I"M SO EXCITED ;D
its my chance to get away!!!! fanime is my yearly vacation and chance to.. have fun.
FREEDOM!!! i can't wait.
I presume that we are all excited =P
Otherwise WTF are you doing on these forums?
My question is, who isn't?
...I'm only on the forums because I can't concentrate at work. 0.o Plus I am excited for Fanime too. ;D
um, staff... we used up pretty much plan thru out the ENTIRE year planning for these 4/5 days. and many of us literally lose sleep over it. and sometimes sanity.
So please. be appreciative you 17,000+ fans out there. :P
some staff have been doing this for a LONG time...
but ironically staff still get giddy, but just not in a way that you crazy kids do :P
Have fun, but for the love of goodness, try to be sane out there.

That's the highest projected amount I've heard too.....someone messed with the telephone. :o
But yes, it is that time of the year again isn't it; when my inbox floods with e-mails everyday. It's Fanime time! ;D
I so excited that I'm mentally there already. :D
Fanime starts the last day of my finals.... So yes, I'm very very very very very excited.
I can't wait to stay up all night with my friends partying!!! I want to meet new people and make new friends like last year!! I can't wait to dance at the ball and cosplay!
oh btw, after Fanime is over does anyone else have a hard time adjusting back to normal everyday life? last year after fanime was over, for like two months I kept having dreams that I was still at Fanime. XD

I know I do. I have a real hard time adjusting to the fact that it's over. Plus my sleep pattern is all thrown off (I don't really sleep during Fanime XD). When I wake up on the that Tuesday I still have the urge to go out and cosplay. XD
Dude, I'm in a panic. My boss is being a jerk and saying "I'm not letting anyone go anywhere Memorial day weekend" But other than that, I'm stoked!

I remember when they used that as leverage against me because I never got my projects done on time until I said I'd quit. My boss stopped doing it. lol...
But I wouldn't suggest doing that since finding a job is kinda hard right now. :-X
Last year, when fanime ended...I was in a crabby mood for about two weeks.
I'm glad that work for me ends that weekend (I tutor) so I won't run into that problem. ALTHOUGH, I have to get ready for summer school. T_T
I work in the safeway bakery decorating cakes. Unfortunately for me, there is a graduation weekend that weekend. Estimated 60 - 100 cakes per day. Everyone is so dramatic.
And I'd threaten to quit but he'd probably fire me. My boss hates me. Pfft. I think I rule.
I'm excited, but its kind of hard for me to get excited sometimes. It's my chance to just get away, have fun, and associate with my kind.
i just put in for time off for fanime

there are some limits at my job. if you put in for something too soon, they'll forget or loose the paperwork.
one good thing about working at a family runned ( not my family) pizza joint is the boss is extremly easy going when it comes to takeing time off. Wanna week off? okay. He always says he'll figure out a way to cover my shifts. However there is only one other person doing the same sort of job im doing. so i kinda screwed that guy over, but thats what happens then they desided to have two people doing a three person job. And i'm the better of the two workers, so my boss is really gonna miss me. Maybe when i get back from fanime, he'll finally give me that raise i've been asking for...
But yes. im really excited for Fanime!!

They don't let ANYONE go at my work during grad weekend. I'm going to have to call around all the other stores in the area and talk to the store managers about getting a replacement. I was basically just told 'no'
I'm almost to cosplay panic mode right about now... but first I have homework panic mode and then finals panic mode to get through. Thankfully school ends before the con so I'll have some time to get in some last-minute sewing, but I still need to keep working!
...thankfully everything but my shoulderpads and helmet are fairly easy to sew (oh, and a vinyl coat where everything is topstitched, but shh~ who cares about that little detail?), and I have an entire costume that will take me about a day (minus the skates... oh no those skates...)
...maybe I should get into cosplay panic mode sooner... XD
definately... but somehow while making crazy cosplays I become insane >_<

They do that at my job a lot too. I request Fanime off in January and make a copy of my request form after I get my manager to sign it. Then if they say they lost the paper work, I can just whip out my copy and demand my day off. Also, Memorial Day weekend is whats called a black out holiday where no one is supposed to request the day off. But since its a different day every year, if you request it early enough no one realizes what day it is until that month. At which point there's nothing they can do about it since I got it approved 4 months ago.
I'm also the only one that does my job, and when I take a day off they have to get someone else to cover for me. Unfortunately the one that usually covers for me also got that weekend off. Meaning I'm going to have a lot of catching up to do when I get back.

