Same applies to me, but I might not be doing Shippuuden. I LOVE yaoi pics, so I'll pose with just about anyone. Heck, I'll do het, too, whatever.

Oh, and jackehhh, I might be Sai at Fanime. If I am, I'll totally do SasuSai pics with you :D

Aw, thanks! In your avvy, are you the Temari or the Gaara? Cause if you were the Temari, I think I took your picture!

Anyway, thanks for being the only person who bothered to reply, but it turns out that they're both out this year. I just found out, like, 10 minutes ago that our scriptwriter (who is also our Orochimaru) can't make it to Fanime this year. Technically, we COULD just find another Orochimaru, but we wouldn't feel right doing HER skit without her, y'know? =(

Wow.....So I was talking about my '08 cosplay plans, and I mentioned wanting to be Nellie Lovett from Sweeney Todd, and one of my friends said that at cons, non-anime cosplayers have sometimes been met with hostility and even minor violence on occasion!! I had no idea....Does anyone know how often this happens?

Ah, okay. Well, I understand. Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. I know it must get tedious, since you probably get a lot of the same types of questions, so I really appreciate it.

And, hey, maybe this is a good thing. It's certainly good motivation for me to work on my sewing skills :D Yay, silver lining.

Oh, my god! My friends and I did this one time! Except it was very spur of the moment, and we had two Sasukes....and a random person in a Chuunin vest....and Naruto was Shippuuden, but the Sasukes were Chuunin exam....XD Anyway, if you still need a Sasuke, I'm more than happy to be involved. Which Sasuke are you going to need? Original? Chuunin exam? Shippuuden? I'm fine with anything, just let me know so I know which one to wear. Also, what day will you be doing it? If by 'skit' you mean at the masquearde, then I'm, sadly, already busy. But if you mean just at the con, like for a video or something, then I think it sounds like fun =)

Since the Saturday time is the only one marked "TV-size", does that mean the Friday and Sunday ones are the full song? Cuz that'd be awesome.

Forgive me if you get these type of questions a lot, since I'm rather new to Fanime, and even newer to Masquerades. But I don't really understand why purchased/partially purchased costumes are prohibited entirely. It makes sense to me to allow them, but not deny eliganility for awards. I know a lot of people that participate in Masqueardes because they enjoy entertaining people with their skits and don't particularly care about winning any awards. If it's a matter of having a cutoff for entries, why not draw the line at, say, a certain number of entries? A first come, first serve sort of deal? Or if not, is there a way to organize a different event, one where people can perform the skits that they worked hard to write, block, and memorize, even if they have purchased costumes? It just seems kind of unfair to people who can't sew or don't know anyone who can sew but still want to participate  :(

Last year, I met a lot of non-anime people. A lot of random pirates, a Valentine from MirrorMask, the Goblin King from Labyrinth, Elphaba from Wicked, two Pouncivals from CATS......I was just wondering what are other peoples' thoughts on non-anime costumes at an anime convention? Personally, I like them, because the people that do them usually do good jobs and it's always fun to see some of those characters, even if it's not 'their' convention.

I'll definateloy be going. I haven't decided as who yet, though. If I can finiush my wings in time, it'll be Curse Seal 2 Sasuke. If not, either Sasuke (don't know which version yet) or Sai. Oh, and any day or time works for me as long as it doesn't clash with the Kingdom Hearts gathering.

A dollar? Sure, I'll pitch in if we do this!

Sounds awesome. I'm up for it. And I know some of my friends would love it, too.

So, like, would only other players be okay to target? In other words, would we have to carry our post-its out in the open as a sign to other people that we were playing? Because it might freak out nonplayers if people started sticking post-it notes to them o_O;

Sure, sounds super fun! And I know my friends would be interested, too. It's not only for transformers cosplayers, right? My costume plans so far are Sasuke, Shippuuden Sasuke, Haku, Sai (all from Naruto) and Demyx (Kingdom Hearts II). If there's a place in your video for any of those characters, then I'd love to be involved!

My friends and I are working on what to do for the Masquearde next year, especially since we had so much fun doing "L's Cake" last year. Initially, we were writing a dating show skit, featuring Kakashi(host) Sasuke("bachelor"), Naruto, Orochimaru, and Itachi (3 contestants) from "Naruto", with possible appearances/cameos by Jiraiya and Kisame if we can fit them in. What we have of the script so far is pretty funny, in my opinion, but a couple days ago our writer called me with a new idea that popped into her head. A while back she did a fanart of Orochimaru and Sasuke using the Dresden Dolls' song "Coin-Operated Boy" as inspiration, and she says she's managed to choreograph a dance to it. This skit/dance would have only three characters, Orochimaru Sasuke and Kabuto, as opposed to the date show skit which has 5, possibly 7. We know that comedic skits are more common, I haven't seen very many dramatic ones at all (not counting that AWESOME Count of Monte Cristo one last year), so we think that entering a dramatic skit would make it more likely for us to win something, but we really don't care about winning. We just want to entertain people. So I figure the bes way for us to make our decision is to find out what people want to see. So please, even if you don't actually write back, at least vote ^^;

Incredible Stuff I can Make / Demyx's Sitar
November 25, 2007, 02:55:19 AM
I'm working on my Demyx cosplay, from KHII, and I really want to have his sitar. BUT!! The only tutorial I could find for it was ridiculously long. I mean, her final product looked great, but it cost $150+, took 2 months, and wighed 25 pounds. I'd reeeaaally like to be able to make one....not so pricey and, more importantly, much lighter, as I WILL be carrying it around all day. I think it would be fun to make it myself, but I'll commission it from someone if need be. So basically, what I'm asking here is:

a) Does anyone know of any tutorials for the sitar other than the one on cosplay.com's forums/can anyone here tell me how to make one

b) Would anyone make it for me? If you're willing to, then please give me a general cost range, so I know how soon to start saving ^^;

I honestly don't know what order the arcs go in, since I have seen the first....15-ish episodes and then random episodes and scenes that my friends have chosen to show me from the rest of the series ^^; But there is a possibility that I will be Kalifa, and I have a ouple of friends who might go as Lucci and Kakku. I think I probably spelled some things wrong in there...
