I dont know why anyone is even bothering to talk about it.

Its been made perfectly clear that anime/japanese music is absolutely NOT allowed at Anime/Japanese cons

Yeah Fanime couldn't get DJ Tiesto or DJ Boy George...  so they had to resort to getting some J-rock band called An Cafe... After all, we don't go to anime cons for anime fandom. ;)
some J-Rock Band? O.o AnCafe is awesome! lol my opinion is you guys should listen to it! well who ever likes J Rock

I was kidding. An Cafe is mega huge popularrrr  :)

oh lol in that case. YOU ARE COOL! ...sorry i am a bit hyper i have caffeine and sweets with me right now i feel like L... did he drink caffeine?

L drinks pure unprocessed caffeine...from the coca cola factory.

*waits for the chuck norris jokes to spill in*

yeah sorry for all the caps >.< i dunno why i do that -.- habbit i guess, anyhoo i never said it was not techno XD of course it is lololz just not all anime techno remixes. i mean like i said they played the ding dong song, and i am pretty sure it was that last year. i duno it is fun tho no matter what music is played as long as its "danceable" XD

Maybe I'd better prepare that internet music comedy mix then for one of the nights I mix! Both danceable, and hilarious!

Would the OST from the Ghost in the shell PS1 game be a good example of Techno?

I vote for anything that is not rap/hip-hop/R&B.

Not only can you not actually dance to that "music" (except smash and grind as if you're having sex on the dancefloor), but most of the songs contain abusive and disrespectful messages and lyrics towards different groups of people.

Honestly, I'm going to the dances in hope that more anime/pop music will be played, since so many dances play nothing but rap.

If rap consists of most of the evening's lineup, you can count on at least one less guest (my companions for the weekend also share this view with me).

Nerdcore for the win m8 , throw down some Mc lars XD

Ill just leave this here...

the mainstream Rap you've been hearing is not marketed to you.

These two artists dedicate their entire careers to anime, videogames and geekry. Entire albums based on fandom as well. Give it a listen at least. Thank you.

Thanks for the backup, Stormy.  :)

I think every night, I'll play a different mix. One night I'll do anime remixes, another night, I'll do Super Eurobeat. And one night, ill do Internet Music hits and memes.

very classy of you jinnai, better rock that cherry chocolate rain.

Havent totally decided on it yet...but for sure, the internet tunes really work at these kinds of events. Good to have a mix of many genres for the dance.

Please never play the Mortal Kombat theme ever again

Please never play Carameldansen ever again <---fix'd

just kidding xD!

i had some yaoi-con fan girl hella try to tell me to play that at the dance, i'm totally clueless about the song (and with good reason from what i hear)

You prolly don't wanna know. It's not even aime-related or Japanese.
Just a passing internet song fad made into some bad AMVs.

I would like to hear a good mix of techno with disco, 80's , and hip-hop. I'm tired of the trance! Mix it up! PLEASE!

Only 1 DJ played trance last year, and that was me.  Everything else was breaks, 80's/90's, electro, techno, drum 'n' bass, house, kpop, jpop, and hardcore.

And I enjoyed that Tetris Remix you played at ALA 09 :D

good thing i hooked him up with that.

Yeah it was very good ^_^.

i'm for the team man, no doubt. hell i still have your cd ddjinnailation max 2 from fanime 2003, so obviously i'm definately a team player. :-)

OH DAMN! I REMEMBER THAT CD! I have a copy of it in my CD folder. Good times.

I'll have a new fan mix CD to give away. ^_^