I'm pretty excited
Fanime is the day I graduate from community college and starts my summer vacation
so I am pretty excited and I had fun last year but I want to meet more people this year and go to more events instead of just wandering around for hours and finding things to do... even though that is fun too.
Yesterday got me pretty excited actually (the cherry blossom festival) so what can I say, Im pumped. Hopefully I'll have the balls to ride my motorcycle over 17 to san jose hahaha, eh but after that damn accident...shudder :P ;D

THAT THAR is how you know fanime is the best. We get people from oversees coming to California and fanime. *ignores other foreign visitors to other anime cons*

I've been excited all since it ended last year...but school has been kicking my butt so I haven't had much time to daydream about this. And plz don't remind me how soon it'll come up in days. It just reminds me how little time I have to make a cosplay on top of everything else.
But all in all, I'm glad this event is coming up. I wonder what surprises will turn around the corner?
I love how Fanime kicks off summer vacation for me :)
I always look forward to returning
When I get excited for Fanime I get nightmares about Fanime.
Like I forget either my cash, my badge, my costume,...my pants...
And since it's like a month away, they've been coming oh, yes.

I've been having dreams where I'm stuck in Slow-mo at the convention, however the convention moves very quickly and it ends before I could cosplay. Then I wake up realizing Fanime hasn't started yet. =D

For some reason the Convention center is always a dome shaped building with a hallway that wraps around it all the way...

I had a dream that it was the day of Fanime but my costume wasn't done yet . D: I had the same dream about Halloween too but I had a lot of costumes but I couldn't decide on who to go as. :-\
Now I'm extra excited because it looks like everything with work will work out and I am ready to PAR-TAY.

I am excited...but I never got to my costume this year. *sad* Oh well!
I just hope I have enough money to go since it's hard to make money now. I'm some what ready for fanime.
Yeah, I don't have money either. lol I never do. But I am satisfied with just looking and seeing new things. One day I'll have cash to spend. I gather business cards though.
Been going since it started in Hayward, CA.
I am a bit excited but not as much as I used to be when I started attending FanimeCon. I have to admit, I am not a fan of anime (I don't dislike it). But I found that there are many non-anime related things to do at FanimeCon or in San Jose during that weekend. One of the most important reasons for me to be there is that (including myself) my friends, all of them, actually have the entire weekend off. It's the only time we have a coordinated weekend off for us to hang out. Since some of my friends live close to San Jose, we've chosen to use FanimeCon as a hang out spot for us. Despite having full weekend passes and a hotel room for 3 nights, we often go to other places in San Jose. Movie theaters, night clubs, etc. Sometimes we remain in the hotel room to play some X360 or watch DVDs, use laptops for Youtube or just get drunk.
So I am excited about being with my friends all in one spot.
What has changed the past few years is that my friends and I started doing the cosplay thing. Ever since we stormed in as Pirates back in 2007, we've felt it was now necessary to attend being part of the event rather than being a spectator. In turn it added the stress of building the costumes or spending a lot of money to get the quality you want. This year we're doing what we did last year (Metal), only we've just upgraded what we have now. I spent like $600 last year on pieces which I built into a costume. This year, spent maybe $200 just to upgrade it. Not fun having to spend a lot, but it was needed otherwise I'd go to the con as an unhappy camper.
So I am not too excited in the last minute cosplay work I need to do.
And of course there is the girlfriend difference. Normally we'd (the guys) go by ourselves. Everyone would ditch their wives or girlfriends for the weekend while they hang out with the guys. I never actually had a GF during a FanimeCon weekend which made me the only single guy of our group. So it was a bit exciting going to scope out the fangirls. ;) I've had many-many post-con encounters with girls and some which I've even dated, so why wouldn't that be exciting for a single guy? Well now, I have a GF (and happily so) and she and her girl-friends are coming to the con with us, and are going to dress the part matching our own costumes (for more impressive group shots). So in a way one aspect of excitement is gone. However it may create a new one with her being there. This time, I'm the only one in the group who ISN'T single while all my friends are and I think it'll be somewhat interesting to see how the guys and the girls I'm going with (all of which are strangers to each other) will interact with each other.
THAT could be an exciting Fanime. =p
Definately excited for Fanime, but there's so many things left to do. T.T Such as finish cosplay and earn more money at work. And also Swine Flu scare is definately worrying me. But other than that, I'm more than excited. ^.^
AHHHH!! Just found out today that my boss approved vacation time! I can finally be fully excited because I know I'm going for sure! Now I just need to make a few adjustments to my costume and make sure my wig stays in pristine condition...
yes but unfortunately im living in florida for school. ill definetely go to 2010 though. no good cons down here in orlando.
Junon:
I know what you mean! I am so bummed becuase the materials I need for my costume are expensive...and I don't make enough from tattooing @_@ I lost my job in 2007 and its been aweful trying to get back into the work force with a minor handicap. I wanted to do a pirate... lol and steampunk....but most of my stuff is packed away *again* cuz I am moving *again*. lol
I go to fanime to see my friends who are all far away. It's wonderful to see them, and I just got into the cosplay scene too. But not anime. I am doing Predator. Although this year the Pred has to sit at home until she's finished. But once I am done with the whole suit...I'll be set for years to come.

