold shoulder. I was beating my head against the wall to try to get the cast more involved with the rest of the characters. Any ideas with this issue would be most welcomed cause I really want to do my best in getting everyone involved.

With that said, in comparison to other gatherings in the past, our numbers have grown enough where I really noticed the benefit of having help from the cosplayers a second organizer and the crowd for both ideas for photos and keeping track who's been photographed and who hasn't so that really helped moved things along.

Unrelated note, my streak of losing my voice after running Persona gatherings continues.  :P

I feel bad for not taking any pictures and yet I'm asking for some

Uncle Chan (Jackie Chan Adventures0
Kuzco (Emperor's New Groove)

I'll be able to help out on both days but on the afternoon gathering I won't be in Persona gear, midnight I can switch out depending on my scheduled.
#38
I didn't plan on cosplaying Persona during the daytime gathering but I heard you guys needed help in light of the organizer's absence (in fact he approached me during Daicon asking for help). Originally I passed because I thought it wouldn't be kosher to have a non Persona cosplayer run the Persona gathering but I had a few people ask to help out so if you don't mind I can help out again this year for both gatherings.

Why hello there Fanime comedy club, you will always be my favorite spot to perform at.

It's an idea I've been tossing around and I thought I'd share it here since it requires a bit of planning to pull off.

For fans of the movie Kung Fu Hustle, I want to pull together a huge Ax Gang group for Fanime. While there have been others who have done the cosplay before, but never in huge numbers which is something I want to change.

For the group cosplay the outfits are pretty easy

Black suit
White dress shirt
Black tie
Prop Ax (more like a woodsman ax or hatchet as opposed to a fireman's ax)
Top hat (optional)

Most likely we'd just handle the cosplay as a gathering, meet up, take some photos, do the dance (if we know how) then ,if others are up to it, walk around the con like we own the place. Afterwards we'll break and you're free to go.

Anyone up for this?