Definitely excited! I have a countdown going on my iGoogle page. Every time I open the internet window, it reminds me that time is ticking away. 20 days and 6 hours until we (my group here) leave for Fanime~
..I need to get paid...
I'm so excited that I keep posting on the forums waiting for that day to finally arrive. :p
But I feel restless praying that nothing bad will happen to my costume, it's currently in Japan. I hope my auntie doesn't forget to ship it here. I'd be really sad :'(

...and I don't even have material for one of my cosplays, haha. XD;; Ah well. It will only take me a couple of hours to sew that one. It's the "skates" that are going to kill me to make. (Not to mention finishing my other cosplay... I still need some materials for that, too, like spraypaint, which will then become a prop for the other cosplay, haha. Recycling, right? <3)
If nothing else, I can quickly finish gluing together props in the hotel room, right? As long as everything is sewn/painted? @_____@;;
That feeling is starting to come back...OH YEAH!

We'll be free from the shackles of school! XD
Classes are done for me. woot! life is good. now to just run through the check list of what i need to bring, and to make sure the car my friends and i are takeing has had a check up. i really..really don't want to have it break down on our way to fanime..it would suck to be stuck in the middle fo nowhere. I'd no doubt have scenes from The Hills Have Eyes poping through my mind.. kyaaaaa. o_o;;
But seriously..i'm excited.
What kinda car do you have?! o_O. I need to hustle and finish getting the rest of my costumes done. That's pretty much what I;m doing all day so I can work on a couple of papers the rest ofthe weekend. It's almost HERE!

If my car broke down on the way to fanime (the like.. 1hr -2hr drive), i'd probably have The hills have size in my head. So would one of my other friends.
Yeah don't be like me in 2007...having the car explode. XD o.o....
Right at the convention parking garage.
Even though it's been restored and fixed, I don't drive that car long ass distances anymore.
Staff (me and Jemz) secretly check this thread when we are stressed:)
XD. The perfect stress releaver.
At this point the only thing I'm even remotely stressing over is making sure my friends and I still have a hotel room to stay in. XD I had to call the Fanime housing yesterday to cancel an extra Marriott room that I thought we'd need (but it turned out we didn't), so here's to hoping they cancelled the right one! ...I think I'm just being a huge worrywart like I always am. *punches self* It'll be fiiiiine.
Aside from that I'm super mega-excited! 8D Bring it on! Fanime, here we come...!

*chewing the shackle chains* Sooooooooon T_T
I'm VERY excited. I'm basing my entire life off of "how many days until Fanime" now. LOL. I have a HUGE event I've been planning at my school in like 36 hours, but I could care less. It's all about Fanime now. Woo Hoo!!!
I actually fly out in almost exactly 12 hours time to get to Cali a few days ahead to relax with some people. Excitement is now mixed with fear and anticipation. Fearcitepation. :o I'm travelling from 40F and heavy rain to SJ's current climate...I mean, how bad can it be, right? ;)
damn you all! i still have 4 months left to graduation, so i wont be coming back from Florida!! oh well, im definetely going to 2010!
i've already packed the rice cooker, the booze, the ramen, and a pair of pants. i'm ready.
Christ, I can't wait. It's my first ever con, so I'm ridiculously excited now. I finally finished one of my wigs today so I'm 100% ready :D
Ugh The next five days will be murder. The excitement that Fanime brings is mixed with the nervousness of first time cosplay, sharing a room, and my stand up set. Its weird feeling, but I like it.
Why did I have to wait to finish my cosplay right when finals started. T_T *works on paper*
I just received the stuff for my cosplay and I need to work on that along with a final on Wednesday.
I'll get it done but kinda stressful.

Hrm...did that before...never will againĀ ;D
Then again I was just a rover during those two times.
Hey everybody! I know fanime is just around the corner and Im damn stoked! In case you didnt see my thread earlier ( http://forums.fanime.com/index.php/topic,12149.msg321308.html#msg321308 ) I am doing a research project on fanime regarding sound, language, etc. in both the fanime event and general fandom itself. If anybody has any interesting ideas on what to specify my research on or would be down for an interview let me know! I'll provide pocky!!!!
;D ;D ;D
Taking the cab to the hotel and seeing banners for fanime hanging from the lampposts...that was exciting! Nice one, guys!
I'm already having a hard time falling asleep at night. Here I am a 21 year old and i still get so excited before a trip that i lose sleep x.x
I still need to complete my cosplay, I have a final tomorrow, and a bunch of other things I need to do.
I hope I can finish everything and pass my finals!!!!! T_T
All is set and ready! now to just wait til 3:30 tomarrow morning when my friends will pick me up and we'll be ont he road to Cali! woot.
I'm working on my last paper as we speak. Also waiting for my hammer to and headband to finish drying.
I'm done with school, I'm done with work (assuming they don't call me in tomorrow)...all I need to do is make a cash run, do last-second errands, and rest for the early Friday morning drive!
In 11 hours I fly out of Denver and I'll be on my way to San Jose. I can barely contain my excitement! It is very difficult to concentrate on work at this moment...
